How often do you head out the door and settle into your running pace almost immediately? This week's ZenRUN Moment is an invitation to do the opposite. On your next run, deliberately spend the first five minutes running slower than feels necessary. It might feel strange at first - maybe even a little frustrating - but stick with it. This isn't about fitness or holding yourself back. It's about giving your body the time it needs to settle into the run. Starting gently allows your breathing to find its rhythm, your muscles to warm up naturally, and your nervous system to relax. Instead of launching into your run feeling rushed, you create space for your body to wake up gradually. Many runners discover they actually feel stronger and more comfortable later in the run because they resisted the urge to push too hard too soon. There's a lesson here that reaches beyond running too. We don't have to sprint into everything we do. Sometimes the best results come from beginning with patience instead of urgency, allowing ourselves time to find our rhythm before asking for our best. On your next run, give yourself permission to ease in. You might be surprised by how much more enjoyable the rest of your run feels when you start gently. Small moments of awareness like this can completely change the way running feels.

THE Presentations Japan Series by Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
The final five minutes of a presentation often determine what the audience remembers about the entire talk. This is the principle of recency at work. People tend to remember most clearly what they heard last. Yet many speakers invest enormous effort in their opening, content and slides, only to allow their conclusion to collapse through poor time management, weak planning or a final sentence that quietly trails off into oblivion. A powerful presentation ending does not happen by accident. It must be designed, rehearsed and delivered with conviction. Why are the final five minutes of a presentation so important? The final five minutes are important because they shape the audience's lasting impression of the speaker and the message. Audience members may forget many of the statistics, examples and explanations they heard during the main body of the presentation. However, they are much more likely to remember the conclusion, especially when it clearly restates the central message and connects it to something relevant in their work or lives. This is particularly important for executives presenting in Japan, where audiences often expect preparation, professionalism and respect for the allotted time. A frantic ending suggests the speaker has not rehearsed properly. A controlled ending signals confidence and credibility. Whether you are addressing a board meeting, delivering a sales presentation or speaking at an industry conference, the conclusion is the final evidence the audience receives about your competence. Do now: Decide what you want the audience to remember after everything else has faded. Build the final five minutes around that one message. What causes so many presentation endings to fail? Most presentation endings fail because speakers include too much content and do not rehearse against the actual time limit. The familiar disaster begins when a presenter suddenly realises there are ten slides remaining and only three minutes left. They apologise, skip important material and race through the deck at a speed no audience can follow. The audience feels cheated. Some of the most useful slides may be abandoned completely, even though those ideas were part of the reason people attended. This problem appears in large multinational companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, startups and professional-services firms. It happens in Tokyo boardrooms, online webinars and international conferences. The technology may change, but poor preparation produces the same result. The solution is painful but simple: trim the presentation. Remove anything that does not directly support the key message. Present the richest residue rather than every fact you discovered during your preparation. Do now: Rehearse with a timer and cut enough material to finish comfortably, not merely technically, within the allocated time. How should a speaker plan the conclusion? A strong conclusion should restate the key message, explain its relevance and direct the audience towards a specific action. The key message must be decided near the beginning of the planning process. It becomes the frame around which the presentation is constructed. The stories, data, examples and visual aids should all strengthen that central idea. During the conclusion, return to the key message using clear and deliberate language. Do not introduce a completely new argument. Instead, help listeners understand why the message matters to them. A leadership audience may need to reconsider how it makes decisions. A sales team may need to change how it approaches buyers. A client may need to approve a proposal or agree to a next meeting. The final call to action should be realistic and specific. "Think about this" is weak. "Review your current presentation and rewrite the final five minutes before Friday" is actionable. Do now: Complete this sentence: "After my presentation, I want the audience to…" Use the answer to shape your conclusion. What should happen after the question-and-answer session? The speaker should reclaim the presentation after the Q&A and deliver a prepared final message. Question-and-answer sessions are unpredictable. An audience member may introduce an unrelated issue, challenge a minor detail or drag the discussion away from the presentation's main purpose. If the event ends immediately after that exchange, the final impression may be shaped by someone else's question rather than by the speaker's message. This is why professional presenters do not allow the Q&A to become the conclusion. They finish the formal content, invite questions and then return to the stage, centre of the room or camera for a brief closing statement. That statement should reconnect the audience to the original theme, summarise the principal benefit and repeat the desired action. In executive and client-facing presentations, this also demonstrates leadership. The speaker remains responsible for the direction of the communication rather than surrendering control to the room. Do now: Prepare a 30- to 60-second post-Q&A close that restores your key message and reinforces the next step. How