In this episode, Michelle and Seth have somewhat of a free form conversation around the topic of questioning God. After a short "mental minute"- they tackle the subject matter of deconstruction and God. Check out the conversation. Michelle drops some truth in this episode. If you are questioning God, please hear this message: "You're okay. There is nothing wrong with you. You're not broken. You're not lost. You're not deceived. You are none of those things. You are a human being having a human experience of asking questions and that's okay." This episode was initially aired live on Facebook. The episode kicks off with a mental minute. Seth shares a funny story from being on the golf course with his father this past weekend. Michelle shares her successful move and updates on her fitness goals as she gets closer to a bodybuilding competition. There’s a funny moment in there where the topic of dick pics comes up and you know Seth had something to share. After processing, Michelle and Seth begin the next topic of conversation which is… deconstructing relationships. This is perhaps the hardest part of any deconstruction process as it often reveals who our friends really are. There’s a discussion on Seth’s experience coming out as gay and how this impacted his relationships. Seth shares personal stories from college when he was in the process of coming out amid Christians. Michelle explores how her relationships were impacted and changed as she began to question her religious beliefs. “What’s going to be the question that’s just too far?” Episodes available on: “Mental Podcast” and “Fade to Gray Network” Merch can be purchased at: https://www.storefrontier.com/ftgnetwork. I had the honor to interview Kyle J Howard, a Christian Counselor who is developing content around racial trauma. We got to talk racial trauma, church and spiritual abuse, along with what we can do to help those who are hurt by the church. Whether you have personal experience with these subjects, or want to learn more to educate yourself for a friend or the future, this is valuable insight we believe many need to hear.

For the month of August, Michelle and Seth will be focusing on a new series dedicated to looking at the Stages of Power. Following the work of Janet O. Hagberg, they will spend this series unpacking each stage of change psychologically and apply it to the deconstruction process. In this episode, Michelle and Seth start things off with a Mental Minute. Then they look at the first 2 stages of power: powerlessness and association. They unpack what life looks like at each of these stages including work, relationships, and religion.
For the entire month of July, Michelle Collins and Seth Showalter have been discussing Imposter Syndrome. In this final episode, they review previous topics while exploring the possibilities of recovery from Imposter Syndrome. Is it possible? Michelle and Seth dive into discussions around "guilt vs. shame" and "judgment vs. evaluating." Seth owns up to feeling conformable with his Imposter and complained about not having the energy to fight back due to feeling emotionally exhausted. This opened the door to a discussion on what "recovery" looks like. Michelle and Seth spend time looking at practical and realistic strategies at battling our internal critic and the Imposter Syndrome in our lives. Remember: Imposter Syndrome does not follow a straight line. Not a comprehensive summary but some of the primary strategies reviewed included: self-affirmations, gratitude and thankfulness.
