In this episode of "Your Drone Questions. Answered," host John Dickow tackles the common question: how much to charge clients for drone video services and licensing? He's joined by FAA certified drone videographer and photographer, Kevin Olson.Kevin emphasizes that pricing depends on various factors, including experience level and geographical location. Starting with free work to build a portfolio is common, but as one progresses, pricing should reflect the value of time and expertise. For fresh drone video shoots, rates might range from $100-$150 initially. However, factors like travel, editing time, and complexity of the project should be considered. It's essential not to undervalue oneself, ensuring fair compensation for time and effort. When it comes to licensing existing drone footage, Kevin shares insights from his own experience. Prices can vary widely based on usage, clientele, and negotiation skills. For instance, licensing a short clip to NBC earned him $1000, demonstrating the importance of valuing one's work appropriately. Moreover, Kevin highlights the significance of networking within the drone community, sharing insights and collaborating with fellow professionals rather than seeing them as competitors. This collaboration can lead to future opportunities and referrals. In conclusion, Kevin advises drone enthusiasts not to undervalue their skills and to have confidence in pricing their services accordingly. With proper valuation and networking, one can build a successful drone videography business.
Welcome back to another episode of "Your Drone Questions Answered." In this episode, John Dickow from Drone Launch Academy is joined by Kevin Olson, the owner of Maryland Drone Guy, to discuss the requirements and challenges of flying a drone in Europe. He explains the importance of registering in the country you initially enter and obtaining the necessary certifications.Language Barriers: Language can be a barrier when trying to register and understand the rules in a non-English-speaking European country. Kevin shares his clever workaround for this issue.Drone Weight Restrictions: In Europe, the weight of your drone plays a significant role in the regulations you must adhere to. Kevin discusses the limitations imposed on heavier drones and his solution for ensuring flexibility during his European trip.No-Fly Zones: Kevin shares his experience with blanket no-fly zones in major European cities and how he had to locate specific websites for each country to find out where he could and couldn't fly.Altitude Restrictions: DJI drones in Europe are subject to altitude limitations, which can affect your ability to capture certain shots. Kevin describes his encounter with these altitude restrictions and the impact it had on his aerial photography.Kevin's journey provides valuable lessons for anyone planning to fly a drone in Europe. Racing season in 2022 is finally upon us. In this episode we cover the Klondike that occurred last week along with the racing down in Texas and preview some of the upcoming races in New England/New York. With Rebecca Davis and Ryan Matthews co-hosting the episode with Kevin Olson and return guest Kaitlin Mynar we discuss the upcoming season that we are all very excited about.
When good men do nothing…
Pr. Kevin Olson reminded us of the things we can anticipate this season - a genuine hope in Jesus. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" -1 Peter 1:3 Anticipate Jesus today, because this Child gives hope! Hope keeps us going, keeps us motivated for the future - Jesus gives us real hope… …It's a living hope He is alive - the cross could not hold Him, death could not stop Him, the grave could not contain Him! …It is an eternal hope God's eternal hope is a promise, a confident assurance, a reality that is yet to be seen - it's real, it's safe, it is protected, the inheritance is kept in heaven. …it is a powerful hope It is God's power that is guarding us. It is a powerful hope because it is through faith in Him. If it was your faith it wouldn't be very strong. We constantly question and doubt but when we trust in God, well, that is an unshakeable faith. …It is a genuine hope You have to test something to know if it is genuine. Tests reveal to us what is wrong and we need that. God's Word does that for us. When your faith is tested you will come out on the other side with a stronger faith or it will be shown for what is really is. Where is your hope? Many of you have been hurt, disappointed, and disillusioned but maybe that is because your expectation were on people rather than on Jesus. He lives and wants to live in you He is eternal, He is our inheritance He I the power of God and He can guard what we entrust to Him. He is the real deal We would love to pray with you today! https://www.emmauslutheran.org/prayer Fill out our virtual Connection Card: https://emmauslutheran.churchcenter.com/people/forms/152121 Be apart of Emmaus' Mission through giving! http://emmauslutheran.org/give Connect with us online… www.emmauslutheran.org www.facebook.com/Emmausaflc www.instagram.com/emmausaflc www.twitter.com/EmmausAFLC
