If you're feeling wiped out from nonstop video calls, struggling to focus, or just wondering why remote life feels so exhausting, this episode is for you.More info, resources & ways to connect/support - https://www.tacosfallapart.com/podcast-live-show/podcast-guests/rob-walkerIn this episode of Even Tacos Fall Apart, MommaFoxFire sits down with returning guest Rob Walker from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health to talk about something most of us have experienced but don't always know how to explain: Zoom fatigue.Rob, a peer support advocate and father of three (plus a beagle named Hank), opens up about how remote work has changed not just how we connect but how we function. Since the pandemic hit, our personal and professional lives have been jammed into the same tiny box - literally, on screen. Coffee chats, therapy appointments, team meetings, happy hours and even first dates have all been flattened into the same platform. No wonder our brains are short-circuiting.Rob breaks it down: video calls demand more brainpower. Without in-person body language or spatial awareness, we spend calls analyzing eye contact, wondering about delays, and stressing about how we're coming across... all while staring at ourselves in a tiny box. That constant cognitive load drains energy fast. Throw in back-to-back meetings with zero breaks, and you've got a recipe for exhaustion, irritability and what Rob calls “brain mush.”But it's not all bad. Rob points out some positives, like how remote access has actually improved mental healthcare for some. In his work, he's seen people gain access to support and specialists they might never have been able to reach otherwise. Telehealth, Zoom therapy and online support groups are now part of the new normal... and for many, they're more convenient, more affordable and more accessible. They talk about practical ways to fight Zoom fatigue, too. Rob recommends building breaks into your schedule, stepping away from screens and doing things offline. A walk outside, cooking a new recipe, or sitting in a different room for lunch can make a big difference. And just because you can do everything on Zoom doesn't mean you should. Sometimes, an email or phone call really is enough. The conversation also touches on the emotional toll of social distancing - especially for people who miss hugs, handshakes and real-life hangouts. Rob suggests tapping into other ways of connecting: online hobby groups, cooking classes, gaming with friends, even walking therapy sessions. Pets, weighted blankets and asking your kids for hugs also made the list as ways to soothe touch starvation. They wrap up by busting one of the most damaging myths about depression: that people who are struggling are just being lazy. Rob is clear - depression isn't laziness. It's an illness. People dealing with it are not weak or unmotivated. In fact, they're often some of the most resilient people out there. This episode is full of honest, funny and practical insights into what it means to live, work, and stay connected in a world where everything feels just a little too virtual. Whether you're working from home, burned out from video calls or just trying to stay human in the middle of it all - this one's worth a listen.

It's a joy. The thrill of the hunt; the challenge and delight in finding something new in the very familiar; the excuse to get outdoors, whatever the weather; the visual puns; the surprisingly sentimental moments -- all culled from the everyday world around me. Flint was once one of the richest cities in the United States. But in the 1980s, it was badly affected by the downturn in car manufacturing and by 2014 it was nearly bankrupt. To save money, the city switched its water supply away from Lake Huron to its own Flint River, but state officials failed to treat the river water properly. As a result lead, a powerful neurotoxin, was released into the drinking water.Despite mounting evidence, officials denied anything was wrong and it took them a year and a half to switch water supply back to Lake Huron. But many residents of Flint –a majority African-American city with high rates of poverty– have been left fearful about the long term impacts on their children.Rob Walker speaks to lifelong Flint resident Jeneyah McDonald who had two young children at the time. He also hears from Dr Mona Hanna-Attisha – a paediatrician and professor of public health– who helped bring the scandal to national attention after showing that lead had found its way into the bloodstreams of the city's children.