Welcome to “I Am All This,” a podcast about what it means to take care of your whole self and show up fully present. Here. Now. Everything we discuss on this podcast is about you, but it’s also much bigger than you. That’s because there’s no separation between what’s healthy for you versus what’s healthy for me and the planet.

This podcast episode is the first lecture in our new Meditation 101 program that starts on Monday, September 14th. Listen in for a conversation and practice with Kait's teacher Kimberly Carson (MPH), whose unique experience combines ancient wisdom with scientific research. In this discussion, Kimberly breaks down common misconceptions about meditation. She also explains why the goal of meditation isn't to clear your mind of thoughts, how you're not failing if you don't feel calm, and more. To wrap up the conversation, Kimberly leads a 10-minute meditation practice designed to stabilize attention and de-escalate the nervous system using the breath. Honoring Dance Music Now with Sherman Harris

Music isn't just for our entertainment. It emerged as a response to oppression. This week's episode features Sherman Harris, a DJ who has spent decades in the music industry playing at parties, appearing at festivals, and working as a radio show producer and host. In this show, Sherman shares his passion for music, and he explains how dance music, rap, hip hop, and R&B came from Black culture and Black artists. My biggest takeaway from the show is that when I listen to music without understanding the context in which it was made, I'm missing the whole point and causing harm. Music is a chance for us to better understand what other people's experiences are like. I hope this podcast episode with Sherman helps you appreciate music in a deeper way—which includes honoring Black artists and the movement behind them. This episode addresses some issues and themes that have been coming up since Black Lives Matter and the global pandemic took center stage. Movement and meditation can't fix white supremacy or keep us safe from COVID-19, but it can give us the clarity we need to stay present, loving, and open during this difficult and wild time. Listen in for a special message from me about how my practice has supported me, how it might be supportive for you too, some initiatives me and my team are rolling out, and more. This show is more personal. I'm so grateful you're a part of this community.
