Professional runner for Team ZAP Endurance Tristin Van Ord tells the story of how it all went down from her viewpoint racing in the 2023 USATF 20km National Championships, which just took place September 4 in New Haven, CT. This 2023 season has been full of success as well as learning experiences for Van Ord. She started the year running her fastest marathon ever—she set a PB by over two minutes—placing first American and fourth woman at the Houston Marathon in January. Going into the summer, however, Van Ord, who has OCD, began to experience worsening symptoms of the disorder. In particular, those manifested in intense performance anxiety and insomnia. But through the summer to now, more race experience and therapeutic work has put Van Ord on a path to better manage the impact of OCD, to the benefit of her running and racing. The story of the 20k champs is testament to Van Ord's progress and also to her growing savvy and strength in the elite ranks of US road running. Van Ord tells the whole story in this episode, about experiencing and managing OCD, how she's learned and grown from her challenges, how she's improved as a competitor, and how the 20k champs unfolded, to an excellent result. The USATF 20km National Championships is a part of the championship series of races, for various different distances, that happen around the country throughout the year. Racers have a chance to earn a national title, as well as to earn prize money and points based on finishing places; points go toward the overall series placing. The top three places in the series after the 20km champs are Ednah Kurgat, Nell Rojas, and Emily Sisson. Both Kurgat and Rojas have been featured in our Race Report episodes this year. You can catch up on earlier road races in the series through our Race Reports. Each report features one runner's perspective on how it all went down, to give you an inside look at these championship events. Stay tuned for the next race in the series, the USATF 10km National Championships taking place in Northpoint, NY, September 23, 2023. That will be followed by the final race on the circuit this season, the USATF 5km National Champions, which take place November 4, 2023, in New York City. It is the fastest growing sport in the World! Pickleball spawned from a backyard game to a Professional sport that is attracting the best talent in racket sports. Matt Wright took his competitive drive from the tennis court to the pickle ball court and has competed at the highest level and won at the highest level since its inception. Welcome to the Dressage Today Podcast. This special bonus episode, sponsored by Cosequin, is with 2023 Neue Schule/USEF Grand Prix National Champion, Codi Harrison. Codi sat down to chat with guest host Julia Buitenhuis at the 2023 U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions after winning both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special aboard her 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, Katholt's Bossco. Just 27-years-old, this young star then went on to place third in the Grand Prix Freestyle, effectively securing the title of 2023 National Champion. Codi and "Bossco" began their partnership in 2015 and have made their way from Young Riders to U25 and finally the senior Grand Prix, all under the tutelage of Olympian Lars Petersen. Codi shared that she feels lucky to have a trainer that did not want her to buy a made horse and would not make the horse for her. Instead, Lars taught her how to create a Grand Prix horse. That hard work paid off in 2018 when Codi and Bossco won the USEF Young Adult Brentina Cup Dressage National Championship. Now, five years later, they were crowned national champions at the senior Grand Prix level, and Codi has her sights set on a spot on U.S. team for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile this October.Website: https://dressagetoday.comVideo Subscription Site: https://ondemand.dressagetoday.com/catalogSocial Media Links:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DressageTodayInstagram: @DressageTodayTwitter: @DressageTodayPinterest: @DressageTodayEmail: sruff@equinenetwork.comSponsor: https://www.cosequin.com/horses
In today's episode, I talk to professional cyclist, Ryan Gibbons. Ryan is a 29-year-old National Champion cyclist from South Africa, competing right now with the UAE Emirates Team. His pro career started when he was 21, but he didn't even know you could get paid for riding a bike at the time!! He took his chance to go pro because it paid basically the same as a good corporate job in South Africa at the time, and how he's raced all around the world in competitions like the Tour de France and the Olympics. Check out Ryan on Instagram and Twitter @RyanGibbons23, and you can even follow his bike rides on Strava @RyanGibbons. If you've ever wanted to learn about the not-so-glamorous life of a pro cyclist, you'll love this episode. In this conversation, you'll enjoy 3 BIG things: - Why he consumes the sugar equivalent of 4 Coca-Colas per HOUR (!!!) - The one thing he WON'T do to become a better cyclist - And the KEY difference that separates amateur and pro cyclists Enjoy those 3 things… plus a bunch more ear nuggets along the way.

The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network reacts to the College Football Week 0 slate. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) & Patty C (@PattyC831) break down every single game and make sense of all the results that occurred on Saturday. Are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Sam Hartman for real after a dominating performance in Dublin, Ireland against the Navy Midshipmen? Did Caleb Williams and USC do enough to convince us that they are a legit National Champion contender? Did the Vanderbilt Commodores impress us or did the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors leave us more impressed? What did we learn from Rich Rodriguez and the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in their first ever FBS win at home against the UTEP Miners and Dana Dimel? Did Reese Poffenbarger just put the rest of the FCS world on notice with a dominating performance against the Fordham Rams? How about Don Brown and the Umass Minutemen with quite the performance in Las Cruces against the New Mexico State Aggies? How did Mike McIntyre and the Florida International Panthers blow their 14 point lead against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs? Did Buddy Pough and South Carolina State give us our first real dud of the FCS season as Jason Brown and Jackson State blew out the Bulldogs in Atlanta, Georgia? How should we grade the San Diego State Aztecs and Brady Hoke's performance against the Ohio Bobcats after Kurtis Rourke went down with an injury? Also did North Alabama look better than we expected and should we stop all the Mercer Bears to the FCS Playoffs talk? Our guest this week is one of HB's finest. He had an incredible amateur career as an NSSA 4x Seasonal Champ and 4x National Champion. In turning pro, he went on to win Vans Pier Classic, he also won the Macy's Trifecta and Surf Ride Freedom Series. Utilizing his travel experiences and competitive skills, he had more to give and jumped into the business side as a Surf Team Manager at Matix, DC Shoes and then at Billabong as Surf Marketing Manager. He's been a mentor to those on his team rosters, an assistant Coach to the USA Surfing America Team, and many years either as a beach marshal or as a contest announcer, most recently this last week at the US Open of Surfing. He is hustling real estate day-to-day and this guy is still deadly out in the water and we are stoked he is on our 40's division for the Huntington Beach Boardriders Club. One would assume that a 2-time All American, Butkus Award winner, National Champion and 2-time Super Bowl Champion played football his whole life. Not the case with Alfred Williams. He begrudgingly started playing in high school: Alfred wanted to be a quarterback and when he was switched to defensive line after a couple days of practice, he quit. Thankfully a coach kept after him and convinced Alfred to come back out and promised he would be by his side and help him. Not only did that high school coach help him with football, he helped him navigate life. Alfred made sure that same coach saw Super Bowl 32 and 33. While Alfred had incredible success at the University of Colorado and was a first-round draft pick in the NFL, he still faced many struggles during his time as a pro level including injuries, questionable coaching and guidance and a divorce. Life got a lot better when he signed with the Broncos in 1996. Big Al has always considered Colorado his home and stayed true to that in retirement, entertaining fans on Denver TV and radio stations for years. These days he's an afternoon co-host on KOA Colorado with Dave Logan and Ryan Edwards.
