Pr. Nick preached on Lacking Nothing from James 1:2-18 in our sermon series “How to Live.” When’s the last time you thought…”I can’t do this!” Or maybe…”I don’t have what it takes, so I can’t.” It’s in moments like this that God desires we turn to Him. In worship (praise and adoration) we take time to reflect upon the character of God. God is lacking nothing! He is all powerful and all knowing! The testing of your faith produces steadfastness. James tells us that the character of genuine faith is one that is stable or constant towards God. The goal of genuine faith is to produce in us something pleasing to God in accordance to His will and work. What is the benefit of choosing joy in any circumstance? Blessing comes after because you’re stronger because of it. The best gifts are from above - not from this life. Here is the awesome thing about God: His lacking in nothing is our lacking in nothing making us complete in Him. Ready and able for anything the world throws at us.
