Dreams don't compound. Deposits do. Show Notes In this episode of Shark Theory, Baylor shares two powerful concepts that can completely change the way you approach progress: "daily deposits and puddles of progress," the Mantra of his good friend Joezon Darby. Too many people love to talk about their dreams. They explain what they want to accomplish, where they want to go, and the life they plan to build someday. But dreams alone don't produce results. Progress happens through deposits. A deposit is simply an installment you make today that will pay off later. Just like putting money into a bank account, every action you take toward your goal adds to the total. The amount doesn't have to be huge. It just has to exist. The question Baylor asks is simple: at the end of your day, do you have a receipt? Can you point to something tangible that moved you closer to the person you want to become? Did you write? Did you train? Did you learn? Did you create? If the answer is no, then the dream stayed a dream. But when you stack deposits day after day, something powerful happens. Compound progress. Small consistent actions start to multiply into massive outcomes over time. Then Baylor adds a second concept: puddles of progress. This idea comes from the image of sweat pooling on the floor during a hard workout. When you see puddles on the gym floor, you know someone didn't just show up. They worked. They pushed. They maximized their time. Puddles of progress represent effort that goes beyond checking the box. It's the difference between attending and engaging. Between participation and commitment. Most people either dream without depositing or deposit without intensity. Winning requires both. Make the daily deposit. Then make sure you leave puddles behind. Because when consistent action meets full effort, the results compound faster than you ever expected. What You'll Learn in This Episode Why dreams without deposits never materialize How daily actions compound into major results The importance of having a "receipt" for your day Why consistency beats intensity alone What puddles of progress represent How maximizing effort accelerates growth Featured Quote "At the end of the day, ask yourself one question: do I have a receipt?"

A rather foundational and exciting discussion about linguistic mysticism in both its psychological and metaphysical dimensions. We first sketch out the Sanskrit language system and then we make a case for how words sculpt our reality, on a psychological level. But then, we daringly go beyond mere linguistic mysticism to a far deeper insight on the inseparability of the world and language. The world IS language! And so if Tantra is a tradition that promises to create change in the world through its application (which is to say, change in the mind since, having proven that world is only ever internal and never external, to change the mind is to fundamentally alter the "world" experienced within it), then naturally the main modality employed in tantra is language, or rather, the power of the Word. Also, I was trying to share my wifi password but then accidentally turned off the wifi at the end so the video dropped. By I think that was a good place to end our discussion anyway! Support the showLectures happen live every Monday at 7pm PST and again at Friday 11am PST Use this link and I will see you there:https://www.zoom.us/j/7028380815For more videos, guided meditations and instruction and for access to our lecture library, visit me at:https://www.patreon.com/yogawithnishTo get in on the discussion and access various spiritual materials, join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/U8zKP8yMrM

In this episode of 'More Than Work,' host Rabiah Coon sits down with Mike Nellis, a Democratic strategist and creator of the Substack newsletter "Endless Urgency." Mike shares his compelling personal journey from struggling with depression and weight management to becoming a prominent voice in Democratic politics and digital strategy. He opens up about his philosophy of "endless urgency" - living every moment fully and intentionally - which emerged from his own experiences with suicidal ideation and a transformational journey from 600 pounds to a healthier, more engaged life. The conversation covers Mike's 20-year career in political strategy, his work on major campaigns including Bernie Sanders' 2016 run, and his role as a co-founder of "White Dudes for Harris." He discusses the current state of the Democratic Party, the importance of engaging with voters across the political spectrum, and why Democrats need to be more strategic about communicating with all Americans - including those who disagree with them. Mike also reflects on the challenges of the 2024 election, the need for Democrats to understand and wield power more effectively, and the critical importance of showing up in uncomfortable spaces to have difficult conversations.Throughout the episode, Mike emphasizes the value of building systems, staying present, and finding joy even during challenging political times. He shares mantras and advice for maintaining momentum, from "1% better every day" to being a "joyful warrior" in the face of adversity.Timestamps:00:00 Introduction01:31 What is "Endless Urgency"?01:47 Mike's journey: from 