In this episode Karl Spratt pulls up a chair to chat with the boys. Karl is the the Director or Academy goalkeeping with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. Karl will be entering his 13th season with New England, and with that comes an unbelievable volume of experiences he shared with us. In this episode of the Goalkeeper Roundtable, Kat Mertz joins us for a terrific discussion. Kat is currently the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at the University of Oklahoma, while her back ground also includes head coaching stops at St Louis University, The University of Nevada Las Vegas and the University of Oregon. Jon had a 20 year storied, and, rock solid career as a professional goalkeeper. A Hall of Famer at a variety of levels, Dan has international experience at the highest levels working with Portugal and Iran at the 2010 and 2014 Worlds Cups, he continues to own and operate Star Goalkeeper Academy and has worked at every level imaginable in the game. In episode 12, we welcome the one and only John Murphy to the table. While he is currently the successful Head Men's Soccer Coach at Georgia Southern University, he serves up an unbelievably diverse resume that spans most all levels of collegiate soccer in the United States, multiple experiences in Major League Soccer, and International experience in his favorite country of Scotland. Murph brings a unique experience, wisdom, and Boston accent ;-), to share with you. We hope you enjoy the knowledge from one the most well rounded, and versed coaches in the United States.

In episode 12 we have terrific conversation with Mike Novotny, professional goalkeeper playing for Hartford Athletic in The USL Championship. Mike took a somewhat non-traditional and persistent approach to the professional level after playing NCAA Division 1 Soccer at Eastern Illinois University. Mike is humble, determined and driven! Episode 11 is special one as Anson Dorrance dropped in to talk about his views and perspective on goalkeeping and goalkeepers. As a World Cup Champion Head Coach and the owner of 22 National Championships at the University of North Carolina he does not need much introduction. While we had planned to edit out a bunch of the interview, we decided to leave it all there because it sows the uniquely genuine and gracious nature fo a very busy, honest, and competitive coach. For Episode 10, we gathered up 4 NCAA goalkeepers, Male & Female from Div. 1 2 and 3. We had a great chat that explored how all four of these goalkeepers have managed and continue to manage their training and especially their attitude during the long lay-off with no matches during this pandemic. We knew these four were all great goalkeepers, but in this discussion, we realize that they are all great people as well! In Episode 9, We open up a discussion of an often overlooked topic of, goalkeeper specific fitness. A goalkeeper with well rounded fitness can help support making big saves in key moments, keep our goalkeepers less prone to injury, and provide a level of confidence otherwise not present with less fit goalkeepers. We only touch on a handful of concepts and hope to re-visit this in the future.

In Episode 8, we sat down the ONE and ONLY, Kim Wyant. Kim is a Pioneer of not just women's soccer BUT is currently setting new standards in the field of coaching. Kim played the Division 1, University of Central Florida, was a goalkeeper on the US Women's National Team and tells great stories of training with some of the best male players in the sport during her development. Kim is currently the Head MEN's Soccer Coach at the prestigious New York University (NYU) Another long time friend, colleague, and mentor, Kims shares her perspective on the current generation of goalkeeping, her experience coaching and recruiting in the collegiate men's game, and the uniqueness of playing soccer at NYU. On Episode 7, Chris Ducar (aka Big Bird) fly's in to take a seat at the GK Roundtable. Chris is entering his 25th season as an Assistant AND Goalkeeper Coach for the University of North Carolina Women's Soccer Program. Chris has a rich history as an athlete, has worked with phenomenal mentors, and is one of the most skilled and passionate teachers of goalkeeping in the game. A long time friend, colleague and mentor we are thrilled that Chris joined us for this episode.

Tracy Noonan is the proud Owner of Dynasty Goalkeeping where she implements an incredibly holistic and well-rounded curriculum at her camps and clinics. In her senior year at the University of North Carolina, Tracy was a National Champion and an NCAA All American. She also played professionally for the Boston Breakers, AND was capped 12 times and won a Word Cup medal with the US Women's National Team.