(Photo: Bottled water donations to help with the Flint Michigan water crisis in 2016. Confidence Hack #56: The power of storytelling. I'm going to do you a favor and introduce you to the best ‘storytelling' teacher I know, David JP Phillips. David JP grew up in rural Sweden and, from a young age, was taught the power of story by his parents. Today, I want to highlight one story that he tells in his Ted Talk, ‘The Magical Science of Storytelling.' In early 2009, Rob Walker and Joshua Glenn embarked on a journey to prove the power of storytelling. They began their mission by acquiring 100 ‘junk' objects from garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and anywhere they could find. And they were acquired for an average price of just $1.29. They put the 100 objects on eBay along with the story to back the efficacy. By November of that same year, you would not believe the price they received for all of these exact same items! Stories are everywhere - movies, music, books, daily conversations. You, too, can be a confident curator of stories! Hey! If you love this show, share it with family and friends! It's the best way to help get this info into the hands of people who want to grow and become the most CONFIDENT LEADERS they can be! And please throw us a 5-star review! Trump's revenge plan

[SEGMENT 2-1] Trump's revenge plan 1 George Herbert said, "Living well is the best revenge", and boy has Trump live well. He's a triple-threat: success in business, TV, and politics. Very few people have this level of success in any career versus three careers. And now Trump is going for the "re-peat". Democrats are doing all they can to stop him. But you can't stop a moving train, especially the "Trump train". Ask by Laura Ingraham about the revenge question that Democrats seem so worried about. And Trump surprised everyone. "My revenge will be success." https://twitter.com/CollinRugg/status/1760111332362424564 What a comment. Very presidential. Those may be some of the most scary words the Democrats have heard, given all their fearmongering about a second Trump term. Also, Democrats hate success. Ironically, success is the reason Democrats targeted Trump in the coup of 2020 in the first place. Trump was too successful. Imagine going years with neither party having success, and then Democrats get their perfect candidate: Baby Black Jesus. And he blows it. [SEGMENT 2-2] Trump's revenge plan 2 Barack Obama accomplished nothing meaningful, and he divided the country in race, gender, sexuality, and religion. No need to recount all the economy-killing things the warmongering Nobel Peace Prize winning loser did. But his damage was plentiful. Then Trump follows him. The man who Obama dared to save Carrier. Trump obliged, making it look so easy it caused a panic in Democrat circles. Trump was winning on Day One. Democrats invest in failure. Because that's where the money is. Look at their leader. Biden is and has always been a dismal failure. But he's a cash dispensing machine. The bigger the failure, the more the "investment". Democrats have ruined the education system, nearly bankrupted the welfare and healthcare systems. They reward criminals by defunding the police. And there is much more fiendish activities by Democrats that prove they hate success. Government hadn't experienced success until Trump got elected. [caption id="attachment_79910" align="alignnone" width="929 Partial transcript: “You say ‘how do you get together?' We will get together through success,” Trump responded. “When this country—the country was at a level that we never—we had the best employment numbers in history. Everything was good. And this country was coming together. Then we got hit with Covid. But this country came together. “I don't care about the revenge thing,” Trump added. “I know they usually use the word revenge. Will there be revenge? My revenge will be success.” Democrats really opened Pandora's box. The public recognizes the witch hunt of Trump. And his $355 million civil fraud judgment only reinvigorated his resolve to drain the swamp. Now Trump pledges to take his campaign message straight to New York City. "I'm gonna see about Madison Square Garden and we're gonna go to the South Bronx and we're gonna go to Queens and other areas," he said. "If you look at what's happened in New York, I'm not even blaming the mayor. I think the mayor has sort of been told to take a backseat a little bit because they came after him violently." "My revenge will be success." "I'm gonna see about Madison Square Garden and we're gonna go to the South Bronx and we're gonna go to Queens and other areas." "If you look at what's happened in New York, I'm not even blaming the mayor. I think the mayor has sort of been told to take a backseat a little bit because they came after him violently." New Yorkers will show the world that New York City is Trump country. [SEGMENT 2-3] Government playing god… If you follow any religion, then you've heard of Judgment Day. That's the day you meet God and He determines what you did with your life. Supposedly there is a review of everything you did on Earth, and your fate is determined by all that. When I was young, I pictured books and perhaps videos of