Send me a messageWhat happens when last-mile delivery stops being a logistics function and starts becoming a strategic differentiator? It changes how you think about cost, resilience, sustainability, and even customer retention. In this week's episode of the Resilient Supply Chain Podcast, I'm joined by Nishith Rastogi, Founder and CEO of Locus, to explore why last mile has become one of the most consequential decision layers in modern supply chains. For leaders focused on supply chain resilience, sustainability, risk, data, and visibility, this matters because delivery is no longer just about moving goods. It's about making better decisions, faster, in environments where complexity keeps rising and customer tolerance keeps falling. We break down why traditional TMS and routing models struggle when delivery networks span stores, warehouses, captive fleets, 3PLs, gig capacity, and rising service expectations. You'll hear why “more data” is not the answer on its own, and why the real advantage now comes from turning that data into real-time decisions that improve cost, service, and emissions in parallel. We also get into the growing role of AI in logistics, the limits of rules-based automation, and why resilience increasingly depends on optionality, adaptability, and reducing dependence on tribal knowledge. One of the sharpest ideas in the episode is this: if you miss a linehaul slot, you lose a day; if you miss a customer delivery slot, you may lose the customer.

In this episode of The New Warehouse Podcast, Kevin chats with Josh Owen of Cycle Labs live from Manifest. Josh, who has spent more than 20 years deploying supply chain systems, shares how warehouse technology has evolved from manual operations to layered WMS, TMS, OMS, and WES environments. As systems have multiplied, so has complexity. Cycle Labs focuses on enterprise test automation, helping organizations introduce change faster while maintaining quality. The conversation explores why warehouses avoid change, how poor testing erodes trust, and why continuous automation is becoming essential in modern distribution environments.Learn more about sponsors here: EPG, iAutomate, Big Joe Forklifts, Surgere, Ocado Intelligent Automation Follow us on LinkedIn and YouTube.Support the show
In "Freight Tech Strategy: Avoiding the Implementation Trap with JBF's Brad Forester", Joe Lynch and Brad Forester, Founder and Managing Partner of JBF Consulting, discuss the critical need for a strategic roadmap to ensure logistics technology delivers real ROI rather than becoming a costly mistake. About Brad Forester Brad Forester is the Founder and Managing Partner of JBF Consulting, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in transportation strategy, logistics technology, and supply chain transformation. A recognized industry expert, Brad has advised Fortune 500 companies and high-growth brands on complex global transportation initiatives, from network design and technology selection to implementation and value realization. His background spans senior roles in consulting, software, and shipper operations, giving him a uniquely balanced perspective on strategy and execution. Brad is a frequent industry speaker and thought leader on TMS, visibility, and logistics innovation. About JBF Consulting JBF Consulting is a leading logistics strategy advisory and technology integration firm that partners with shippers to transform their logistics and supply chain execution operations. We empower clients to achieve operational efficiency and scalable, sustainable value through strategy development, roadmap orchestration, unbiased technology selection, expert implementation, data-driven insights, and ongoing managed services. For over two decades, our client-centric approach and alliances with best-of-breed solution providers have ensured that every strategy and solution we deliver drives measurable impact, long-term success, and customer satisfaction. Key Takeaways: Freight Tech Strategy: Avoiding the Implementation Trap In "Freight Tech Strategy: Avoiding the Implementation Trap with JBF's Brad Forester", Joe Lynch and Brad Forester, Founder and Managing Partner of JBF Consulting, discuss the critical need for a strategic roadmap to ensure logistics technology delivers real ROI rather than becoming a costly mistake. The Trap is Set Early: Implementation failures (going over budget or missing ROI) are usually symptoms of a missing strategy months prior, rather than errors made during the setup itself. Strategy as Insurance: Investing just 1% to 2% of your budget in a strategic assessment acts as an insurance policy, potentially mitigating up to 80% of common implementation