600 pounds to transformation09:11 What the Substack offers: No BS Democratic strategy14:28 How Mike got into political strategy21:28 Staying in the Democratic Party vs. going independent23:10 Kamala Harris and the 2024 election: what went wrong27:53 Strategic messaging and power40:11 Handling family members who voted for Trump42:25 Why cutting people out weakens democracy47:21 Going on Fox News and right-wing media52:55 "White Dudes for Harris" and organizing men56:07 Mantras and advice: 1% better every day58:40 Being a "joyful warrior"65:23 Who inspires Mike right nowNote from Rabiah (host):Mike Nellis and I quickly found out we have more in common than we could have realized! And please do listen because Mike is doing the hard work that is so needed right now which the work of speaking out against the Trump administration and working to get Democrats elected. He is doing it his way and after our conversation I have even more respect for him. Honestly, Mike is doing a version of what I would have done if I'd had the courage. I've been volunteering for various Democratic candidates, the general party and with non-partisan voter registration for years but he pursued the work as a career. What he is doing really is More Than Work. Mike was very open and honest so I've added a trigger warning to this episode. It is that kind of honestly I like to approach conversations with too and I am grateful that he made it through his early battles and is here today. Enjoy our conversation. Besides the fact that Sri Krishna and Ma Kali share the same bīja mantra and besides the significant historical and cultural overlap between these two traditions in Bengal, there is a certain esoteric "bħāvic" connection between these two deities, one of madness and ecstasy that we see so perfectly expressed in Sri Ramakrishna. Pronunciation Tip for ॐ सुब्रह्मण्याय नमः(From Pāṇiniya-śikṣā – the ancient Sanskrit phonetic guide)In the word सुब्रह्मण्याय, the conjunct ह्म (in ब्रह्म) is not pronounced like a hard “h” followed by “m” (as many say “subrah-maṇyāya”).According to the traditional rule (Pāṇiniya-śikṣā verse on aurasya pronunciation):When ह् (ha) joins a nasal like म् (ma), the ह् should be produced from the chest (aurasya / उरस्य), not strongly from the throat. This makes the sound flow as:subram-haṇyāya(म first, then a soft, breathy ह् gliding out from the chest)So chant it smoothly like:ॐ सु-ब्रम्-हण्याय नमः(with the “म्-ह” feeling almost like “m-ha” – nasal leading, gentle chest breath following)Avoid the common modern style “sub-rah-maṇyāya” (strong throat ह before म).The Vedic way keeps the vibration pure, fluid, and powerful.Chant slowly at first – feel the म resonating in the nose/chest, then let a soft ह् release like a gentle exhale. This small adjustment brings the mantra closer to its ancient, correct energy.=======My Email = Cosmicbond7@gmail.com

In this episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, Brie and Nikki sit down with the endlessly charismatic Josh Segarra to talk wrestling dreams, Broadway roots, dad life, and his latest role in Fox's Best Medicine. From starring in Abbott Elementary, She-Hulk, Scream 6, and The Other Two, to lighting up the stage on Broadway in On Your Feet, Josh has truly done it all, and somehow still makes time for school pickups and rehearsal at 4:30. We love a working dad king!Of course, we had to dive into his wrestling fandom. Josh shares how he grew up idolizing the Ultimate Warrior and why he'd absolutely say yes if WWE ever called. We're already fantasy booking Sheriff Mark with handcuffs at ringside to help The Bellas snag those tag titles. Manifestation activated! And when it comes to comedy, Josh opens up about sharpening his tools on Broadway, honoring great writing, and how the best laughs often come from truth, not improv. He also gets candid about rejection, jealousy, overthinking, and dealing with online hate, dropping wisdom that honestly feels like its own form of best medicine.Between talk of Chinese food therapy, Frosty-and-fries debates, and heartfelt reflections on fatherhood, this episode is funny, grounded, and unexpectedly inspiring. Josh reminds us that comparison is the thief of joy, that overthinking is usually fiction we write in our own heads, and that sometimes the best cure is turning off the noise and going home to the people who love you. So whether you need a laugh, a pep talk, or just a reminder that you're doing better than you think, you're going to want to press play. Call Nikki & Brie at 833-GARCIA2 and leave a voicemail! The music in today's Healing Music Podcast has it's roots based in ancient healing mantras. Here are the lyrics for a beautiful mantra or psalm dedicated to the theme of peace. This composition blends well-known, ancient Vedic Shanti Mantras (peace prayers) to create a powerful chant for universal harmony. It is provided in traditional Devanagari script, phonetic transliteration (so you can chant it), and the English translation. Title: The Universal Psalm of Peace (Vishwa Shanti Mantra) Verse 1: The Invocation for All ॐ सर्वेषां स्वस्तिर्भवतु । Om Sarveṣām Svastir-Bhavatu | (May there be well-being in all) सर्वेषां शान्तिर्भवतु । Sarveṣām Shāntir-Bhavatu | (May there be peace in all) सर्वेषां पूर्णंभवतु । Sarveṣām