should the pace and voice change during the conclusion? The conclusion should initially slow the audience down and then build towards a controlled crescendo. Many nervous presenters do the opposite. They rush because they are watching the clock, breathe poorly and allow their words to blur together. Their final sentence loses volume and energy until nobody is certain whether the presentation has actually finished. A professional speaker slows the pace, uses pauses and gives listeners time to process the message. Silence is not the enemy. A well-placed pause creates emphasis and signals confidence. As the presentation approaches its final lines, the speaker can gradually increase vocal energy, conviction and physical presence. Voice, posture, gestures, facial expression and eye contact should combine to strengthen the message. For online presentations, the same principle applies. Look into the camera, sit or stand upright, use purposeful gestures within the frame and finish with a firm vocal landing. Do now: Mark pauses, emphasis and changes of pace directly into your script, then rehearse them until they feel natural. How can a speaker make the ending memorable without sounding rehearsed? The ending becomes natural when the speaker rehearses the structure thoroughly but delivers the words with genuine belief. Some presenters avoid rehearsal because they fear sounding canned. In reality, under-rehearsed speakers are more likely to stare at their slides, search for words and become trapped by their notes. Preparation creates freedom. Once the speaker knows the sequence of ideas, the key phrases and the final line, they can concentrate on the audience rather than on remembering what comes next. Dale Carnegie presentation principles emphasise communicating ideas with enthusiasm, clarity and audience relevance. The aim is not theatrical performance for its own sake. The purpose is to transfer belief, confidence and commitment from the speaker to the audience. The final line deserves particular attention. It should be concise, powerful and easy to deliver. After saying it, stop. Maintain eye contact for a moment and allow the message to land. Do not weaken it with "So, yes, that's about it." Do now: Memorise the final sentence exactly, deliver it with conviction and resist the temptation to add anything afterwards. How to finish a presentation professionally The last five minutes should never become a desperate race against the clock. They are the point where the speaker gathers the argument together, reconnects it to the audience and creates the lasting impression. Plan the conclusion before completing the rest of the presentation. Rehearse the entire talk under realistic conditions. Remove material until you have enough time to slow down, pause and finish with control. After the Q&A, return to the key message. Tell the audience what matters, why it matters and what they should do next. Then increase your energy, bring your voice and body together and deliver a final sentence that sounds like the natural culmination of everything that came before it. Your audience does not merely buy information. They buy your belief, confidence and commitment. Finish strongly and they will remember both your message and you. In this encouraging episode of 5 Minutes of Peace, author, poet, and publisher Dr. Nick Courtright shares a simple yet powerful insight for anyone who has ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or afraid to begin.Nick reflects on the familiar experience of "writer's block," suggesting that it isn't always a lack of inspiration—but often a reluctance to start. Rather than waiting for the perfect idea or the right moment, he encourages us to simply begin. Even if the first words aren't perfect, the creative process has a way of building its own momentum. As we continue taking small steps, our thoughts become clearer, our confidence grows, and inspiration begins to flow. What starts as uncertainty can gradually transform into clarity through action.Nick extends this lesson beyond writing. Whether we're pursuing a creative dream, launching a new project, or making an important life change, he reminds us that meaningful opportunities often come to those who are willing to put themselves out into the world. Instead of waiting for circumstances to change, we can choose to take the next step with courage and trust. His closing message is both practical and inspiring: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Sometimes peace isn't found in having all the answers—it begins with the willingness to move forward, one small action at a time.About Today's GuestDr. Nick Courtright is the founder and CEO of Atmosphere Press, an independent publishing company based in Austin, Texas. A poet, author, editor, and publishing advocate, Nick is passionate about helping writers bring their stories and ideas into the world. Recurring Revenue Multiplies Your Selling Effort - Selling $1.5M in one-time design build work every year gets you $1.5M, but selling $1.5M in three-year contracts stacks to $4.5M in revenue by year three. 12-Month Billing Reduces Snow Risk - Guaranteed 12-month billing on seasonal contracts is what makes it safe to invest in the loaders, plows, and equipment growth requires. Not Everyone Thinks Like You Do - The older you get, the more you realize your thought process is unique, which means clarity and repetition in communication matter more than you think. A Queensland judge just did something extraordinary.During sentencing, a defence barrister tried to minimise a grown man's sexual act with a 14‑year‑old child by saying it “only lasted five minutes.”The judge stopped him.And then he stopped the entire courtroom.“Sit down for five minutes… starting now.”He made everyone sit in silence for the same amount of time the offender abused that child. That's not theatrics — that's moral clarity. That's a judge refusing to let evil be softened or sanitised. We need more of this.I'm J Fallon — and this is The Slippery Slope Podcast. This is just my opinionIntro song is ‘Bring Me Down'Buy Me a CoffeeThe Slippery Slope SpotifyJ Fallon SpotifyThe Slippery Slope Apple PodcastsThe Slippery Slope YouTube

The animals vigilantly monitored the food preparation to ensure they were fed ham and cheese. Both Dallas and the birds finished their meal within twenty seconds. (12)