God watching all my sins. The thought of that was daunting. God know all and sees all. Well the new earthly god is the NSA. It knows all and sees all. Imagine the volumes of data the NSA can have on a person. If you don't believe me, check out the history Facebook keeps on you. It knows where you've been since you downloaded the app. And it has logged not some, but all of your searches, articles you've read, etc. Using sophisticated AI models, FB could rebuild you. All that data is with the NSA, who could make or break you. Unlike God who is content to look at your real accomplishments, He won't forsake you and make you out to be a villain if you're not one. But the government is not benevolent. Quite the contrary… [SEGMENT 2-4] Government playing god 2 - Jim Biden testimony The Biden crime family is being questioned one by one over the next few weeks. And the questioning began with Joe Biden's younger brother. Like the other Bidens, Jim Biden has no actual skillset. So he makes a living marketing his big brother. The entire family bet on Joe, like he's the blue-chip quarterback everybody hoped would go pro. Lucky for Joe Biden, elitists picked him to replace Trump in the coup, and the Biden family hopes were realized. Jim Biden's grift is well-documented. He promised a rural hospital group money from a foreign source, and he used his brother's name to get a cushy deal. Jim sent his big brother Joe, aka "the big guy" his cut, and now he's answering tough questions about the deal. Understand that the Biden crime family members know rule number one: protect Joe Biden. So initially Jim Biden claimed that he was not part of a deal involving Hunter Biden and his other business partners. However, according to one source, James Biden altered his story during a closed-door interview with lawmakers. All it took to get him to recant was evidence. Investigators showed Jim Biden an agreement that featured his signature alongside those of Hunter Biden and his business partners. Biden then pulled a "Joe Biden" and told legislators that he did not remember signing the agreement. Who can blame him, given all those LLCs the Biden crime family set up. So what deal did Jim Biden selectively forget? The biggest deal of the Biden family, a proposed joint venture involving an entity known as SinoHawk and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-tied CEFC China Energy Limited energy firm. This deal brought the Biden family millions, and I'm certain the money trail will validate this. The deal structured fifty percent ownership of SinoHawk by Hudson West IV — an entity nominally managed by CEFC “emissary” and Joe Biden “office mate” Gongwen Dong, and fifty percent to be owned by Oneida Holdings LLC, an entity composed of LLCs controlled by Hunter Biden, James Biden, Rob Walker, James Gilliar and Tony Bobulinski, according to Bobulinski's Feb. 13 testimony to congressional investigators and documents obtained by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Per Yahoo News, the Biden family was paid millions: CEFC China Energy, which has close ties to the Chinese Communist Party and People's Liberation Army, paid entities controlled by the then-cash-strapped Hunter Biden or his uncle James Biden $4.8 million over the course of 14 months beginning in 2017, according to The Washington Post. But the deal was meant to be much larger than the $4,8 million received. And the service to be provided by the Bidens? Introductions. Hunter Biden entered into a consulting contract with China's largest private energy company that initially earned him $10 million a year “for introductions alone,” according to leaked emails. In an email chain from Aug. 2, 2017, Biden discussed a deal with the former chairman of CEFC China Energy, Ye Jianming, saying Ye agreed to change the terms of Biden's three-year consulting contract with CEFC, which initially promised Biden $10 million per-year “for introductions alone,” to make it “much more lasting and more lucrative,” the New York Post reported, although the authenticity of the Biden emails has not been independently confirmed. The new deal included a 50 percent equity stake in a holding company created by Ye rather than the $10 million in annual cash that had been previously negotiated. "For introductions alone". I've never shopped for "introductions", but apparently they are more expensive than Lamborghinis. How could Jim Biden possibly forget to have signed a deal like this? What say the people? The results of a YouGov poll, were released on Wednesday. They showed that an astonishing 53 percent of registered voters believe that Joe Biden “personally profited” from his son's overseas business adventures. Perhaps the most telling statistic in this poll is that roughly 44 percent of Democrats believe Joe Biden profited. And by profited, they mean committed crimes by accepting money from America's enemy.

