The Biggest Job Interview Mistakes Senior Professionals Make

You're more experienced. Yay.  But here's a funny.  Just because you're great at your job doesn't mean you're great at interviewing for your job!  I see senior professionals make mistakes in interviews that actually make them sound less senior.  They dive too quickly into the activity. They explain too much. They answer about how they execute instead of elevating the conversation to show how they think. Then, when it's their turn to ask questions, they miss another ginormous opportunity. Your questions aren't just there to help you gather information. They tell the employer what you care about and how you think. You need to be able to communicate the information without polluting your answer with everything else you know. You need to start your stories at the right altitude. (This line took me a long time to come up with.

Could it force either side to clarify their claims and evidence? You've built the life you said you wanted. The business. The house. Maybe both, from the ground up. And somewhere in the middle of a completely ordinary day, it hits you: everything is technically right, and nothing feels like it.This week I'm talking with Kendra Jarrell, author of Becoming Home: Self-Discovery Through the Power of Space, about the moment she pulled into her driveway of a brand-new custom home and felt the exact same frustration she'd been feeling in her business. Same tension. Different room.We talk about what that discomfort is actually telling you, why your home has been quietly mirroring every version of you you've ever been, and how the space you live in can become the fastest way back to yourself when your business, your identity, or your life stops fitting the way it used to.This isn't a home organization conversation. It's about what happens when you finally stop pushing the feeling down long enough to hear what it's been trying to say.CONNECT WITH KENDRAWebsite: https://www.consultwithkendra.com/ Clarity Quiz: https://www.consultwithkendra.com/quiz Amazon Author Page: amazon.com/author/kendrajarrell Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ownbecominghome/CONNECT WITH BRITTANYWebsite: https://catescreativestudio.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/catescreative.studio/

How India Is Ending Naxal Terror | The Untold Strategy Behind the Final Crackdown FT. Tuhin Sinha

Every nation has a story, but some chapters are written in blood. For decades, India fought an enemy that didn't wear a uniform - an ideology that spread through forests, cities and silence, in one of the longest internal-security battles in the country's history. Roshan Cariappa sits down with Tuhin A. Sinha - BJP National Spokesperson, author of 14 books, and now the writer of a comprehensive new book "Naxal Terror Vanquished: The Long War against Maoism, and the Doctrine That Ended It." This book discusses how India confronted and pushed back Naxal terror. We've had Tuhin on the show before - last time, to talk delimitation, the women's reservation bill and the coalition arithmetic of the Monsoon Session. This time the conversation turns to something bigger and bloodier. His starting point is a memory gap: Gen Z and Gen Alpha never saw this threat at its peak, and the country readjusted so fast that few remember how bad it got. In 2010 alone, over a thousand people were killed in Naxal violence - 74 CRPF jawans ambushed at Dantewada, and the Gyaneshwari Express sabotaged in West Bengal, killing 150. This, he argues, was never a "socio-economic problem" - it was an out-and-out terror movement. From there the conversation traces the full arc: the origins in Naxalbari in 1967, the role of "urban Naxals" in supplying funds and arms, the Salwa Judum movement and the price its leaders paid, and the turnaround that followed - the convergence of security agencies across a seven-state Red Corridor, the surrender-and-rehabilitation policy, Operation Kagar's final push, and the development story behind it. Tuhin's central claim is a bold one: that Naxalism has been pushed to the brink of extinction. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - The enemy that didn't wear a uniform 01:20 - Welcome back to Bharatvaarta 02:08 - How serious a threat was Naxalism, really? 03:06 - Dantewada & the Gyaneshwari Express: how deadly it got 04:36 - When a leader calls a Naxal his role model 05:10 - Where it began: Naxalbari, 1967 06:30 - How it evolved - students, Bihar & caste 08:05 - The UPA years: scrapping POTA & the NAC 08:36 - Salwa Judum, and the myth about tribal support 11:37 - Struck down: the fresh wave of violence & the leaders killed 12:54 - Why "socio-economic problem" was a fatal misreading 13:47 - Urban Naxals: the supply of funds and arms 17:52 - What this government did differently 20:26 - The surrender & rehabilitation policy 21:16 - Operation Kagar: the final phase 22:45 - Bastar Olympics & bringing fighters into the mainstream 24:46 - Development as the closing chapter: Modi for tribals 26:02 - Will Naxalism ever return?

