Tragedy has struck Minneapolis in a major way over the past couple of days. George Floyd was killed by a police officer on Tuesday, May 26th, and peaceful protests have turned into looting, fires, and chaos. Suntina Spehar joins Jaelen and Johnny as they go in detail about what exactly happened over the past couple of days as well as their experiences at the scene of the destruction.

This episode is a teaser to The Talking Company's new podcast, Through Our Lens. In this podcast, Johnny Wedl and Seth Morem will discuss current worldly events, specifically in the United States and the United Kingdom. Our goal is to create a podcast discussing headline news in the eyes of a college student as well as build a greater worldly perspective for all of our listeners. Stay tuned for weekly episodes on Wednesday mornings!

On this episode, Jaelen and I had the pleasure of interviewing a 1994 Johnnie graduate who found his way back to Saint Johns and has been teaching finance over the past 10 years. This individual has been around the world and back, he has worked in Washington with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and he even worked on Wall Street for a number of years. In this podcast, Jaelen and I uncover our guest’s experiences in traveling the world, the books he has already written and the ones he plans to write, and we were even lucky enough to receive some valuable advice that everybody can benefit from. It is a great honor to introduce this very special guest, Mr. Bob Bell - enjoy the episode everybody. Top of the morning/afternoon/evening ya crazies, This lovely episode contains stories told by Meg and her experiences as a writer and (potentially) future author. Meg talks about how meditating and dreaming can tell a lot about a person's mental state while Jaelen and Johnny ramble on about lucid dreams. In Meg's time abroad, she spent a lot of time on her own and she tells us about her experiences with that and how a lot of value can come from time alone. To end the show, Meg asked us about the origins of The Talking Company in addition to our last Christmas question before the big day! (Dec. 25th ... ANOTHER CHRISTMAS EDITION EPISODE!!!!! The boys had a heart to heart talk with our dear friend Haylee. From our own perspectives we all talked about mental health and the effects it has on our lives, Haylee shares her own ways how she deals with anxiety and how people can use these tactics in their own lives, the importance of animals (love ya Jit), plus much much more! In this episode, we got the opportunity to speak with an up and coming musician from Florida. We went deep into his come up and how he is able to balance his everyday life with making music. Due to the fact that we weren't able to finalize an interview for today's show, we decided to display the segments that we'll be including in our episodes. Seth, Johnny, and Jack go over the top Songs you needed to listen to yesterday , a segment where we each share our songs of the week. After that, we introduced our Dusters and Beauties of the week, following a segment we like to call Dumbing it down. We loved recording this for you guys and we hope to put some of them together with interviews to come. Talk soon.

The other day, we had a very fun time interviewing a good friend of ours, Bethey. We went into Bethey's transition from Ethiopia to the United States and how that effected her education. There was some @Garyvee talk, an entrepreneurial inspiration. And lastly, towards the end of the interview, we dive into whether or not the talk of CBD in the business world would affect numbers.

This is a shorter episode that includes a well thought out conversation with Seth Morem and Jack Fogelberg. The two go into the complications of a two party system and dive deeper into Trump's presidency to provide a more simplistic detailing of what's is happening in the political sector. Once Johnny Wedl joined the conversation, the group veered more toward Bradley Cooper and his endeavors to express his undying love for Lady Gaga (reference A Star is Born if you're doubting me. In this episode, we got the opportunity to speak with the CEO of The Cause International, a company that gives back while cooking up some sweet clothing pieces. We got an incredible look into his story and how his company came to be. After the interview, Seth, Jae, and Johnny went at it while discussing the upcoming NBA finals game 4 this evening. We also touched on the US Women's National team as they prepare to take on Thailand on June 11th. Lastly, we gave our takes on a handful of albums that have recently been released.
