Julian Lloyd Webber is undoubtedly one of the country's greatest living musicians – the man who, perhaps more than anyone of his generation, took classical music out of the concert hall and into the mainstream. But in October 2013, ten minutes into a recital in a Suffolk seaside town, the power drained from his right arm and he found he could barely draw the bow across his cello.Within six months, at 63, he was forced to retire – unemployed overnight and stripped of the thing that had defined him since he was a boy of thirteen.For half a century, the cello had been Julian's whole life. He toured the world, playing with everyone from Yehudi Menuhin to Elton John, took an Elgar recording to a Brit Award and his brother's Variations to number two in the pop charts. He was the first officially licensed busker on the London Underground and the only classical soloist at the London Olympics closing ceremony.Then, at 64, he sat the first job interview of his life and went on to lead the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire into a £57 million new home, winning it royal status along the way. We then meet Ryan. He's a big city finance boy who is trying to figure out what to do with his grandmother's historic St. Nicholas House. He's planning on listing it but gets a call from the mayor. The mayor calls him to see if he'd be interested in reviving the beloved Ribbons and Bows charity fundraiser. He's not so sure about this. So he heads back to his hometown and is pumped to bump into Grace. The sparks are flying. The mayor comes by Grace's office to see if she'd be willing to talk to Ryan and convince him to do the fundraiser. If she does this for her, she'll move to the top of the list of potential decorators to decorate the town next year. Grace's bff Melanie is pumped about this because they're both single and ready to mingle. Quinn goes to the St. Nicholas House to talk to Ryan to try to find out about what his plans are for the house since Quinn is a real estate agent and he has a very interested buyer. Ryan says if he decides to sell, he'll call him first. As Quinn goes to leave, Grace shows up. Ryan asks Grace if there's something going on with her and Quinn. She's like oh it's nothing, we just hang out sometimes. She convinces him to move forward with the fundraiser and that she'll do all the heavy lifting! Maggie starts hanging up mistletoe around town to help make sure that Ryan and Grace get together. They start hanging out a ton. She even tells Quinn that it's just not going to work out between them. Everything is working out great aside from not being able to find a 14 foot Christmas tree. But he surprises her by finding one! But Quinn ruins everything by telling Grace about his plans to buy the St. Nicholas House. He decides ultimately he's not going to sell. The party happens. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Jamie and Stu look back at the third and final test between England and the Black Caps, this time at Trent Bridge. We talk about New Zealand's impressive victory and their collective effort throughout the series, plus Ben Stokes' decision to retire from international cricket.   We start the show with plenty of positivity from the New Zealand side of the ledger after another impressive team performance. There was a huge partnership between Devon Conway and Tom Latham, runs for Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell scored one of the grittiest centuries you could hope to see. Throw in the performance of Tom Blundell behind the stumps and the effort and execution from a depleted bowling attack and it means there's a lot to celebrate after a rare series win in England.   For England, it's been a tumultuous few weeks. Right when the ship seemed to be steering in the right direction after the win at Lord's, the crew went off course and they've been outplayed since that moment. And then Ben Stokes retired! We talk tactics, the emotion of it all and how the game ebbed and flowed, especially on the first few days.   It's an episode that could have gone for days given the eventful nature of the game and the series. Fortunately, we'll be back again at the weekend (or Monday NZ time), when we'll likely have more thoughts about this entertaining series, England will already be playing a white-ball series against India, and the Women's World Cup will be nearing its conclusion.
