The last Word Cup match between the United States and Iran 24 years ago was one of the most politically charged matches in soccer history. This time around, the political overtones are just as strong and relations perhaps even more fraught as the U.S. and Iran face off in Qatar. The luxury brand, Balenciaga has apologized over ads that showed children holding teddy bears in bondage gear and others featuring documents about child sexual abuse law as a prop. #TerrorInTheSkies.
JD and Josiah Bosch kick off the week recapping Canada's loss to Croatia, eliminating them from the World Cup. Sportsnet soccer analyst James Sharman adds to the conversation by discussing the impact of just qualifying for the tournament, how Canadian fans should feel after being knocked out, and why the future is bright for 2026 (10:23). Later on, the guys review all the action from Week 12 in the NFL and offer their picks for tonight's Steelers-Colts matchup, presented by DraftKings (40:34). Next up, Super Bowl champion Greg Jennings joins JD for a game of "Contender or Pretender!" Surely it's every football fan's dream to watch the world cup live and support their team. Imagine then being offered free tickets, accommodation and even a daily allowance to do so. For some fans heading to Qatar this November that is exactly what has happened. But like all deals that look too good to be true, here too, there is a catch. Paid fans will be expected to be ambassadors for the tournament if they are picked to be a fan leader. Fan leaders, as they are being called, will be invited to the opening ceremony on the 20th of November and will take part in a filmed five-minute, fan-themed section before the match starts. What does being a fan leader mean? Why is Qatar offering this? What is controversial about this program? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! It's Wednesday 16th November 2022, in this evening's show we are discussing the future of Michael Appleton as the ‘Pool crashed to their fourth defeat on the bounce against lowly and managerless Wigan at the DW Stadium last Saturday, as we go into the Word Cup break in the relegation zone SEASIDE SEVEN The turnout - Around 3,500 fans in attendance, great support although deafened by the loudest ever PA system known to man. And the last post - was weirdly applauded and also disrespected by some fans The goalkeeper - Maxwell keeps the shirt, what has Grimmy done to not get a look in given Maxwell's indifferent form? Spoke to Grimmy in Costa. Three changes for the Seasiders fixture against Connolly, Williams and Lavery all start Marv was sent off again - Terrible decision-making yet again, sent off and is regressing badly this season, a liability almost. Does anyone care to speculate the reasons why? And was it a pen? Big Gaz Boom! - Dragged one wide early doors but what a strike from Madine, hunger, desire and great technical ability. Corner fiasco - Never a corner in the first place but laughable defending. No one marking either post. Who's to blame for that? On Tilt to score the winner. With the constant barrage of balls into the box in the second half, no surprise Wigan eventually put one in. Sacked in the morning - Our responses to hearing that TALKING POINT Post-match policing operation in Wigan. Blackpool fans were batoned and assaulted by GMP on the walk back to the train station. In this week's show… So seeing that the 2022 World Cup is about to begin this weekend Sunday the 20th of November and it's set to finish on Sunday the 18th of December.DJ JT and DJ Chappers decided to join forces once again to bring you a Word Cup themed show, so they've put together a playlist from World Cup years 1990 through to 2022. Both of your DJs have chosen 2 songs from each World Cup year, but they haven't only picked football songs or official World Cup songs, the majority of the songs they've picked were in the charts during the period of each tournament, so with all the differing song choices it's going to be a bit of an alternative World Cup show featuring a perfect balance of music and football chat with plenty of laughs and banter thrown in for good measure! Even if you aren't a fan of football there's still something for you, as always Bounce FM's got you covered! Come on the 3 lions, for king and country!

MS Dhoni has not been playing since the World Cup in July 2019. There is lot of talk going on among cricket fans regarding whether we could see him with Team India again. Here’s our discussion on this subject.
Lewis is joined by Welsh rugby star and Bath player Jamie Roberts as they reflect on the latest Word Cup action, looking back on Wales vs France and make their predictions for the Wales vs South Africa and England vs New Zealand semi final game. While Leon is over in Japan (at last!) and brings us World Cup memories from former head coach of Scotland and Edinburgh rugby, Frank Hadden. Newport born and Cardiff bred Jamie Roberts is not a man that likes to rest on his laurels. Whether he’s out on the field training, studying medicine, dabbling in punditry or playing on stage with the Manic Street Preachers, Jamie seizes an opportunity when he’s presented with it. In this episode, Jamie chats to Lewis about how he juggles life on and off the field as he studies for his fourth degree, playing for the Harlequins, disappointments in the 2009 Heineken Cup, gaining perspective after career lows and why a move to France in 2013 marked the best year of his life to date. The 2018 FIFA World Cup needless to say made me SO happy! :)!

The Equalizer Podcast Team is here to break all of it down, starting with Dan Lauletta and Chelsey Bush talking about what last year's playoff contenders need to do to keep their momentum in 2019. Later, Dan and Claire Watkins talk about what the other teams in the league need to do to surge into post-season contention, and perhaps most importantly in a Word Cup year, when in the year top squads might be vulnerable to dropped points. Stay tuned for Part II with John Halloran and the whole squad's 2019 predictions later this week!
