    Richard R. Oliphant, a pioneer, businessman and philanthropist in the Coachella Valley, is Randy's first guest on the Coachella Valley Chronicles debut. They will discuss how Dick relocated from Iowa first to Tucson, and later to the Coachella Valley where he was instrumental in the creation of what is today the Palm Desert Country Club, and subsequently was instrumental in saving Indian Wells from bankruptcy and becoming one of the wealthiest municipalities in the Golden State while raising a large family. Mr. Oliphant remains active to this day in economic growth, the education sector and philanthropic organizations.