risks. "Slow is Steady, Steady is Fast": Rushing to execute without "future-casting" (planning for growth or acquisitions 5–10 years out) leads to the "$10 million mistake"—having to rip out and replace a system that no longer fits. Create a Shipper Profile: Use a "matchmaking" approach to tech. A tool that works for a retail giant might fail for a bulk chemical shipper; you must find the specific vendor that matches your unique mode mix. The Hybrid Tech Trend: Large shippers are increasingly owning the software and data while outsourcing physical operations, allowing them to switch 3PLs without losing their historical data or visibility. Beware of Shiny Objects: Avoid "AI for AI's sake." Don't buy a hammer and then go looking for a nail; ensure any new tech solves a defined problem statement rather than just chasing industry hype. Phase Two is a Myth: Brad warns that "Phase Two never comes." If you don't build the necessary capabilities into the initial launch, the project often stalls at 75% completion, and the promised ROI is never realized. Why Me?: The Brain on Tilt by Dr David Arthur Kent https://www.amazon.com/Why-Me-David-Arthur-Kent/dp/B0FZSF5PW4 Davidkentauthor.com This book provides a comprehensive overview of mental illness, emphasizing that these conditions are biological and medical in nature, not signs of weakness or moral failings. It focuses heavily on evidence-based treatment, detailing how recovery is possible for conditions ranging from depression and OCD to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, often through a combination of medication, psychotherapy (such as CBT, DBT, and ERP), and innovative biological interventions like TMS and ECT. A critical theme is the essential role of family support and education in improving outcomes and reducing relapse rates, alongside the need to combat stigma which remains a major barrier to seeking timely and effective help. The book illustrates these concepts through detailed case studies of individuals managing chronic illnesses successfully, redefining recovery as functional improvement rather than chasing a complete cure. About the author Board-certified psychiatrist with 30+ years of clinical expertise in mental health treatment and neuropsychiatry. Founder and owner of NuMe TMS Clinics in Idaho, specializing in advanced brain stimulation therapies (TMS, Deep TMS, ECT) for treatment-resistant mental illness. Education & Research Background: Medical degree: University of Iowa School of Medicine Psychiatric residency: University of Iowa (1986-1990) Conducted influential research on conversion disorders and functional neurological conditions Contributed to multi-site clinical studies on Deep TMS for OCD Clinical Philosophy: Evidence-based medicine combined with compassionate, patient-centered care. Mental illness is a treatable medical condition—not a character flaw. Recovery is possible. Mission: Reduce mental health stigma through education, advance access to innovative treatments, and help people understand that proper psychiatric care offers genuine hope for meaningful recovery.
Nauta is building the data infrastructure layer for global supply chain, starting with mid-market shippers who manage 600+ suppliers across 40+ countries but lack a single source of truth. Co-founded by Valentina Jordan, who spent six and a half years at Rappi, Nauta targets the $200M-$2B revenue segment where companies face enterprise-level complexity without enterprise resources. In this episode of BUILDERS, Valentina shares how Nauta moved from Excel automation to building data pipes that connect 12-13 stakeholders touching a single product—and why they refuse to run POCs.Topics Discussed:Why shippers with ERP, TMS, and WMS systems still run operations in ExcelThe tribal knowledge crisis: 20-30 year operators retiring with undocumented institutional knowledgeNauta's no-POC policy and why it requires contract exit clauses insteadThe cost reduction vs. revenue generation framework that escapes pilot purgatoryBuilding familiar interfaces (Excel-like tables) over novel UX for conservative industriesThe shift from hiding AI capabilities (January 2025) to leading with them (eight months later)GTM Lessons For B2B Founders:Distinguish symptoms from root cause pain in discovery: Most enterprise buyers surface symptoms, not problems. A client reporting penalty costs isn't revealing the root issue—just downstream impact. Valentina uses the five whys methodology to drill into actual pain: "A client can tell me, hey, I'm paying X amount of dollars in penalties. That's not necessarily the root cause, it's just a symptom of the actual pain." This prevents building