Dr. Anthony Fauci walked back into Congress—and immediately found himself in the political inferno. On this edition of TWR Wednesday, Sam breaks down Fauci's explosive return to Capitol Hill, where Senator Rand Paul and other lawmakers pressed the former NIAID director over COVID-19's origins, gain-of-function research, pandemic restrictions, and his previous testimony before Congress. With Fauci invoking the Fifth Amendment and refusing to answer more than 100 questions, the hearing quickly transformed from a routine congressional appearance into a full-blown showdown over accountability, government power, and the decisions that changed American life during the pandemic. Was Fauci simply exercising his constitutional rights, or does his silence suggest there is far more to the COVID story than the public has been told? Did government officials mislead Americans about the lab-leak theory, lockdowns, mandates, and school closures? And will anyone in Washington ever face consequences for the failures of the pandemic era?Sam examines the hearing's biggest moments, Rand Paul's continuing battle with Fauci, the media's role in protecting the public-health establishment, and why the political firestorm surrounding COVID is nowhere close to burning out. It's politics, controversy, and unapologetic commentary on another fiery edition of The Whitfield Report.Sam's Substack:https://samwhitfield.substack.com/Rumble:https://rumble.com/user/TheWhitfieldReport2nd YouTube Channel:https://www.youtube.com/@WhitfieldReportReloadedKick Channel:https://kick.com/whitfieldreportSam's Amazon Author Page:https://www.amazon.com/stores/Sam-Whitfield/author/B00M1DNU88?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=trueSpotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/4DIcoDO0BIDyuH7SWIsAB8?si=8c06106f817d4eebAmerican Instinct Pulp Adventures:https://americaninstinct.substack.comFollow Sam on X and Instagram:@SamW_NGCFollow Right To Offend Media on X:@RTOMediaBuy Me A Coffee:https://buymeacoffee.com/whitfieldreport

There's a part of the interview process almost nobody thinks about.  The emails you send after the interview. Or throughout the hiring process. Or when you get an offer. Most job candidates assume email is the safest way to communicate. Technically, it's the riskiest. I've seen candidates try to rewrite an interview in a thank you note, send multiple follow-up emails, ask important questions over email, and even negotiate compensation. Oy! Here's the problem.  Email strips away nearly everything that makes communication effective. Your tone. Not to mention your charming personality. You can't explain what you mean. Or why you're asking what you're asking.  When you need to communicate something important, email is the worst tool. Today, let's identify the traps, avoid the mistakes, and make sure your emails help your candidacy instead of hurting it.  If you'd like to build a great career and lead a rewarding life, check out some of these other places where I share my teachings: 1. One of the biggest mistakes job candidates make is preparing for the wrong thing. They spend hours trying to predict which interview questions they'll be asked. They search for lists of the most common questions. They memorize answers. They rehearse responses. And then they walk into the interview hoping they guessed correctly. There's just one problem, I mean, other than this giving me heartburn. That's not how you score the best in interviews. The strongest candidates aren't focused on the questions. In fact, they don't give one hill of beans about them. They're focused on something else entirely. This something makes interviews less stressful. Not to mention, but I will, your answers more compelling. And let's not forget the ginormous point about how your value teleports itself from you to them at hyper-speed. In today's lesson, I'm covering why most candidates approach interviews backward and what to focus on instead if you want actually get the job. Can controversy make a movie impossible to ignore? This week, Sam Whitfield takes a closer look at the internet's latest lightning rod: Citizen Vigilante. Directed by Uwe Boll and starring Armie Hammer, the film has become one of the year's most talked-about independent releases after generating fierce debate over its political themes, graphic violence, and unconventional distribution. Following heavy criticism, questions over censorship, and a viral boost on social media, Citizen Vigilante has become a case study in how outrage can fuel attention in the digital age.In this episode, you'll discover:Why Citizen Vigilante has become one of the most controversial films of the year.Whether the backlash has helped the movie reach a far larger audience than it otherwise would have. How outrage, censorship debates, and social media algorithms can transform a niche indie project into a viral cultural flashpoint. What the film reveals about the current state of free speech, online discourse, and the growing divide between mainstream critics and audiences. Why creators should understand the mechanics of controversy—even if they don't agree with the message behind it.This isn't a review celebrating or condemning the film. It's a conversation about the modern media landscape, where controversy often becomes the most effective marketing campaign money can't buy. Whether you think Citizen Vigilante is provocative, misguided, entertaining, or simply bizarre, its rapid rise offers valuable lessons about culture, censorship, and the internet's attention economy. And if you're looking for a thriller built on grounded espionage, compelling characters, and geopolitical intrigue rather than manufactured outrage, be sure to check out my latest novel, Vengeance in Venezuela, available now in paperback and ebook.Sam's Substack: https://samwhitfield.substack.com/Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/TheWhitfieldReport2nd YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@WhitfieldReportReloadedKick Channel: https://kick.com/whitfieldreportSam's Amazon Author Page: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Sam-Whitfield/author/B00M1DNU88?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=trueSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4DIcoDO0BIDyuH7SWIsAB8?si=8c06106f817d4eebAmerican Instinct Pulp Adventures: https://americaninstinct.substack.comFollow Sam on X and Instagram @SamW_NGCFollow Right To Offend Media on X @RTOMediaBuy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/whitfieldreportThanks for listening to The Whitfield Report. Sometimes an interview is an hour. Sometimes it's several rounds stretched across multiple days. And sometimes you finally get time with the hiring manager… and the calendar invite says 30 minutes. That's when many job seekers make the same mistake. They think I need to cram everything in. So they start walking through their résumé, overexplaining their background, stacking story after story, and trying to prove every qualification they've ever had. But that's not what a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager is about. The hiring manager is not trying to memorize your entire career history. They're trying to make a few key decisions quickly: Do I like this person? Do they fit our team and environment? Can they help us achieve our goals? What will they actually be like to work with? Today's lesson covers THE 4 areas you absolutely must win when you only have 30 minutes with the hiring manager. Because when the interview window is short, quality beats volume every time. In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision. During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks. Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. Most job candidates never notice any of it. They walk out thinking, That went pretty well. Then they never hear back. Ouch. Strong candidates don't just answer questions.

