Sometimes I have a free hour or two, and my favorite activity is to put in my AirPods, listen to a podcast, and walk. It feels so free and renewing, and sometimes it's where I come up with my best ideas for this podcast. Recently, I was listening to This American Life, Suddenly! A Mirror! and a story in it made me think - how many of us are living our lives defined by past experiences that have encoded us with SHAME? Too many, I presume. Despite coming from different industries, Lacey and Amanda share how they got into the freight business and continue to thrive, their challenges due to changing market conditions, and their focus on promoting a work-life balance, creating standard operating procedures, training manuals, and KPIs to enhance operational scalability!   About Lacey Olson and Amanda Haire Lacey Olson is the Co-owner of Transport Express, a Minnesota-based freight brokerage she acquired with her business partner, Amanda Haire, in 2021. She began her career in investment banking before taking a hiatus to raise her three boys. Today, she holds an MBA and co-owns a concrete and masonry company with her husband. Her experience spans finance, logistics, construction, and real estate investing—all rooted in a drive to build strong, values-aligned businesses. Lacey believes momentum comes from doing the little things well and brings a steady, thoughtful approach to entrepreneurship. Amanda Haire grew up around entrepreneurship — watching her dad run a third-generation lumber yard sparked her own desire to build something lasting. Before entering the transportation industry, she spent over a decade as a paramedic, a role that taught her to lead with calm and purpose under pressure. Lisa and I found ourselves talking about a frequently asked question in our communities: Won't thinking about my dark stuff make me worse? This is a typical fear of many people endeavoring TMS work. I have such empathy for the perceived quandary - it makes sense that paying attention to seemingly negative content might make it grow. Yet, we both know this is the opposite of truth. Then Lisa suggested a juxtaposition: let's consider the difference between rumination and excavation. Whereas rumination is automatic and unproductive, excavation is intentional and leads to healing. I took the challenge of explaining it through the lens of JournalSpeak, and here we are! I think this episode will enable you to challenge your resistance and open yourself to the incredible transformation that JournalSpeak offers. Lots of love from both of us! Pourquoi les ultrasons seraient-ils efficaces contre la dépression ?

Choses à Savoir SANTE

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 12, 2025 2:06

Holistic Healing: Rhonda Hodge's Approach to Mental Wellness and Neurodiversity

Living the Dream with Curveball

Send us a textThe mental health landscape has fundamentally shifted, especially in the wake of COVID-19. Rhonda Hodge, founder of Harmony Psychiatric Services, offers a refreshing alternative to the conventional 15-minute medication check-ups that have dominated psychiatric care. With dual credentials as both a therapist and nurse practitioner, Hodge created her practice to treat patients holistically—combining medication management with therapy, movement, and nutrition support. What sets Harmony apart is their commitment to treating humans, not just symptoms. Hodge poignantly shares how witnessing an over-medicated foster child inspired her career pivot: "I had to hold up her head because she was so over-medicated and I just knew that things needed to be done differently." This experience catalyzed her mission to create psychiatric care that truly sees the whole person. Her practice has evolved to include transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for treatment-resistant depression, hiking groups, academic coaching, and executive functioning support. The conversation takes a fascinating turn when Hodge discusses neurodiversity as a brain style rather than a disorder. She celebrates the engineers, entrepreneurs, and brilliant minds who think differently, while acknowledging the pandemic's role in revealing neurodiversity as people lost their ability to "mask" during isolation. Equally compelling is her transparent approach to provider wellness—creating flexible schedules that honor her team's personal lives—which directly translates to better patient care. As mental health needs continue to escalate nationwide, Harmony is expanding geographically while maintaining their person-centered philosophy. Perhaps most touching is Hodge's acknowledgment of how difficult seeking help can be: "That first call is actually really hard to make." Whether you're struggling personally or supporting someone who is, this conversation offers both practical guidance and deeply compassionate insights. Whether you're an aspiring or experienced freight broker, listen to this episode with our returning guest from Rocket Shipping, Gabe Pankonin, as he shares his expert insights on upcoming NMFC code changes! Gabe explains how the NMFC changes could represent a significant shift in transportation, the opportunities for brokers to provide proactive analysis, and more about cold calling success, resolving operational challenges, and understanding the impact of class changes!   About Gabe Pankonin Gabe Pankonin has always had a knack for sales and relationships - a skillset that has led him to run a successful, fast-growing freight startup in the industry. After several years servicing E-comm companies moving big and bulky freight, one painful reality set in: Brands had the marketing skills to grow quickly, but they were NO match for outdated LTL shipping solutions. Gabe saw this issue plaguing the LTL space...that as shippers get bigger and start to handle more shipments, half of their business turns into the logistics of just getting things to people's homes Which is why he started Rocket Shipping; Mid-Market Managed Transportation! Rocket's Core Values are an extension of Gabe's deeply held beliefs. Faith, Family, Joy, Grit, and Integrity. Ultimately, the goal Gabe set for Rocket has and always will be to build predictable and repeatable revenue and to impact the people who work with and at Rocket Shipping for many years to come!

