Explore how early conditioning shapes your inner voice, and how to return to your wise, authentic self.Do you know whose voice is guiding your decisions? In this Life Lesson, we explore how the Inner Child absorbs the beliefs, expectations, and emotional rules of authority figures — and how those inherited voices can quietly shape our adult lives. Through Taoist wisdom, we learn how to distinguish conditioned thinking from our true inner knowing and wise inner guide, reconnect with our inherent worth, and gently return to authenticity, clarity, and alignment. In this deeply personal and hope-filled episode of the Choose to Think Inspirational Podcast, Victoria invites listeners into an honest conversation about self-control, grief, surrender, and the quiet exhaustion that comes from trying to do life in our own strength.Drawing from her own experiences—memories of her father, moments of self-pity, struggles with temptation, and the pressure of performance—Victoria explores what it truly means to be a vessel for God's love rather than the source of it. She unpacks how striving hardens the heart and exhausts the mind, while surrender opens the door to healing, restoration, and renewed joy.Blending Scripture, lived wisdom, and accessible brain science, this episode gently reframes failure—not as disqualification, but as a place where God's grace can flow most freely. Victoria reminds us that our worth is not earned through achievement, that brokenness does not cancel calling, and that humility and accountability are powerful pathways to emotional and spiritual healing. The episode closes with a heartfelt prayer and an invitation to step out of self-reliance and into the steady, sustaining presence of God.Self-control is a lifelong journey, not a finish lineGrief often surfaces through memories and emotional triggersSurrender interrupts self-pity and restores clarity and peaceAwareness of our thoughts is the first step toward renewalWe are vessels for God's love—not the source of itOur worth is rooted in who we are, not what we doFailure does not disqualify us; it can deepen our capacity to loveBrokenness can become part of our beauty and testimonyGod's grace is always available, even after serious mistakesHumility and accountability are essential for emotional healing00:00 – Introduction & Personal Reflections03:13 – Navigating Grief and Memories06:02 – Self-Pity and Spiritual Growth09:15 – The Struggle with Self-Control12:00 – Surrendering to God's Will14:38 – Being a Vessel for God's Love19:09 – Understanding Our Worth23:13 – Performance vs. Purpose26:00 – Embracing Failure and Grace28:55 – Closing Reflections and Prayer34:26 – Outro

On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared introduces a refined Emotional Vitality format and tackles one of the most common struggles in modern life: overwhelm. Rather than being a mindset failure or lack of willpower, overwhelm is explained as a nervous system state—specifically a freeze response driven by brain chemistry and stress signaling. Jared breaks down what's happening neurologically, why procrastination is often protection, and how clarity and motivation shut down under chronic stress. You'll learn practical, science-grounded tools to regulate your nervous system through simple physical actions, breathing, language shifts, and small, specific steps that restore agency. Supplement support like magnesium, ashwagandha, L-theanine, and B vitamins is discussed as supportive—not corrective—tools. If you're curious as to whether you have any stored emotions or trauma that might be causing your illness, preventing you from achieving your goals, or even just showing up as the best, authentic version of yourself, I invite you to take my free Stored Emotions and Trauma Quiz“Don't make this political” has become one of the most damaging phrases in society. This episode confronts a difficult question: are politics and religion eroding society's ability to protect and care for its children? When dismissive language and rigid beliefs are normalized, religious and political bullying becomes acceptable, and it doesn't stop with adults. It bleeds into schools, families, and developing nervous systems. This is a mental health crisis, not a debate. The conversation explores how healing begins with responsibility. Practicing emotional regulation, living the Golden Rule, and modeling respect create the foundation for collective healing. Real change requires moving from reactive outrage to proactive care and taking mental and emotional health seriously at every level. You'll Learn:[00:00] Introduction[01:02] Why school shutdowns expose how unsafe “normal” has become[02:08] How violence reflects a mental and emotional health crisis, not a single issue[03:12] What global events reveal about religion and ideology driving division[04:25] The danger of becoming numb to shootings and public grief[06:01] Why children's fear signals a societal breaking point[08:14] How lockdown drills shape a child's nervous system and sense of safety[10:47] Why moral certainty and righteousness are eroding empathy and respect[15:22] How personal responsibility becomes the only real starting point for change[19:08] Why hiding behind religion or politics blocks compassion instead of creating safety[23:41] How the Golden Rule offers a simple but demanding standard for behavior[27:56] Why teaching children respect and grace matters more than winning arguments[31:12] How being proactive about mental and emotional health changes the future[34:08] Why lasting change depends on choosing to model what society needs nextFind More From Dr. Stephanie Davis:Dr. Stephanie Davis | WebsiteQuantum Rx | InstagramQuantum Rx | Skool

