Unstuck...the podcast where we have conversations about areas in our lives where we may have been or are stuck whether that is relationally, mentally, emotionally and/or spiritually. Hosted by Dr. Emily Stone, licensed marriage and family therapist.
In this episode I get to share with you a conversation I had with Helms and Greg Jarrell from QC Family Tree in Charlotte, North Carolina. It would be impossible to describe in detail in this short introduction all of the ways they contribute to their community. They are each in their own unique ways community builders, parents, activists, artists, pastors, and good friends. We get a good amount of laughter in around some pretty tough topics related to power and privilege, but the heart of our conversation is the same as topic of Greg's book that was just released: community and belonging. Greg's book, A Riff of Love, can be found on Amazon and I hope you will check it out. I also hope you will enjoy our conversation. I know I did.
Hey guys! Welcome to season 2 of Unstuck! I can’t believe I have been doing this for a little over a year and I am absolutely thrilled at what I get to share right out of the gate in season two. This first episode was recorded live at the Wild Goose Festival in Hot Springs, North Carolina. If you are not familiar with the Wild Goose Festival I encourage you to look it up. Having this particular conversation with these particular people in this particular space was so incredibly meaningful to me and I am so honored to get to share it with you. Intimate Justice…what does that look like for women? What kinds of messages about sex have we “caught” and were “taught” in church for better or worse? That’s what’s on the agenda for this first episode. Come and see. With Dr. Susan Perkins, Missy Cava, Shacoya Graham, and Sarah Causey
This podcast episode's interview might be one of the most sacred I ever do. Amanda Kerr is a third year graduate student at Wake Forest Divinity School where she is preparing for ministry. I met Amanda about four years ago and have had the honor of witnessing an incredibly tender and significant part of her life. Amanda is so many things. She is warm, intelligent, wise, brave, and caring. She is also a gay Christian. Today I get to share with you her thoughts on how she has worked to remain faithful as a Christian while also being honest with others and authentic in her identity. Her thoughtful and intentional responses will challenge and encourage you. Come and see. Unstuck is a podcast facilitated by Dr. Emily Stone, licensed marriage and family therapist, supervisor, professor, and ordained minister, where Emily and her guests have heart to heart conversations about areas of our lives where we tend to get stuck. Oh, and laugh. Emily loves to laugh and learn about people through their stories...so there is plenty of that going on, too.