It is damning and pointed. The Biden family built a massive multi-million dollar enterprise around Joe Biden and his position of power and influence. New York Post: WASHINGTON — A former Biden family business partner scorched President Biden in an explosive opening statement at a House impeachment inquiry deposition Tuesday, saying the commander-in-chief is corrupt and that his testimony will help prove it. “The Biden family business was Joe Biden, period,” said Tony Bobulinski, a former Navy officer who worked alongside first son Hunter Biden and first brother James Biden on a venture with CEFC China Energy. Bobulinski alleges he spoke twice with Joe Biden in May 2017 about the Chinese government-linked company — shortly after Biden left office as vice president. A different former Biden family associate, Rob Walker, testified Jan. 26 that the Biden family's business relationship with CEFC began as early as 2015 when Joe Biden was still vice president and that Joe Biden attended a meeting in early 2017 with CEFC chairman Ye Jianming, who has since gone missing in China amid corruption allegations. In 2017, an American businessman associated with Hunter Biden received a substantial financial contribution from a Chinese entity right on the heels of a lunch gathering involving US and Chinese professionals. Joe Biden had a brief appearance at this luncheon, held at the Four Seasons hotel in the national capital, in which his son, Hunter Biden, his associate, Rob Walker, along with other professionals were present. In the mix were individuals connected to CEFC, an energy organization with ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Rob Walker, the recipient of said payment, relayed the details of this lunch gathering during a recent hearing in late January with the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. As he narrated, a business entity related to CEFC transferred around $3 million to Walker's company shortly after this meeting took place. Interestingly, part of these funds found their way to members of the Biden family. Mr. Walker's agreement with Joe Biden's presence during the meeting was unsurprising, informal, and happenstance. The assurance being shared is that Joe Biden's appearance was brief and had no relevance to the business discussions that transpired among the people present. Walker was confident in asserting that no business propositions were offered or negotiated during Biden's short visit. It is noteworthy that CEFC Chairman, Ye Jianming, was counted as part of the attendees at this lunch. After the company associated with CEFC transferred the $3 million to Walker, a sum slightly exceeding $1 million was subsequently forwarded to another business partner in a sole transaction. This movement of finances was part of Walker's testimony to the House committee.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today's show opens with comments about the second attempt to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. We hear from Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) before the vote to impeach. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson announces the passage of the impeachment by a 214-213 vote. It will now move to a full senate trial. Let me be clear, Mayorkas will not be removed from office. It does not matter how much evidence they present, it will not end with Democrats following the Constitution or the rule of law. I mean, why start now? But, it will provide the American people with a lot of information heading into the election cycle. What won't help Mayorkas with sympathy is a trove of documents just released showing he personally rejected the request by Robert Kennedy, Jr. for Secret Service protection while on the campaign trail. It seems Biden loves to weaponize the government to go against anyone who he deems as the opposition. Next, we jump in the DeLorean and head to August 19, 2022, when I first told you about Special Agent Brian Auten being assigned to work with the Mar-a-Lago raid on Donald Trump's home. Auten was a disgraced and scolded agent who was part of the Russian Collusion Hoax, aka, Crossfire Hurricane. I said the only reason Auten would be involved is if the FBI was trying to make sure they had all of the documents Trump might have had related to the hoax. Fast forward to yesterday when investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger hinted to a big news bomb about to drop from fellow investigative journalist Matt Taibbi regarding the Mar-a-Lago raid. According to their sources, they are saying the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago was to get back a specific folder that contained the memos and the plans to perpetrate the hoax on Donald Trump. The operation was said to have started under CIA Director John Brennan and would involve the Five Eye's nations – or the top intelligence apparatus of the United States, Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand. Supposedly, it was decided by Brennan to target 26 of Trumps team in an effort to bring the president down with the Hillary Clinton conceived plan to vilify Trump as a Russian asset. It's nice to see I am once again a full 18+ months ahead of the news cycle, but I am happy it's being brought back to light. The worst deep state collusion against a sitting president was perpetrated by Barrack Hussein Obama and his team in cooperation with Hillary Clinton and the DNC. As I have said multiple times, this is the worst scandal in our history. The House Oversight Committee not only spoke with Biden Crime Family Syndicate member, Rob Walker, in behind-closed-door testimony, but also just heard from former Hunter Biden partner Tony Bobulinski. While other members of the Syndicate have been reluctant to name Joe Biden specifically, Bobulinski was not. We close today with yet more breaking news surrounding the DNC HQ pipe bomb story. We get a short 3 ½ minute piece from investigative journalist Steve Baker. It seems, when bomb disposal crews finally showed up on the scene, two cameras that had been trained on the building were suddenly turned completely away from the scene. It's almost as if someone wanted to make sure the “bomb” retrieval was not captured on camera. Now, why would that be? Impeachment Inquiry Digs Deeper Biden Family's Financial Integrity Questioned

