01 Self Diagnosing: Don't do it

Welcome to the Mental Buzz Podcast. Talking Everything Mental Health with Manny Laws. New Episode Every TuesdayIn this episode, I tackle the question and danger surrounding self-diagnosing a mental health illness or disorder. Having a discussion with a few people recently, it occurred to me that a lot of people have been self-diagnosing themselves or others with mental health disorders. It appears that people have been researching mental health symptoms and disorders online, and affiliating it to how they are feeling or going through, therefore self-diagnosing.The danger with this, is that you may self-diagnose yourself or others with the wrong illness. There are a lot of similar symptoms associated with various mental health disorders, so talking to a health professional will be the wise thing to do. I would advise to restrain from self-diagnosing and talk to a professional. I would love to see your comments on all topics discussed in this podcast, share your stories or concerns and ask any questions you may have. If you would like to get involved in future episodes or have any questions you would like me to discuss in future episodes, please get in touch via: Email: thementalbuzz@gmail.comFollow us on socials @thementalbuzz / Twitter: @mental_buzz Disclaimer: Manny laws is a Mental Health professional with vast experience in the field, however this podcast is for information purposes only and listeners should always consult a professional for personal advice on their care.