Kristin Kay of Manhattan Associates talks about their Active TMS, continuous innovation & automated testing, & why transportation is more complex than ever. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS:   [04.20] An introduction to Kristin, and Manhattan Associates. “We don't view supply chain as a cost center – it can be a competitive advantage, if you start to remove some of the siloes between your solutions.” [06.18] The biggest impacts on the transportation industry right now, and why the industry is more complex than ever before. “It's a whirlwind! We have a lot of different things coming into play. Macro economic shifts, sky high customer expectations, pressure to hit sustainability targets… Depending on the industry, the days of just managing your transportation are gone.” [09.17] Why Transportation Management Systems often come with their own set of problems, and the biggest TMS challenges Manhattan see with their customers. “Whatever challenge comes up, sometimes that challenge isn't the biggest problem. The problem is how inflexible either your systems or operations are. If they're inflexible, you don't have options.” “The burden of maintaining integrations between all of these systems takes a lot of time. We find that teams are spending more time managing their systems and TMS than managing their freight. And that can be a red flag wherever you have volatility.” “As things change, your pendulum swings between ‘I really need to save money' to ‘I really need to give service to customers'… But there is an answer between speed and cost, and we need to be able to react to that.” [12.58] What connectivity and integration speed and ease looks like with Manhattan's Active TMS, and the impact on key focus areas like visibility, collaboration and flexibility. “Transportation is a team sport… And that connectivity is the heartbeat of agility.” “If you're going to do any software implementation, decide: ‘What are my key KPIs, how do I know what's right, how do I build that confidence?' So that when I turn that switch on, I'm getting those benefits – not just creating more questions.” [16.57] Manual versus automated testing, how automated testing works with Manhattan, and the business benefits of continuous validation and accelerated deployments. [19.37] How automated testing can help to reduce risk and allow businesses to make informed, data-driven decisions in a climate filled with risk and unexpected disruption. [23.34] The importance of communication and transparency, the power of partnership, and how customer-driven enhancements make Manhattan's Active Transportation Management unique. “True innovation can't happen in isolation, it happens through partnership.” “It really comes down to the end user experience. If that's bad, it doesn't matter how good your integration is, or how great your reporting is, or how fast you can change. If people don't like using the product, you're going to have trouble.” [27.29] Why scalability means more than just scaling up or down, and how continuous innovation helps businesses with future-proofing, allowing them to stay ahead of the game without having to constantly overhaul systems. [32.24] What Manhattan's synchronization of operations and end-to-end unification mean for teams and businesses. [35.59] A case study exploring how Manhattan helped a grocery client shift their mindset, unify, embrace dynamic planning and unlock big benefits. Dear friends, Next week we're kicking off the recording of brand-new podcasts in the studio (can't wait!), but this week you can watch a conversation “from the archives.” Well… archives… This conversation may be a few years old, but it might be more relevant now than ever before. At the time, it was removed from YouTube before we could even hit the publish button, but YouTube has become a bit more lenient in what is and isn't allowed (surprise), so we thought now would be a perfect moment to try again. We're talking, of course, about none other than… David Icke. “They're not after your body, they're after your mind.” The conversation took place during the height of the corona period. Traveling was difficult, but thanks to a few special people, it still became possible. Marcel Messing made the connection with David, and through various channels, someone came our way who was willing to fly us to the Isle of Wight in his own plane. Through the storm, with an umbrella on the tiny airstrip, David was there to welcome us. That story alone would've made for a great podcast. We talked about control, manipulation, and the system behind it all. About how our perception is shaped on a daily basis, and why true freedom begins with how we view the world. “If you control perception, you control behavior.” Because if you can steer perception, you can control behavior. According to David, what's happening worldwide has nothing to do with health or safety, but everything to do with control over consciousness. Through genetic manipulation, digital IDs, 5G, and surveillance, a structure is being rolled out in which people no longer live—they function. “The idea is to connect everything and everyone to AI.” We're still proud of this powerful conversation, and it absolutely deserves a wider audience. It touches on all the major themes—then, and especially now—like the gender agenda and the climate hoax… Step by step, an anti-human agenda is being implemented. Humanity is being made more synthetic with the goal of complete dependency. And as long as we keep believing in the chaos they create, we'll also accept their order. “Order out of chaos,” as the motto goes of the 33rd degree of Freemasonry. Create the chaos, then offer your order. The Great Reset as the solution to the problem you created yourself. The episode is now online—go listen! And starting next week: brand-new episodes.

Send us a textSupply chain suites distinguish themselves from traditional ERP and analytics platforms by being specifically designed to meet the intricate needs of supply chain-intensive industries. These industries depend on tightly integrated processes that span forecasting, procurement, logistics, and fulfillment, requiring systems that prioritize supply chain performance rather than treating it as an ancillary function. Supply chain suites address this by offering a unified architecture that blends network planning, execution systems like WMS and TMS, and advanced analytics. This specialized focus enables organizations to enhance agility, minimize lead times, and build resilient, responsive supply chains. In this episode, our host, Sam Gupta, discusses the top 10 supply chain suites in 2025. He also discusses several variables that influence the rankings of these supply chain suites. Finally, he shares the pros and cons of each supply chain suite. Background Soundtrack: Away From You – Mauro SommFor more information on growth strategies for SMBs using ERP and digital transformation, visit our community at wbs. rocks or elevatiq.com. Sean Hershey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York who specializes in using mind-body work to help his clients end their chronic pain and, in his words, "truly learn to be themselves." He's the host of a new podcast called The Mind-Body Medicine for Chronic Pain, and in that podcast he works to, piece by piece, share the principles and practices of mindbody healing.I love Sean's honest and humble approach (he's a Midwesterner, just like me, who grew up in an Irish Catholic community in St. Paul, Minnesota) and think you will too. In this conversation Sean and I talk about the paradox of mindbody healing -- as we embrace our true selves and our body pain goes down, our feelings of separation from others can increase. This of course does not mean we shouldn't do it -- it's just that this angle is not covered as frequently as the success stories are.Sean and I also share parts of our journey and talk hip pain and what we've learned about it. We talk about what being a therapist pre-mindbody vs post-mindbody looks like for him. And of course we discuss our shared understanding of the TMS (tension myoneural syndrome) personality.Website: https://www.mindbodymedicineforchronicpain.com/Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/2w673beYfZXmfpznyvaYQgInstagram:  https://www.instagram.com/my_gay_therapist/