Learn why you believe something is wrong with you or that success feels unsafe — this is the Inner Child vow you never questioned. In this episode of Tao Dialogues, we explore The Inner Child's vow — an unconscious belief formed in childhood that can create self-doubt, anxiety, and self-sabotage, even when life is going well. Through Taoist wisdom, wu wei (effortless effort), and Shen spirituality, we gently uncover how this survival vow shaped our behaviour, and how it can be dissolved without force, self-criticism, or confrontation. This dialogue is for anyone ready to release old conditioning, trust life again, and return to alignment, flow, and authenticity. Nothing within you is broken. This is a return — not a repair.Read the blog post that inspired this episode:https://davidjameslees.substack.com/p/the-inner-childs-vowOur Tao Dialogues are powerful yet gentle teachings about authenticity, spirituality and finding emotional balance and flow in everyday life. Welcome to the first Raising Serotonin episode of 2026!!! I wanted to kick this year off by talking about something that's been sitting heavy with me, the idea that glow ups are still being framed as mostly physical. Hair, nails, Botox, weight… and almost no conversation around mental health. And personally, I believe every single one of us can always be working on our mental health. In this episode of Raising Serotonin, I talk about why physical changes alone don't create lasting happiness, and why mindset, emotional health, gut health, and daily habits matter just as much, if not more. I share what my own 2026 glow up looks like, including starting my counseling practicum and stepping fully into the work I feel called to do: listening, supporting, and helping others heal. This year isn't about changing how I look, it's about growing mentally, emotionally, and professionally.I also break down what a mental health glow up can actually look like, because it's different for everyone. There's no timeline, no pressure to change everything at once, and no “right” way to do this. Whether you're focusing on therapy, movement, boundaries, nutrition, or simply being more mindful, you have the next 11 months to grow and growth can start anytime you choose.I talk about two specific things I'm intentionally working on this year: letting go of chasing a number on the scale and being more mindful of my screen time. The scale can quietly mess with our heads, and social media, while useful, can be incredibly draining if we're not careful. Protecting our peace matters. This episode is a reminder that the work is daily, not seasonal. There is no finish line. The goal is to get 1% better, show up with intention, and choose growth even when it's uncomfortable. You deserve to feel good. You don't have to sit in pain this year. And I'm so glad you're here growing with me.Get your Raising Serotonin Merch here! FOLLOW RAISING SEROTONIN ON INSTAGRAM HERE Support the show
If it feels like you and your partner are stuck in the same argument on repeat… you're not failing at communication. You're touching something deeper. In this episode of Reignite: Love, Sex & Truth for Conscious Couples, we unpack why certain fights keep resurfacing in long-term relationships even when the topic changes and what's actually required to interrupt the cycle. They explore how nervous system activation, unmet needs, and missed repair keep couples looping… and how grounding, curiosity, and conscious repair can finally create safety, understanding, and real intimacy. This episode is for couples who are tired of circling the same conflict and ready for a different way forward. What You'll Hear in This EpisodeWhy repeating the same fight isn't about the issue at hand… but about an unmet emotional need underneath itWhat happens in your nervous system when you're triggered, and why logic disappears the moment conflict escalatesHow avoidance, shutdown, and makeup sex delay repair instead of resolving what's actually happeningWhat is the emotional and relational cost of unresolved conflict, and why does resentment build when repair is skippedWhy grounding must come before communication, and what helps you return to your adult self during conflictHow curiosity dissolves blame and opens the door to understanding, safety, and reconnectionWhy repair may be the most important love language couples were never taught You don't keep having the same fight because you're broken. You keep having it because something inside you is asking to be seen, met, and healed, and when that happens, intimacy can finally deepen. ✨ Save your spot for our upcoming February Couples Retreat: A sacred, guided experience for five couples ready to reconnect, heal, and reignite. If you're curious as to whether you have any stored emotions or trauma that might be causing your illness, preventing you from achieving your goals, or even just showing up as the best, authentic version of yourself, I invite you to take my free Stored Emotions and Trauma QuizPushing through stress works… until it doesn't.Chronic stress doesn't always show up as burnout right away. More often, it surfaces quietly through things like physical symptoms, emotional exhaustion, and a slow erosion of joy. This episode centers on how living out of alignment impacts the nervous system, the body, and long-term wellbeing, especially for high-functioning, purpose-driven people.A real world story illustrates how mental and emotional strain can accumulate beneath the surface, eventually manifesting as physical consequences that can no longer be ignored. The pattern is familiar: years of “shoulds,” pushing, and over-leveraging… followed by a moment when the body draws a hard line. This conversation is especially relevant for anyone interested in nervous system regulation, mind-body medicine, integrative health, or understanding how unresolved stress and trauma affect the body over time. Alignment isn't about perfection. It's about honesty, awareness, and choosing a path that supports both health and life. You'll Learn:[00:00] Introduction[04:52] The hidden cost of living by “shoulds” instead of what actually feels aligned[09:14] What happens when stress and misalignment start showing up in the body[12:01] The moment making money quietly replaces fulfillment without you noticing[17:08] What changes when you stop outsourcing your intuition to experts and templates[21:36] The slow erosion of confidence that comes from not trusting yourself[27:45] The role identity confusion plays in burnout, anxiety, and feeling stuck[34:12] What real self-honesty looks like before alignment can return[39:58] Why surface-level mindset work can't resolve deeper misalignment[46:41] The warning signs of unhealthy power dynamics with coaches or gurus[52:14] The skill of taking advice without giving away your authorityFind More From Dr. Stephanie Davis:Dr. Stephanie Davis | WebsiteQuantum Rx | InstagramQuantum Rx | Skool

