This week, with the help of LA tech guru Espree Devora, Remi starts to wonder if Freck is actually a tech company. Espree somehow has more time in the day than everyone in Los Angeles combined. She hosts two podcasts, consults, is a voracious networker, plans and runs hundreds of events for WeAreLaTech, and still has time to come on our show. Her aim is to change the conversation from, “look how hard it is to be a woman in tech” to “look at all we can accomplish”. Since Espree is a seasoned podcaster she starts interviewing Remi and the results are a lot of fun. Tune in if you love tech, badass women, and want to hear a great story.
Remi dives into the female psyche with feminist confidence coach, Kara Loewentheil. Kara is a Yale /Harvard educated Lawyer (nbd) and host of the podcast, “Unf#ck Your Brain”. Remi and Kara unpack cognitive bias and how it affects nearly every aspect of our lives. This episode is for anyone that wants a practical approach to reframing their outlook on life.
Today Remi gets down to brass tacks and talks about how she found the money to start Freck. Spoiler alert, it wasn't easy. Remi learned about funding the hard way and has a lot to say. This episode is perfect for anyone that wants to start a company or needs to be reminded of their worth. Get at us Freck fam. Send questions to Remi on IG @freck
Reina Pomeroy helps passionate entrepreneurs make more money so they can enjoy the freedom and flexibility we all crave. This is one of my favorite episodes because today we’re talking about CASH and why it feels like a taboo subject.
Today Remi sits down with Nasera Alayon, the founder of Softcore Studio. Softcore is a Los Angeles based graphics & branding studio responsible for Freck's visual aesthetic. Remi and Nasera talk about friendship, design, and what it takes to pursue your side hustle full time.
Amanda Robinson is the founder, CEO, and HBIC of the best damn eyelash extension studio in America, Iris and West. In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Amanda is one of Remi’s best friends and a frequent guest @ Freck HQ. In today’s episode Remi talks to Amanda about starting her business, superficiality in the beauty industry, and reducing your companies waste. You can learn more about Amanda’s amazing company @irisandwest. Message us on Instagram @Freck for questions about your business, comments, ideas, and guests you want to hear on the show. Remi is on IG @Hi.Remi
Today, Remi talks about labs, law, and everything in between. If you want to start a cosmetics company or are just generally interested in entrepreneurship, this one's for you!
This week we’re joined by Kyle Hjelmeseth, the creator of God & Beauty. God & Beauty is an agency that manages some of your favorite bloggers such as Pretty Little Fawn, Honey n Silk, Stella Simona, and many more. This week we’re joined by the co-founders of Studio Sashiko, Shaughnessy & Kyle. These beautiful people are the best in the biz when it comes to microblading and cosmetic tattooing. Microblading is the process of tattooing uber fine hair strokes into your eyebrows. Shaughnessy also specializes in tattooing nipples onto breast cancer survivors and genderqueer clients who have undergone surgery. We take a deep dive into marketing and growing a service based business, something very different to a product based company like Freck. This episode is dedicated to all our incredible customers who run or work at salons. You can see everything Shaughnessy & Kyle are up to on IG at @StudioSashiko, and please reach out to us with any comments or suggestions via IGDM @Freck.
This week we’re joined by Michelle Kirchner AKA @Girrlscout. She’s a blogger, photographer, and has a rad clothing & accessory line with her boo, Spencer. In this episode, we get into how she wants to grow her shop and what it's like to work with your partner. True story, Girrlscout was Freck’s VERY first customer. If anyone listening was around on our launch day you know we had a HUGE server crash and it was pretty dramatic. I reached out to say hey, and we’ve become close friends and frequently bounce ideas off each other ever since. Coincidence? Fate? Who knows…
Today we’re joined by Emo Nite Co-Founder, Babs Szabo. Emo Nite is an incredible party that started in Echo Park and has since become an international sensation. She also founded a creative agency based in LA called Ride Or Cry. It's been such a joy watching Babs' companies grow over the last 4 years, I can't wait for her to tell you all about it.. Visit @emonitela & @babsszabo to see all the fun stuff she's working on.
This week we’re joined by Sarah Lou Who, your favorite beauty blogging pixie. If you aren’t familiar with her instagram, you should be. She’s grown her IG to over 350k followers by creating awe-inspiring looks, she’s on live almost every morning getting ready, she posts IGTVs regularly, has a podcast, does her own intricate nail art, bakes gorgeous cakes that are literal works art, and on top of ALL that, she has a telecommunications company. I honestly think Sarah has figured out a way to have more hours in a day than Beyoncé and I need to know how she makes it happen. Additionally, she’s working on a new career direction that is just as surprising as it is exciting. Check out @sarah_louwho on IG to follow along with her journey.
