Dick by looking at his break-out, dystopian, future-prophesying 1977 classic “A Scanner Darkly,” alongside its faithful 2006 film adaptation. If you're not familiar, the movie is free on Youtube. In the free section of the show we explore the Biblical quote the title of the work is referring to and why this film and numerous other works by Philip K. Dick  could be considered gnostic in character. We dig into and find a number of gems by looking at the name etymology of a Scanner Darkly's characters, starting of course with Bob which reveals numerous connections to gnostic and ancient Egyptian wisdom. In the extended edition of the show we go even deeper into what is really going on in the iconic medical examination scene. By looking at Egyptian hieroglyphs we get some heavy insight into the meaning behind the symbols used in the scene and triangulate an ancient myth which reflects ALL the major themes in A Scanner Darkly. If that were not enough we even find how the gematria value of the examination room reflects these ideas in a coherent way that further clarifies the deeper narrative behind Philip K. Opening Banter: Brad is back!   In The Spoiler Room: Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 4 FeedbackPat R writes in that “On the speculation that Reva was a padawan before her time with the  Empire, I believe I have more backup. It looks like Reva is the ONLY inquisitor that holsters her lightsaber on her waste while the others do on their back. Her saber is collapsed so the spinning function that the Grand Inquisitor uses to take out Flea, is not functional as well. I believe this is another sign that Reva was trained by the Jedi, she stuck out her fighting style with what she was taught before the Inquisitorius Program.” A lot of discussion online has been about the moment when the mole looking alien named Freck (voiced by Zach Braff) offered Ben and Leia a ride and they see the imperial symbol on the back of his truck. Darth Vader's voice? In an interview with Vanity Fair, Joby Harold was directly asked if the events in episode 2 had broken canon, including the fact that Grand Inquisitor does die in Rebels –but in a completely different way. "As you know, we would never break canon," the screenwriter responded. So that's all I'll say. Canon is everything." When Freck Beauty's founder, who goes by Remi, first launched her brand on Kickstarter, her idea was a novel one: a makeup product that could recreate the look of freckles. Annalise and I discuss the importance of making an impact on the world, how 12.7 million people are getting access to clean water, at the time of recording, and Charity Water's focus on helping the world's people get clean water and all of the impacts along with it.    How did you come to Charity Water, and when did you first learn about it? Did you know from the time you were in high school what you wanted to do with your life, or dedicate it towards an impact of service? Charity Water works in 29 countries, and has scaled significantly since inception in 2006. Your website says that while the water crisis is huge, we're optimistic. Can you tell me more about the vision and philosophy of the company? How does the lack of access to clean water affect people 785M people who still don't have access to clean water every day? In the context of my sophomore and Senior High School students, how might their lives be affected? Annalise talks more about how water access can fight poverty? For example from your website charitywater.org In Africa alone, women spend 40 billion hours a year walking for water. Access to clean water gives communities more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school -- all of which fight poverty.