features that address surface-level complaints while missing the structural problem. The real issue might be data fragmentation across systems, lack of visibility into supplier performance, or decision-making bottlenecks—each requiring different solutions.Structure POC alternatives that demand mutual commitment: Nauta kills traditional POCs entirely because "it implies that they are testing us and that it's not a collaborative process." Instead, they offer contract exit clauses if expectations aren't met while requiring upfront commitment. This only works when you have proven results and can confidently deliver value. The insight: POCs create evaluator-vendor dynamics where the burden of proof sits entirely on you. Paid engagements with performance-based exits create partner dynamics where both parties invest in success. For early-stage companies without case studies, this won't work—but once you have repeatable results, test this approach.Layer revenue generation on top of cost reduction: Nauta starts every engagement with 3-4 cost reduction KPIs—penalties, reconciliation time, manual labor automation—then transitions to revenue generation through fill rate optimization and cash-on-cash improvements. "You need to go beyond just cutting costs. That way you transition from a nice to have to a must have." Supply chain has historically been viewed as a cost center; proving top-line impact changes budget conversations entirely. This matters because cost reduction has a ceiling (you can only cut so much), while revenue generation creates expanding budget headroom. Map your product capabilities to both from day one.//Sponsors:Front Lines — We help B2B tech companies launch, manage, and grow podcasts that drive demand, awareness, and thought leadership. www.FrontLines.ioThe Global Talent Co. — We help tech startups find, vet, hire, pay, and retain amazing marketing talent that costs 50-70% less than the US & Europe. www.GlobalTalent.co//Don't Miss: New Podcast Series — How I Hire Senior GTM leaders share the tactical hiring frameworks they use to build winning revenue teams. Learn how to JournalSpeak ➡️ LEARN HOW: https://tinyurl.com/2ph33u2s In this episode, I welcome Kamila Tan back to the podcast for a conversation that grew out of a moment at the end of her first appearance. As we were wrapping up that episode, we briefly touched on the intersection between athletics and eating disorders. Kamila shared about her experience struggling with disordered eating while competing in beach volleyball, and I spoke about what I've observed in my daughter's dance communities, where the pressure around body image and performance can be intense. It was clear there was a much bigger conversation waiting to happen, so I invited her back so we could explore this important topic more deeply. Together we talk about the often-overlooked connection between eating disorders, digestive issues like IBS, and mindbody/TMS symptoms. Kamila shares openly about her TMS recovery journey and the ways patterns around control, perfectionism, and safety can become entangled with both physical symptoms and our relationship with food. We explore how the nervous system responds to the pressures of athletic culture and high-performance environments, and what it can look like to begin unwinding those patterns on the path to healing. SO much here to dig into! Join us XOOX n. Want your questions answered directly by Nicole?

Cozy Earth makes it easier to get the cozy, breathable sleep your body (and your little one) deserve. Use code HEHE at https://cozyearth.com/ for 20% off your order and treat yourself to the sleep you've been dreaming of. In this episode, HeHe sits down with Dr. Kristin Lasseter to unpack perinatal mental health with a focus on postpartum anxiety (PPA) versus postpartum depression (PPD), how they differ, and when “baby blues” may signal something more. While mood shifts are common in the early postpartum days, symptoms that persist beyond a couple of weeks, disrupt sleep, bring constant anxiety or sadness, intrusive thoughts, or thoughts of death deserve real support. They talk candidly about the guilt, shame, and fear of judgment that keep many women silent, and why telling one safe person can be a powerful first step. The conversation explores common risk factors like fertility struggles, pregnancy or birth complications, and PMDD, along with the significant hormonal shift that happens after the placenta is delivered and why the brain can feel especially vulnerable during that window. HeHe and Dr. Lasseter also navigate the often-stigmatized topic of psychiatric medication during pregnancy and postpartum. They discuss why