In this week's episode, Amanda Tooke is making a very big claim, that just five minutes a day really can change your life. And she means it.Amanda talks about the way we constantly overestimate what we can do in a day and completely underestimate what we can do in a year. It is why we set the huge goals, buy the journal, download the meditations, and then a week later feel like we are failing. Five minutes, on the other hand, feels doable, and that is exactly the point. She shares why real transformation almost never happens in one dramatic breakthrough, why we so often give up on our practice just before things shift, and the one word she thinks people should stop chasing when it comes to showing up for themselves.Amanda finishes with a card pull for the week ahead, and as always, the messages line up beautifully with everything she shares.Host Bio:Amanda Tooke renowned Spiritual Teacher and NLP Manifestation Coach is the host of the Angel Mystic Podcast. It's Wednesday, July 8th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Rising anti-Christian incidents in Israel Anti-Christian incidents are surging in Israel this year. A report from the Religious Freedom Data Centre found there were 83 incidents of harassment during the second quarter of 2026. That's up from 44 incidents during the first quarter. These incidents include spitting, verbal assault, threatening behavior, and physical assault. The report noted, “In recent years, these acts have increasingly taken place openly, in broad daylight.” In John 15:18, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” Hamas dissolved Gaza government The Islamic Resistance Movement, known as Hamas, announced the dissolution of its government in Gaza on Monday. The Islamic militant group took control of the Palestinian territory in 2007. In 2023, it led an attack on Israel. Since then, Israel and Hamas have been at war. The Trump administration has been working on a peace plan to end the conflict over the past year. Hamas is now preparing to transfer power to a committee backed by the United States. Fewer Americans support Israel Support for Israel is declining in America. The data comes from a new Associated Press-National Opinion Research Center poll. Forty-percent of U.S. adults say America is too supportive of Israel's conflict with the Palestinians. That's up from 37% in 2024. Along party lines, 60 percent of Republicans say the U.S. shows the right amount of support for Israel. That's up from 33 percent in 2024. Meanwhile, 58 percent of Democrats say the U.S. supports Israel too much. That's up from 45 percent in 2024. Trump: “Our founders were great, our cause was just.” U.S. President Donald Trump gave his Independence Day speech at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. last week. President Trump celebrated America's unique freedoms on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. He said, “Unlike so many others in the world, in this country we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, equal justice under the law.” Listen to more of his comments. TRUMP: “We have thrived and flourished because our founders were great, our cause was just, our people are brave, our culture is exceptional, and our destiny is written by God. (applause) “And, as we can see here tonight, after 250 years, the spirit of 1776 still lives within us all. At 250 years old, we may be the oldest constitutional republic on Earth, but our country is just getting started, because the best is yet to come.” (applause) Psalm 67:3-4 says, “Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on Earth.” South Carolina prohibits bank discrimination against Christians The state of South Carolina will prevent banks from discriminating against people on the basis of their beliefs. Republican Governor Henry McMaster signed the Guarantee Banking Act last week. The measure prohibits large financial institutions in the state from denying financial services to people over their religious or political beliefs. Matt Sharp with Alliance Defending Freedom commented, “By enacting this bill, South Carolina joins Tennessee and Idaho in leading the charge to protect citizens, non-profits, religious organizations, and businesses from discriminatory debanking.” U.S. stock market surged The U.S. stock market surged during the first half of 2026. Markets grew despite war in the Middle East and oil shortages. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 8.9 percent this year. That's its best growth during the first half of a year since 2021. The S&P 500 climbed 9.4 percent this year, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq grew 12.5 percent. Britain discovered rare copy of Declaration of Independence PBS reports on a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence that was discovered in the United Kingdom this year. A volunteer at the country's National Archives was cataloguing the papers of Royal Navy captains from the American War for Independence. That's when volunteer Michael Scurr found the rare copy of the Declaration. It was one of 11 copies printed in Exeter, New Hampshire in July 1776. The copy was later seized by the British Royal Navy on Christmas Eve of the same year. It remained buried in archives until this February. Dr. Graham Moore from The National Archives said the discovery is “one of the rarest forms of the Declaration we know about.” Worldview listeners weigh in from Alaska and Kentucky Trevor Williams, age 10, in Wasilla, Alaska, wrote, “You are doing good with The Worldview in 5 Minutes. Please keep it going! Me and my family listen to it every morning at Bible time. I love to hear it. It is good to know about these things. Keep on doing these podcasts.” Jason Oleson in Fairbanks, Alaska wrote, “I think The Worldview is very unique in that it focuses on lots of statistics and shows things that are very alarming, but also overlooked by many other outlets. The Worldview is also something I get news from because it focuses on events that are relevant to us as Christians. I learn a lot about current events through your newscast and would love to see it keep going!” And Leah Smith in Franklin, Kentucky wrote, “I really appreciate The Worldview in Five Minutes for its weekday overview of what's going on in America and overseas in terms of society, ministry, culture, and politics. “The short length is just perfect for me to get caught up on news without wasting my time scrolling news websites! Most of all, I trust The Worldview for your Christian perspective. I'm actually able to hear about my imprisoned and suffering brothers and sisters, enabling me to pray for them.