It reveals the continuing witness to how a story can affect us when we hear something that seems to “break through the reality of tragedy” and we find that “hope” is what we cannot escape.   We hope for something that pierces darkness, destruction, despair and death.   God's Greatness God has conquered and continues to conquer all four forces that have come against His light, creative nature, hope, and life itself.  His light pierces darkness. His creative nature steps into destruction. His unyielding presence defeats despair. His resurrection power conquers death.   The Deceiver cannot conquer God's goodness, love, power and presence in our lives.    Jesus calls us to him as the Shepherd and we the sheep who cannot live without the Good Shepherd: I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy' I hve come that they may have life, and it to the full. I am the good shepherd.” John 10:9-11   Dr. Chip Dodd  Website  Chip's Free Resources link  Subscribe to Chip's website Follow Chip on Instagram  Substack Facebook Link  Linked In  Find Chip on YouTube Chip's Amazon Author Page     Click here to continue reading the episode highlights.

I want to discuss one of the most important decisions you make in a job interview. It happens before you ever start speaking. It's not how you tell your story. It's which story you choose. Most candidates default to the example they like the most. The one they're most proud of. The one that feels the most impressive. But that's not what determines whether it lands. The story that sells you best is the one that fixes what's hurting them right now. When you choose the right story, your value becomes immediate and obvious. You don't have to work as hard to explain it. You don't have to hope they connect the dots. They see it. In this week's lesson, I share a powerful analogy that'll help you identify which story will score highest in an interview so you can make your impact clear from the start. Let's talk about something that sets people back. Career mistakes. Not obvious ones. Ones that look like progress. Work hard. Stay loyal. Do a good job. The kind of unnoticeable acts that don't cost you a bad day. They cost you years. Years of time. Income. Momentum you never get back. And it happens because people are pointed in the wrong direction. Not because they aren't capable. That's what we're fixing today. This week's Tuesday Tips is not just a list. It's a full-on hour of how careers actually work. I walk you through 26 of the costliest mistakes across five critical areas: ·       Career Design, where most people drift instead of choosing a lane. ·       Career Growth, why people build the wrong skills or don't build them at all. ·       On-the-Job, how doing "enough" keeps you stuck. ·       Job Search, where most people completely misplay the game. ·       Networking, the mistakes that keep opportunities out of reach. And more importantly that pointing out these mistakes, I'll teach you how to fix them so you can stop losing time and start making big-time progress. Let's talk about the thing that's sitting in the back of a lot of people's minds right now… "Is AI going to take my job?" I get it. You're seeing layoffs. You're hearing nonstop noise about automation. But here's the problem… Most people are asking the wrong question. They're thinking about AI like it's coming to take a fixed number of jobs. That's not how this works. Every major wave of technology does two things at the same time: It eliminates certain roles in the short term. And it expands the total number of opportunities over time. The real issue isn't "Will AI take my job?" It's…
