For my money, this is when they formally become the original Scooby gang an I am here for it.
Somewhere in this scene there's a knock-knock joke in very poor taste.
Oh, wow. Poor Renfield! Poor, poor Renfield!
Episode 100! In which someone finally remembers the being they're chasing is, you know, a vampire.
In which Jonathan Harker does his Rockford Files routine and absolutely no one has learned their lesson.
Wow, these people have seriously never read a book or seen a movie. They haven't even read their own diaries!
Award-winning author and screenwriter L. Marie Wood joins me to talk about her new psychological horror book TELECOMMUTING, available on May 5th, 2021! Pre-order it now!
Fun fact: Dracula now accounts for half of all episodes of SDR!
Is there any psychiatrist worse than Dr. Seward?
In which we really do feel sorry for Renfield.
In which the Scooby gang finally forms.

In which I ramble incoherently about pointlessly restrictive gender roles and the ways shifts in technology enable innovative storytelling.
Mina Harker could save the world singlehandedly and I bet she wouldn't even make a typo while she did it.
Alas, poor Lucy, we hardly knew ye. But at least now we're starting to see the Scooby Gang assemble for real!
I'd say shit has now gotten extraordinarily real for them Duke boys.
Time to wrap up Chapter 15 and move on to the meat of the matter.

Welcome to 2021! Let's get back into the swing of things by rewinding just a teensy bit and starting fresh.
Arthur faces the terrible burden of practical plans in the face of terrible tragedy. Honestly, this stuff is some of the hardest part of dealing with death and grief, and Stoker does a good job of capturing it.
What an amazing scene for this episode! For me, this bit is the core of the Dracula experience. It's compassionate and sincere and every other take on this story has been defined by their approach to or take on this very scene.
The hits keep on comin'! Let's catch up on Mina trying to catch up on her inbox - er, I mean, correspondence.
Heartbreak upon heartbreak! This, to me, is by far the most tragic part of the novel.
Doom stalks Lucy... again! Honestly, at this point, I think I'd probably just move.
Let's get back into this wacky tale of Bersicker the wolf!
Misty Massey joins us to read from Poe's "The Cask of Amantillado" and her own short story "The Cask of Amarillo!" Misty's website: www.mistymassey.com
Things take a (temporary) turn for the better.
I'm sure everything will work out just fine now!
A happy reunion, though not without some caveats.

And now we know Mr. Renfield's insidious designs...
In which we first hear of the infamous Mr. Renfield!
Wherein we meet Mina and Lucy (via their letters) and thus encounter one of my favorite characters of all time.
No reason, just felt like maybe a story about an arrogant and indulgent prince falling victim to the plague he tried to ignore might be interesting.
