In this episode of Mind Diary, Andy discusses a major concern and issue many are struggling during this time and context. One of the biggest causes of depression and mental health issues starts with the feeling of loneliness and alienation. The premise is that everyone else should be viewed as a surplus to your world, a side character to your movie/show. Everyone around you has their own world to worry about, the only times you interact with another is when your timelines collide and the beautiful part of life called coincidence allows us to share amazing moments with the ones we love and care about. But holistically the only thing that matters is being comfortable with yourself. Moreover, Andy shares two personal anecdotes of his own struggles with alienation and how he coped with it and escape from it.
During this terrible time of the coronavirus, everyone’s plans have been canceled and voided through the unfortunate quarantine. It made me realize what I ABSOLUTELY DIDN’T want in my future. Enjoy the short anecdote and happy Monday!
Uncertainty is something I have touched upon in my sample episodes before, it is an unavoidable aspect of life whenever we step into untouched territories. BUT the reality is uncertainty will always be there, but it is us as individuals that decide on how much we will let it dedicate us. However, it is not all helpless, the cure may be closer than you think. You just have to look for it.
Hey everyone, welcome to my 30-day challenge introduction episode;Today, we'll go over what the 30-day challenge means and how it'll be applied in this podcast. We will also be introducing my first 30-day challenge which is the cold shower challenge. This is my story. Starting off the challenge for me was very rough. First, because I loved warm showers it was something I looked forward to, second because I lived in Toronto, a city where you shiver the second you step foot out of your bed.Cold showers are widely recognized and used for their great physical and psychological benefits. Some of those benefits include:- Reduced stress levels. Regularly taking cold showers imposes a small amount of stress on your body, which leads to a process called hardening. This means that your nervous system gradually gets used to handling moderate levels of stress. The hardening process helps you to keep a cool head, the next time you find yourself in a stressful situation.- A higher level of alertness. Cold showers wake your body up, inducing a higher state of alertness. The cold also stimulates you to take deeper breaths, decreasing the level of CO2 throughout the body, helping you concentrate. Cold showers thus keep you ready and focused throughout the day.- Weight loss. Research has shown that cold showers (and exposure to cold in general), in addition to increasing metabolic rate directly, stimulate the generation of brown fat. Brown fat is a specific type of fat tissue that in turn generates energy by burning calories. Cold showers, then, are an effective tool for people who are looking to lose a few pounds. As of today, I will officially begin my challenge and record the experiences I go through each day/week, the good and the bad. I want to share the entire journey so we can all understand the reasons behind why we struggle to keep these good habits but more importantly why we should.

In this episode, we explore the reasons behind our continuous unconsciousness preference of comfort, Our body LOVES comfort, it seeks it every second of every day, that’s what makes our daily tasks so hard to complete because we always understand the choice of going home and lying down with the TV on. So how do we make sure we have full control over our body when we counter this detrimental diagnose of comfort that we unconsciously crave. To become a master of yourself is no small feat, just as there is no short cut in climbing the el cap of Yosemite with his bare hands. Alex Harold the climber explained: "I had to learn and memorize every single hand grip, every step, thousands of steps, one mistake and that's it." But with those thousands of holds tied into one beautiful swift climb, he conquered 3000 feet of gravel with his bare hands.
In this sample episode, I shared my thoughts on what I believe is the leading cause of our laziness. Frankly, if I told you I was to put in all my time and energy into achieving something realistically possible, we can both agree at some point in my life span I’ll reach that goal. we know we can always be good at something we choose to be good at, so even knowing that, why do we choose not to work hard and instead always try so hard to find the time for "chill"? Why do we spend hours scrolling through Instagram or streaming Netflix or playing video games even though we understand our opportunity cost? In this episode, we will explore this in a more in-depth perspective to help really understand the psychology behind our decision making.