abruptly stopping medication is usually unsafe, how to thoughtfully weigh medication risks against the risks of untreated mental illness, what research tells us about breastfeeding compatibility, and what to expect when starting or adjusting treatment. They touch on newer, faster-acting postpartum depression options, therapy modalities like CBT and EMDR, and additional treatments such as TMS and ECT. The episode closes with an honest conversation about bounce-back culture, social media pressure, and choosing support systems that protect a mother's mental health. Throughout, the message is clear: evidence-based care matters, suffering in silence isn't a badge of honor, and there is no shame in using medication when it's needed. 0:00 - Introduction: Mental Health Medications in Pregnancy & Postpartum 4:36 - Postpartum Anxiety vs Postpartum Depression: Key Differences 6:01 - Normal Baby Blues vs Red Flags: When to Seek Help 9:51 - Intrusive Thoughts & Breaking the Stigma 17:26 - Medication Safety in Pregnancy: What You Need to Know 24:43 - Should You Stop Your Meds When Pregnant? 30:03 - Hormones & Mental Health: The Postpartum Crash 43:56 - Breastfeeding While on Psychiatric Medications 51:26 - How Long Should You Stay on Medication? 60:50 - Fighting the "Bounce Back" Culture & Social Media's Impact Guest Bio: Kristin Yeung Lasseter, MD is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist in Texas who specializes in Reproductive Psychiatry and Women's Mental Health. In "Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions with Nauta's Valentina Jordan", Joe Lynch and Valentina Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, discuss how structuring fragmented data turns supply chain silos into actionable revenue. About Valentina Jordan Valentina Jordan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, where she is re-engineering supply chains through clean AI data infrastructure. Previously, Valentina led product for Rappi's largest business segment, helping build and scale the core product stack behind Latin America's largest delivery platform, before bringing that same operational rigor to leadership roles at Amazon. At Nauta, Valentina brings a product-first, systems-level perspective to rethinking how supply chains operate, tackling the industry's most foundational challenge: building clean, structured data infrastructure that enables smarter decision-making. About Nauta Nauta is the AI-native operating system that connects your inventory, logistics, and procurement data into one intelligent layer. By acting as an intelligent membrane over existing ERP, TMS, and WMS systems, Nauta eliminates "data graveyards" by unifying fragmented data from emails, documents, and spreadsheets into a single source of truth. The platform moves beyond simple visibility, providing SKU-level insights and automated workflows that allow shippers to proactively manage exception handling and cash flow. Trusted by multinational leaders in the food, beverage, and retail sectors including distributors for brands like New Balance, Modelo, and L'Oreal, Nauta manages data for enterprises representing over $15B in annual sales. SOC 2 Type II certified, the platform empowers manufacturers and retailers to reduce container lifecycle times, prevent stockouts, and eliminate costly penalties like detention fees. Nauta's mission is to provide the standardized "rails of data infrastructure" necessary for truly autonomous and resilient global supply chains. Key Takeaways: Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions In "Is Your ERP a Data Graveyard: How to Unlock Millions with Nauta's Valentina Jordan", Joe Lynch and Valentina Jordan, Co-Founder and CEO of Nauta, discuss how structuring fragmented data turns supply chain silos into actionable revenue. The "Data Fragmentation" Mess: Global shippers are stuck with data trapped in emails, PDFs, and clunky legacy systems. This chaos forces teams to waste 75% of their day babysitting spreadsheets instead of making moves that actually scale the business. One Single Source of Truth: Nauta fixes this as an AI-native engine that pulls those messy data streams into one place. From finance to procurement, everyone works off the same live data—killing "tribal knowledge" for good. The Real Cost of Stockouts: For brands like Modelo or L'Oreal, a stockout isn't just a missed sale; it's a hit to your reputation and a massive financial penalty. Nauta shifts you from reactive "firefighting" to proactive prevention. Saving Millions in Revenue: Using predictive analytics, Nauta's inventory engine flags risks weeks in advance. Deze week in The Trueman Show: Hans Scheffers Dag vrienden!
