Tamra, Heather, Carmela, and Gina head to Santa Barbara, while Vicki hosts Emily, Shannon, and Jenn at her La Quinta desert home. Before they even get settled, the drama surrounding Heather and Carmela continues, with Emily revealing that Heather has been talking about Carmela behind her back while simultaneously using her as a real estate agent. Carmela admits that what bothers her most is the contradiction between Heather privately texting her about how excited she is to see her while apparently calling her “trashy” behind the scenes. Gina is determined to get Heather to acknowledge the hypocrisy, while Tamra points out that this seems to be a pattern with Heather. Meanwhile, Vicki's relationship drama with Jenn becomes another topic of conversation, with Vicki admitting that Jenn is “low-hanging fruit” when she gets frustrated—which does not exactly make her look better.The two groups continue their separate adventures, with Vicki's group enjoying her gorgeous desert home, playing golf, making pizzas, and trying to “whoop it up,” while the Santa Barbara group explores Solvang and gets into the Heather/Carmela situation over lunch. Back in La Quinta, the conversation turns toward Vicki's behavior, particularly her tendency to go after Jenn and her unwillingness to share much about her own life. Emily calls out the imbalance in the friendship, while Vicki becomes increasingly defensive. Even Shannon, usually Vicki's biggest ally, tries to explain where the women are coming from, but Vicki refuses to hear it and accuses everyone of bringing negative energy into her home.And then everything completely falls apart. Vicki retreats to her bedroom, complaining that the women are disrespecting her in her own house, just as Michael arrives home. The atmosphere immediately changes, with Shannon wondering if they should simply leave and Emily and Jenn sensing that something is very wrong. Vicki eventually comes back out and tells everyone that Michael is there and that they can “get the fuck out,” before walking away and telling production that she is done. It is an absolutely chaotic ending to an already messy episode, and Vicki somehow manages to become the least welcoming host imaginable in a house she invited everyone to stay in. Y poco a poco una conversación aparentemente inocente se transforma en una pesadilla. Una que marcaría la historia del cine para siempre convirtiéndose en la franquicia más exitosa de la historia del cine. Nos vamos a 1996, para muchos el mejor año de la historia del cine, aunque por aquel entonces el género de terror ya estaba agotado y muerto. John Carpenter escribió las reglas del juego con Halloween en 1978 y esa fórmula se repitió hasta ahogarla en un sinsentido. Los Slashers se habáin convertido en una terrible broma, con infinidad de secuelas y de imitaciones y de copias de las copias. Y luego estaba “Leprechaun” de 1994 con el debut de otra chica de Friends en pantalla, en este caso Jennifer Aniston con un asesino en forma de enano de la suerte irlandés en un palo saltarín. El único horror era más elevado, más inteligente y más cuidado. Pensad más en “El Silencio de los corderos” y menos en “Pesadilla en Elm Street”. La violencia salvaje del horror por el horror había muerto y entonces llega un guión que provoca una guerra entre compañías, uno de un novato llamado Kevin Williamson con una cinta titulada “Scary Movie”, en el que hace algo mucho más inteligente: asumir que todos hemos visto ya demasiados slashers. Más tarde el estudio cambiaría el título a Scream, un título por cierto con el que casi todos los implicados estaban en contra. This week on Talking Triathlon we start with Alex Yee's unbelievable 2:06 marathon and what it means for the sport. We talk about how performances like this show that triathletes are not just competent across three disciplines but genuinely world-class athletes. We also ask the big question: should Alex consider focusing on the marathon for LA 2028? From there we head to La Quinta 70.3 where Lionel Sanders made his long-awaited return, Sam Long took the win and Kirsten Kasper impressed in one of her first real attempts at the 70.3 distance. In Bahrain, Vincent Luis delivered another outrageous run that made us question why he thinks he should retire next year, and Georgia Taylor-Brown continued to look better every time she steps up to middle distance.