Real News Now Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 2, 2024 7:19

The ongoing inquiry into impeachment, led by the House, has established a plan to question James Biden, brother to current U.S. President Joe Biden on the 21st of February. James has typically been considered a less highlighted member of the Biden clan, however, his relevance in the impeachment proceedings against President Biden is of significant weight. James, in conjunction with Hunter Biden, engaged in business with CEFC China Energy Co., a corporate entity noted for its strong ties with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP.) During an examination of the Biden family's questionable activity reports, colloquially referred to as SARs, it was unearthed in March that an associate of the Biden family, known as Rob Walker, had been the recipient of a $3 million wire transfer from the CEFC. Subsequent to this transfer, four members of the Biden family – Hunter, James, Hallie, and an additional unidentified 'Biden,' collectively benefited from a sum of $1.3 million, which is believed to have been a portion of the original $3 million from the wire transfer. Unsettlingly, there have been occasions where President Joe Biden himself was the recipient of personal checks deemed suspicious, handed to him by James. The Oversight Committee, which stumbled upon these checks, has thus expanded its concerns over whether the Biden business engagements have compromised the integrity of Joe Biden's presidential position. The revelation of these questionable checks adds additional weight to the impeachment inquiry focused on President Joe. Late in September, the House Oversight Committee strategically issued a subpoena to James Biden's business entities, Lion Hall Group and JBBSR, Inc. These corporations were summoned as the committee grappled with the issue of identifying 'legitimate services' that were supposedly provided by James Biden's associated companies. Records indicate these entities have been the beneficiaries of no less than 20 wire transactions, totaling an eye-catching $1,398,999 via Hunter's holdings, as outlined in the 2020 Senate Report authored by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI). The purpose of this subpoena issued against James Biden's businesses seemed to be focused on acquiring documents tied to CelticCapri Corp, another corporation linked to President Joe Biden. This corporation reportedly received a vast sum of nearly $10 million in the fiscal year of 2017, however no details were clearly indicated for the sources of this substantial revenue. In response to these developments, James's attorney Paul Fishman issued a statement in November. He asserted, 'There is nothing more to those transactions, and there is nothing wrong with them,' adding that, 'Jim Biden has never involved his brother in his business dealings.' In the ongoing pursuit of truth, it becomes clear that the relationships James Biden maintained with foreign entities have come under substantial scrutiny. This scrutiny centres particularly on ties with CEFC China Energy Co., an organization known for its close connections to the Chinese Communist Party. In this context, these financial ties raise some alarm bells, given the potential influence foreign entities could wield over American affairs. The Biden family's financial affairs have thus moved to the center stage. The collective accrual of $1.3 million from the $3 million transaction initiated by the CEFC towards Rob Walker, an associate of the family, bolsters this concern, especially when four members of the Biden family benefitted from this sum. Importantly, the reveal of these financial transactions raises issues regarding how the official duties of President Joe Biden may be influenced. Intriguingly, not even President Biden himself could escape the heat of these investigations. There were instances of the president accepting personal checks from James, a fact that is fraught with the potential undermining of the integrity of the highest office in the land. The Oversight Committee's discovery of these checks seemingly justifies the possibility that the Biden business dealings could have direct implications on Biden's presidency. In another twist, both Lion Hall Group and JBBSR Inc, associated with James Biden, were presented with subpoenas issued by the House Oversight Committee last September. The Committee's aim was to dig into the legitimacy of the services these corporations claimed to offer. The Senate Report of 2020 indicates that these companies had benefited from numerous wire transfers via Hunter Biden's entities, a financial movement that necessitated further probing. Adding to the intrigue, the lion's share of the inquiry appeared to target records associated with CelticCapri Corp, another corporation held by