Michigan alum Rich weighs in on his Wolverines' chances to end their decade-long losing streak to Big Ten archrivals The Ohio State Buckeyes. (timestamp).      Rich and Brockman play a round of ‘What's More Likely' – The Raiders beat the Cowboys or the Saints beat the Bills, the Bears fire Matt Nagy or the Giants score 30 on the Eagles under new Offensive Coordinator Freddie Kitchens, if the 49ers or Vikings are more likely to make the playoffs, if the Bengals or Steelers are more likely to make the playoffs, if the Rams or Packers are more likely to be the NFC #1 seed, if the Patriots or Titans are more likely to be the AFC's #1 seed, and if it's more likely Michigan beats Ohio State or Alabama doesn't make the College Football Playoff.   Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons and Rich discuss his upcoming movie ‘National Champions' where he plays a college football head coach and his portrayal of the actor William Frawley who played Fred Mertz on ‘I Love Lucy' in another upcoming film, and why he's fully confident that his Ohio State Buckeyes will continue their dominance of Rich's Michigan Wolverines.     Rich reacts to Mets owner Steven Cohen taking to Twitter to whine about losing free agent Steven Matz to the St. Louis Cardinals.    Learn more about your ad choices. This week Clint and Dawson sit down with Ali Whittier. We had such a good time during her recording, Ali has an infectious personality and gets so excited talking about cycling, racing, family, friends and life. Ali was born and raised in Iowa. She grew up a dancer (traveling to Europe for a tour at age 8) and still loves to dance to this day. She was also a team sport person through school. She married her husband, Spencer, in 2012 and the pair moved to Chattanooga in 2014. That same year she joined the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee corporate communications team and still works on that team today in public affairs, managing the company's social media presence, employee ambassador program and its WellTuned wellness content site. After meeting her future husband in 2010, she got her first road bike. Ali soon competed in a couple sprint triathlons and then focused solely on racing bikes. In 2012, Ali began her bike racing career in cyclocross on the Hub Endurance Cycling Team, also taking a leadership role on the team helping to put on races and practices each year as well as design the team's kits. She and Spencer traveled to UCI races across the country as well as races around the southeast – that included approximately 20 races between September and December. They raced CX nats in Asheville in 2016 where Spencer won his division and became National Champion. Later that year, Ali won the Tennessee State Mountain Bike Championships in a rainy, muddy race that mirrored her favorite cyclocross conditions. Ali then learned the ropes of road racing, joining the Scenic City Velo women's race team. It was then she began working with Coach Steve Carpenter who still coaches her today as an endurance gravel and mountain bike racer. Ali and her Motor Mile Racing teammate, Stephen Lebovitz, will compete as a coed duo in Breck Epic in August 2022. She trains with a group of Chattanooga female cyclists who also race and have mentored her throughout her cycling career.

James Casanova, Principal at Collaborate Builders, joins us for episode 238 of Art of Construction and episode 4 of our Blue Collar Warrior Series. James is relentless in his pursuit of excellence. He was an aspiring Olympic athlete before an 80mph launch off of a three story building, while on skis, slowed him down. Growing up just outside of Aspen, he worked in the trades to support his ski habit. He can pour concrete, weld, frame, pull wire, run pipe, hang ducts, and execute finish carpentry with the best of them. Think Rainman of the construction world. He trained in architecture and ran a Design/Build firm for 15 years. He did take a break from construction in the late 2000's in order to become National Champion as a Three Gun (look it up – it is interesting!) target shooter. Despite the sponsorships and lots of free stuff, he came back to his roots and co-founded Collaborate Builders in 2016.  Join Devon, Jon and James as they discuss what it means to balance the wisdom of the warriors with the stresses of leading a business and managing a project team, how to set proper expectations with your client, and how to truly understand and execute a vision in high-end, custom home construction.

Some may know or remember "Big T" Thurl Bailey as the man who was part of the 1983 National Championship team with North Carolina State, who was coached by Coach Jim Valvano. He was drafted in the first round of the NBA draft and played 12 of his 16 professional seasons in the National Basketball Association between the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves organizations.  What most don't know however, is the fact that Thurl's basketball talents didn't necessarily come naturally. He had the passion for the sport and the dedication and willingness to get better,  but he truly had to WORK at it to be where he's at.  Find out today on the show just how he was able to go from playing 2 seconds a game (the tip offs) in Junior High, to becoming a National Champion in College, to then playing 16 years as a professional (12 of which were in the NBA). It's truly one you want to pay attention to.  Major shoutout to my cousin John Elmer, who helped me land this interview with Thurl. John is a sports fan just like me. And when he was at his local gym working out, he went out of his way to communicate with Thurl who happened to be there too, and got him in contact with me! This interview wouldn't have happened without John's support and willingness to reach out for me! So for that I want to say thanks to John! Love ya man!!  I would love for all to check out Thurl's book, by going to:  https://thurlbailey.com/  I promise you one thing, after listening to this interview, you're going to see exactly why the people of Utah have embraced this man with open arms! He's a man of character, who is well-spoken and respectful to all! I've always had a respect for Thurl, but didn't truly realize how unbelievably impactful he was until I spoke with him!  Enjoy the interview! ________________________________ Where to Find Me: Apple Podcasts - https://apple.co/2syRPkw Spotify - http://spoti.fi/2oVVZ36 Stitcher - http://bit.ly/2sR9m90 TuneIn - http://bit.ly/2Fx5UlU

Justin Wren knows what it's like to feel like the world is against you.  Like many kids, Justin was bullied as a teenager, but he had a dream that kept him going. Fueled by the anger he felt toward his tormentors, Justin pursued wrestling in high school where he became 10 time State Champion, 5 time All American, and 2 time National Champion.  Justin trained hard and this propelled his dream of becoming a UFC fighter into reality.  But the pain from his childhood didn't dissipate, and Justin fell into a spiral of depression and addiction that led him on a path toward destruction.  After he was kicked out of his training community, his career was in shambles and he had nowhere else to go so Justin attended a men's retreat.  It was there he found his faith and purpose for living. As Justin began piecing his life back together, he took several international trips. This led him to the Ituri rain forest in the Democratic Republic of the Congo where he came across the Mbuti Pygmies, a group of people persecuted by neighboring tribes and forced into slavery. On one of his trips he stayed for a year living among them and sharing the culture of what he calls "the most bullied people on earth." They gave him two names Efeosa which  means "the man who loves us" and Mbuti MangBO "The Big Pygmy." His encounter with the pygmies left him wondering who was there to help them, and in that moment Justin stepped out of the cage and into a Fight For The Forgotten. In 2015, after a five year hiatus from professional sports, Justin returned to his winning ways in MMA fighting, but now he is fighting for someone besides himself. Since returning to fighting, Justin is undefeated in three fights. His current record is 15-2.Justin is not only giving a voice to the pygmies through land, food and water  initiatives but, state-side, he is addressing the escalating problem of  bulling through an anti-bullying character development curriculum titled "Heroes in Waiting." He says, "Everyone can be a hero. To be a hero all that's required is to see a need and do what's right." The program aims to inspire students to take action at a moment of choice through empathy, kindness, compassion, courage and integrity.  https://fightfortheforgotten.org/