In this episode, we unpack people pleasing – and, at its extreme, fawning – an often misunderstood coping response rooted in survival. We’re joined by Lia Love Avellino, LCSW, director of head and heart at The Well, to explore how boundaries, emotional health, and lived experience intersect. Lia helps us recognize the physical cues that signal self-abandonment – like a tight chest, knotted stomach, or shaky voice – and offers tools to pause, check in with the body, and name what you truly need. Because boundaries aren’t barriers; they’re meeting places that make more honest, authentic connection possible.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

According to a recent episode of the True Life Podcast, these feelings may be influenced by infrasound, a frequency below human hearing that significantly impacts our bodies and emotions. In this blog post, we will explore the fascinating world of infrasound, its historical significance, and its modern implications.Understanding Infrasound: Infrasound refers to sound waves that are below the frequency of 20 Hertz, which are inaudible to the human ear but can still have profound effects on our bodies. The podcast host, George, invites listeners to pause and feel their heartbeats, revealing that what we perceive as our heartbeat is intertwined with infrasound vibrations echoing throughout our bodies. This frequency has been weaponized throughout history, from ancient civilizations to modern technology.Historical Context: George highlights the ancient Mayans, who ingeniously utilized infrasound in the design of their pyramids at Chichen Itza. The low claps created resonant echoes that could evoke feelings of trance or terror during sacred rituals. This historical context shows that the manipulation of sound has long been a tool for influencing human behavior and perception.Modern Manipulation: Fast forward to the present, and the implications of infrasound are pervasive. George discusses how theme parks like Disney incorporate low-frequency sounds into roller coasters to enhance the thrill experience. Similarly, military operations have used infrasound to disrupt morale among troops, demonstrating the power of sound as a psychological weapon. The Role of Technology: Today, technology continues to exploit infrasound. George mentions the deployment of 5G towers, which emit sub-audible frequencies that can lead to increased anxiety in populated areas. Furthermore, he reveals a leaked DARPA document suggesting that infrasound could be used to instill social harmony by dulling aggressive behavior during riots. This shows a disturbing trend of using sound as a means of control.Practical Implications: So, what can we do to reclaim our senses from these hidden frequencies? George suggests listeners take proactive steps to engage with their own vibrational energy. He encourages trying a free 10 Hertz tone app to experience the power of infrasound firsthand. By tuning into these frequencies, individuals can foster a sense of awakening and empowerment, pushing back against the unseen forces that seek to influence their emotions. Conclusion: The exploration of infrasound reveals a hidden layer of reality that many of us are oblivious to. From historical rituals to modern technology, the impact of these low-frequency waves is undeniable. As we become more aware of the forces shaping our emotions and behaviors, we can take control of our experiences and reclaim our vibrational sovereignty. Remember, true awakening doesn't whisper; it quakes.Key Takeaways: 1. Infrasound affects our emotions and physical sensations despite being inaudible. 2. Historical use of infrasound, as seen in ancient Mayan architecture, illustrates its long-standing influence on human behavior. 3. Modern technology, including 5G, utilizes infrasound for psychological effects, often without public knowledge. 4. Engaging with sound can empower individuals to reclaim their emotional state and resist external influences. In this episode, Bob 'n Joyce explore key findings from Gallup's 2025 World Happiness Report. The United States experienced a notable decline, ranking 24th — its lowest position ever. The report highlights how social connection, financial wellbeing, emotional health, and physical wellness all play a critical role in overall happiness. While these findings may not come as a surprise, they should serve as a wake-up call for business leaders and OD practitioners. Unhappy employees don't just affect morale — they impact business results and workplace culture in very real ways. In the spirit of the season, we focus on what we can do to address chronic unhappiness, drawing directly from insights in the Gallup poll. What emerges are solutions that don't require big budgets or more time. In fact, small, subtle shifts by leaders — being fully present, asking thoughtful questions, and helping people feel seen and validated — can make a meaningful difference. On a personal level, we invite you, our listeners, to use this holiday season as a moment to pause, look around, and make someone's day. Kindness is contagious — and when it spreads, it lifts all of us. No better time to begin than now. Come on in, grab a snack. Welcome!
