Artist Guillermo Galindo was born in Mexico but has lived in the U.S. for many years. For 4 years he collected items left behind by migrants in the desert near the U.S.-Mexican border for a project called Border Cantos. We are exploring ideas of longing (people, places etc ...) for our next EOD documentary podcast. So, EOD is providing raw interviews of some of the people we interviewed. Artist Guillermo Galindo spent 4 years collecting items left behind by migrants in the desert near the U.S.-Mexican border for a project.called Border Cantos. Greg Wohead is an American playwright living in Britain. His play 'Celebration, Florida' is about a real town located next to Disney World. It was created as a concept of a model town and still exists today with people living there. At the same time, it is a simulation of the perfect town. Welcome to our 1st complete podcast - a 15-minute documentary. What does a Mexican artist studying space have in common with a former Vietnamese refugee who calls Canada home? Listen to our audio feature where the journey of space and a fleeing human intersect and we arrive together in one destination: the Empire of Dreams. We explore human movement which is triggered by fear and hope -- it is a venture into the unknown. Thanks to artist Nahum Mantra and writer Kim Thuy for their beautiful words and expressions. And to all the participants for their contribution. NOTE: we also took a section of an interview Spencer Wells, an anthropologist/geneticist with the National Genographic project, did with the Red Cedar Environmental Institute.

Hamza Ibrahim, 24, left Somalia at age 13. He walked through Africa, 8 countries to reach Sweden at the age of 16. Now he's an activist and a political science student. He also started an organization to help young refugees in Sweden: the Association of Unaccompanied Minors. This is a raw 7 1/2 minute interview we did with him at the Global Conference on Children on the Move in Berlin. We asked him about his journey.