Pūrṇam-Bhavatu | (May there be fulfillment in all) सर्वेषां मङ्गलंभवतु । Sarveṣām Maṅgalam-Bhavatu | (May there be auspiciousness in all) Verse 2: The Prayer for the World Lokāḥ Samastāḥ Sukhino Bhavantu | (May all beings in all worlds become happy and free) Vishve Shāntiḥ Sarvadā Astu | (May there always be peace throughout the universe) Verse 3: The Inner Journey to Peace Asato Mā Sadgamaya | (Lead us from ignorance to truth) Tamaso Mā Jyotir-Gamaya | (Lead us from darkness to light) Mṛtyormā Amṛtam Gamaya | (Lead us from the fear of death to the knowledge of immortality) Outro: The Ultimate Seal of Peace Om Dyauḥ Shāntir-Antarikṣam Shāntiḥ (May peace radiate there in the whole sky and in the vast ethereal space) Pṛthivī Shāntir-Āpaḥ Shāntir-Oṣadhayaḥ Shāntiḥ | (May peace reign all over this earth, in water, and in all herbs) Om Shāntiḥ, Shāntiḥ, Shāntiḥ || (Om Peace, Peace, Peace) How to use these lyrics: Tempo: Ancient Sanskrit chants are traditionally sung at a slow, deliberate, and meditative pace. The Three "Shantihs": The word Shanti (Peace) is always chanted three times at the end of a mantra. In ancient tradition, this represents a prayer for peace on three levels: internal peace (mind/body), environmental peace (the world around us), and divine or cosmic peace. Today we're sharing something special that was previously only available over on our Substack page, our exclusive live post-episode chat Mayim and Jonathan did with our special Substack community about the recent episode we did with Michael Singer, the renowned spiritual teacher and author of The Untethered Soul. While many enter 2026 with a "best year ever" mentality that can feel arbitrary or even off-putting, this discussion offers something more grounded: a simple and powerful mantra for when things go wrong—"I can handle this." How do we do that? We start by deconstructing the internal narratives that keep us in a reactive state. Mayim and Jonathan dive into the "most valuable sell" for anyone seeking peace: the realization that we don't need to "wake up" to a new reality, but rather stop putting ourselves back to sleep with our own "emotional garbage". But "I can handle this" is more than just a phrase; it's a way to influence our biology. Mayim explains that when we use our intellect to imagine something different, we are actually changing our physiology—altering our body's ability to heal, connect, and thrive. By leaning into this mantra, we stop the "animal part" of our brain from merely reacting to past programming and instead use our consciousness to navigate the world with choice. The live also explores: - The Myth of the Permanent High: Spiritual awakening is not a constant state of euphoria. It's about the "residue" you bring back from the mountaintop to handle the messy reality of traffic, technology fails, and human conflict. - The Sky Metaphor for Awareness: Peace and beauty are always available—like the sky—but we are often "unavailable" to notice them because we are fighting reality rather than acknowledging it. - Navigating the "Grit vs. Flow" Balance: A deep dive into the tension between the tenacity required to achieve goals and the spiritual wisdom required to read the "writing on the wall" when it's time to change course. - Micro-Deconstruction of Fear: Jonathan explains how to slow down a reactive moment to distinguish between a genuine lack of safety and a familiar "story" generated by past programming. - Acceptance as an Active Choice: How to move beyond "ignoring" or "suppressing" difficult feelings and instead learning to take the "signs of resistance" as vital information. This is a conversation about the intersection of neurobiology and ancient wisdom, providing a toolkit for anyone ready to stop fighting the universe and start handling whatever 2026 brings. This conversation includes: How to create mantras that work for autistic and neurodivergent adults (without toxic positivity) Why repetition builds new neural pathways—and what consistency realistically looks like Tools for regulation beyond talk therapy: somatic yoga, sound therapy, and "bottoms‑up" nervous system support How to "catch it, check it, change it" when the spiral starts Self-compassion prompts that don't feel fake—and how gratitude can shift internal dialogue Practical mantra examples like "That's just a brain glitch," "People will people," and "Just don't stand still." If you want mental health strategies that are simple, research-informed, and usable on hard days—this episode delivers.

Phil presents meditation as an ancient practice of awareness, union with God, and transformation.Together, they explore the difference between mindfulness and transcendental (yoga) meditation, why stillness is essential for spiritual perception, and how meditation aligns with Jesus' own teachings on prayer, the inner kingdom, and becoming “one” with God. Phil offers step-by-step guidance on posture, breath, mantra, handling distractions, and receiving meditation as a feminine, receptive flow of grace rather than a forced effort. This episode also addresses common fears around meditation, ego resistance, spiritual ego, emotional release, and discernment—grounding the practice firmly in Christ-centered theology, embodiment, and character transformation.
