Mary, is Board Certified as an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She got her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill (go Tarheeels), and worked for more than 20 years as a registered nurse in general medicine, surgery, hospice care and psychiatry before returning to graduate school at Vanderbilt in 2006 to obtain a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing.She is skilled in many areas, and I know her patients value her and rely on her a great deal. Frances is a Licensed Professional Counselor who entered the mental health field in 2002. Her experience includes working in nonprofit community mental health, schools, family-based treatment, crisis counseling, employee assistance counseling, integrated behavioral health, and private practice settings. She received a degree in Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University and later completed a Master of Arts in Counseling. She enjoys working with individuals as well as couples and families. Her focus is on providing support and guidance to those experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety, stressful life circumstances, relationship challenges, grief/ bereavement, past trauma, family and parenting dynamics, and career/work related issues. She also is trained to provide clinical supervision to new counselors helping to continue the great work being done in the field.Frances provides a place for people to explore their story, engage their heart, and develop a deeper sense of awareness. She brings a well-rounded clinical approach to counseling that incorporates multiple aspects of a person's life. Dr Cochran currently works as the medical director of the Nashville Center for Hope & Healing and NeuroScience and TMS Treatment Centers. Dr Cochran has experience treating a variety of psychiatric conditions, using a comprehensive approach with therapy, counseling, pharmacogenomic testing, medication, and neuromodulation such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation since 2011. Dr Cochran lectures locally and internationally on TMS treatment for depression, and the benefits and limitations of pharamacogenetics.