President Biden. In 2017, this corporation saw an influx of almost $10 million. Questions have naturally arisen due to the lack of clarity regarding the sources of these substantial funds. As these events unravel, Paul Fishman, lawyer to James Biden, strongly defended his client's business activities. His official statement rejected any notions of dubious dealings or inappropriate foreign relations. While he insists that no wrongdoing has taken place, the specific details of these transactions remain shrouded in ambiguity. It is clear that the House impeachment inquiry is far from concluded. With new information being brought to light, the explicit need for transparency and accountability is paramount, especially given the potential implications these dealings may present to the presidency and national security as a whole. It is also important to consider the link between James Biden's business activities and any potential repercussions they may have on the overall integrity of the Biden administration. The presence of financial connections with foreign entities, especially if ambiguous in their nature, poses questions concerning interference and influence over U.S. politics. As the oversight committees continue their quest for obtaining comprehensive insights on these issues, it is essential for Americans to remain informed and involved. The outcomes of these inquiries hold significant importance for the country, given their potential to steer national politics. As the quest for accountability continues, one can only hope for enhanced transparency and resolved ambiguities in the coming days. In this age where the integrity of political offices and administrations could potentially hang in the balance, seeking the truth is more important than ever. How can the simple act of paying attention make you more creative and spark joy in your every day life?Rob Walker, the acclaimed author of "The Art of Noticing," is here to show you how to use your attention to sharpen your senses, attune to your inner creator, and uncover hidden beauty and meaning in everyday moments.During the interview, we discuss one of my favorite exercises for honing your observational skills, The Color Walk, and how you can begin to use it to engage your own Art of Noticing. Rob emphasizes how this simple (and fun!) challenge can help us slow down, pay attention, and savor the richness of the present moment.Rob also shares his passion for demystifying mindfulness practices, highlighting how accessing the benefits of presence does NOT require you to be a perfect yogi or a meditation guru (or even a breathworker!) Though I am a breathwork facilitator and teach some of the more "intensive" mindfulness practices, I am in complete agreement with him on this and a big advocate for incorporating mindfulness in the ways that feel great to you! One of the most practice applications of The Art of Noticing that I use in my coaching is supporting people in discerning what is meaningful to them – which is an underlying theme Rob mentions in the episode.Whether you're an artist, a business professional, or simply someone seeking a more meaningful existence, this conversation will help you untether the creative inside of you. Listen to this episode to hear:Why paying attention pays off.How simple creative exercises can train your brain in mindfulness. How noticing the world around you can support you in becoming more creative. Why the things that only you notice are where you should be paying the most attention. After listening to this episode:Take yourself on a Color Walk!Use the Art of Noticing to start noticing things that bring you joy.The big, important question from this episode:Is chili a soup?  (What do you think?) MEET ROB WALKERRob Walker is a columnist and journalist covering design, technology, business, the arts, and other subjects for a variety of publications, including The New York Times, Fast Company, The Atlantic, NewYorker.com, Design Observer, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Lifeacker. At the end of May 1988, rebels from the Somali National Movement launched a series of lightening attacks on cities in northern Somalia - the area that today is the self-declared republic of Somaliland. The rebels were fighting against the military dictatorship of President Siad Barre. By the start of June, they had taken control of most of Hargeisa, the biggest city in the north. Government forces fell back to Hargeisa airport and other areas on the outskirts and were ordered to begin the indiscriminate bombardment of the city. At the time Ahmed Mohamed Hassan was a fighter pilot in the Somali air force. He now faced a choice: join other pilots in bombing the city or refuse and face the prospect of being shot. He's been talking to Rob Walker. (Photo: Ahmed Mohamed Hassan in 2023. Credit: Ahmed Mohamed Hassan)

Devine states: “Luft told them about [Chinese state-controlled energy company] CEFC payments to Hunter and Jim Biden, and that Biden family associate Rob Walker was involved in distributing payments, a fact later corroborated by subpoenaed bank records released by the House Oversight Committee showing Walker funneling more than $1 million from China to at least three of President Biden's relatives.” You can read the full editorial here: https://nypost.com/2023/05/31/missing-biden-family-corruption-probe-witness-gal-luft-speaks-out-living-as-fugitive-in-undisclosed-location/ 4:05pm- During an interview with Bloomberg News, JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon hinted that he may consider running president.