What if your symptoms aren't the problem… but protection? In this episode, Dani unpacks a powerful pattern so many women find themselves in: finally feeling better… and then immediately trying to optimize something.More tracking. More control. More tweaking. More “fixing.”Until the nervous system is dysregulated again. This conversation explores the uncomfortable space that opens up when symptoms calm down — the vacuum that leaves us asking, “What's next? What do I fix now?” And what if that urge to optimize is actually a need to control?Dani shares:Why “feeling steady” can feel unsafeHow optimization can be disguised fearThe hidden comfort of micromanaging your bodyThe powerful question: What if all your symptoms disappeared tomorrow? How symptoms can function as protection (TMS lens)Period pain, body composition, and the “I should be there by now” beliefRadical self-love vs. fear-based healingWhy we often wait to live our lives until our bodies are “perfect”How staying small can feel safer than being seenReframing “nothing to fix” as peacePractical ways to move forward without waiting for symptoms to disappearThis episode dives deep into the emotional layers beneath physical symptoms — from weight and body composition to career avoidance and period pain — and invites you to consider that your body may not be broken… it may be protecting you.If you've ever thought:“I'll start living once I fix this.”“I should be further along by now.”“I just need to optimize one more thing…”This conversation is for you.Healing isn't always about adding more. If you're on antidepressants and your sex drive has completely disappeared, I want you to know that you're not broken, and you don't have to choose between feeling mentally well and having a fulfilling sex life. SSRIs like Lexapro, Zoloft, and Prozac are genuinely life-changing for so many people, but nobody warns you that they can tank your desire, make orgasms nearly impossible, and quietly wreck your relationship in the process. In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly why this happens, and more importantly, what you can actually do about it. From simple timing hacks to alternative treatments that are showing real promise. In this episode, you'll learn: • Why SSRIs suppress desire and arousal on a hormonal level — and the one hack that can reduce side effects as soon as tonight • How to rebuild your sex drive when both you and your partner are medicated (yes, this is more common than you think) • The alternative treatments — TMS therapy, ketamine, and psilocybin — that are helping people get off antidepressants entirely More Dr. Emily: • Shop With Emily! Why settle for normal when we the target should be peak human health optimization, what I call superhuman? With the billions being put into the biotech industry, wearables, more access to all sorts of techniques, and now the unimaginable power of AI, it truly does seem the limits of health at the moment are boundless. WBSRocks: Business Growth with ERP and Digital Transformation
Send a textTransportation management has evolved into a strategic control point for cost optimization, service reliability, and long-term supply chain resilience. As freight networks grow more fragmented and execution complexity increases, selecting a TMS is no longer about basic load planning or freight rating—it is about architectural fit, operating model alignment, and the platform's ability to support your logistics strategy over time. In this video, we examine the top TMS systems for 2026, beginning with the critical decision factors that should shape your evaluation before reviewing any vendor list. We clarify the differences between true best-of-breed TMS platforms and ERP-embedded or broader supply-chain-suite offerings, and why those distinctions materially impact flexibility, neutrality, and scalability. We also explore the implications of choosing independent software vendors versus platforms tied to logistics service providers, including the tradeoffs between software independence, managed services integration, and network effects. Finally, we discuss how company size, operating model complexity, and industry context influence which TMS architectures are structurally aligned—or misaligned—with your organization's future state. In this episode, our host Sam Gupta discusses the top TMS systems in 2026. He also discusses several variables that influence the rankings of these TMS systems. Finally, he shares the pros and cons of each TMS system.Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNaOtCGwdaIRead: https://www.elevatiq.com/post/top-tms-systems/Questions for Panelists?

The first time I spoke to Dani on this podcast (ep #66) she was in the midst of an awakening - for the first time in 3 years (when at times she'd been in a wheelchair to manage her back pain) she had been pain free for a number of weeks, and she was astounded. This did not happen by chance. Dani is a warrior for the work, and she didn't turn her back on the willingness to believe that this could work for her. Nine months later, Dani's whole life has transformed. Not only did she travel to India to receive her Yoga Teacher Training, but she utilized her graphic design skills and TMS knowledge to create a whole beautiful website dedicated to healing: www.mytmsjourney.com. On her site is a link to her new therapeutic yoga classes, which I hear are phenomenal (and will now be attending despite my panic that I can't do yoga because I'm not bendy!) Members of my community receive their first class completely free. Use code: JOURNALSPEAK. Enjoy Dani's story, insight, and energy. It's such a privilege to walk the path with all of you badass healers. XOOX n. This episode originally aired on October 23, 2020. Learn how to JournalSpeak ➡️ LEARN HOW: https://tinyurl.com/2ph33u2s In this episode, I talk with Alice, who recovered from lifelong IBS and anxiety, and has been able to see things more clearly since she was diagnosed in adulthood with ADHD. You may remember her from our original interview - Season 3, Ep 82! Today, we further explore neurodiversity in TMS recovery and how a sensitive, neurodivergent nervous system is not a flaw—but often a key part of the healing process. Alice shares what it was like to finally understand her symptoms through this lens and how learning to work with her brain, rather than trying to fix it, led to complete recovery. Today, Alice is fully free from IBS and anxiety and has joined our BreakAwake Coaching Team. She now works one-on-one with others, extending her hand and guiding people through the same work that changed her life. This episode is a hopeful, honest conversation about nervous system safety, self-trust, and what's possible when we feel truly understood. Join us!