Katja wrote this essay years and years ago, and it's still a favorite. Today she needed to hear it again – yeah, you can do that with your own writing, it's allowed, don't worry – and she decided to share it with you. It's about how so many of us think we're the only trainwreck in any given room, and how we all have That Person in our lives (or just in our minds) who seems to really Have It All Together. Why can't I just get it together like That Person?, you think, like everyone does. Like even That Person does, Themselves, sometimes. Like someone might very well be thinking about… you! We are all trainwrecks. Outward appearances aren't the whole story, and it's hard to get to know the people around us. So this experience is super common. But don't worry! There's a lot we can do about it, starting with acknowledging the reality, then asking for help, then getting outside… and also – never doubt it – with a drink of tea. Some of our favorite nervines for these feelings include tulsi, betony, and calamus – but finding your own favorite herbs for these moments is the best way to help yourself.Need to reign in your trainwreck?Check out our Neurological & Emotional Health course. This course is a user's guide to your nerves & your emotions – including the difficult and dark ones, the falling apart ones, the total disaster ones. We discuss holistic herbal strategies for addressing both neurological & psychological health issues. It includes a lengthy discussion of herbal pain management strategies, too!Like all our offerings, this is a self-paced online video course, which comes with free access to twice-weekly live Q&A sessions, lifetime access to current & future course material, twice-weekly live Q&A sessions with us, open discussion threads integrated in each lesson, an active student community, study guides, quizzes & capstone assignments, and more!If you have a moment, it would help us a lot if you could subscribe, rate, & review our podcast wherever you listen. Send us a textA cave near Bethlehem. Stone, straw, and a light that still reaches us. We follow Saint Nicholas's quiet pilgrimage and find our own footing in a season when headlines blur, and hearts grow tired. The story of Emmanuel, God with us, becomes more than a lyric—it turns into a lifeline you can hold, a place you can enter, a presence you can trust when love feels heavy and the calendar won't slow down.We open with Nicholas's years near Beit Jala, exploring how a humble cave shaped his generous life. From there, we turn to the liturgies of Doug McKelvey's Every Moment Holy, to name the ache of too much information and too little strength. What if the most faithful move is to honor creaturely limits? What if justice and mercy begin with yielding the unbearable to the One whose shoulders can carry it? That shift reframes compassion, helping us respond to real needs that intersect our actual lives—family tensions, impatient lines, neighbors on edge—without going numb.Along the way, we offer simple prompts to list your griefs, discern your small share in God's redemptive work, and carry a single phrase of Scripture through the week. The goal isn't to escape reality; it's to live it with Emmanuel—fully God, fully human—beside you.If this speaks to you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs rest, and leave a quick review to help others find this space. Send us a textYou know that reflex where someone starts telling you about their awful day, and before you even realize what's happening, you're already three steps ahead trying to solve it for them? Same. Which is why talking to therapist and Yale instructor Leah Marone felt like someone gently holding up a mirror and saying, Honey, look.Leah's book Serial Fixer unpacks exactly why so many of us leap into rescue mode even when nobody asked. And it's not because we're Mother Teresa. It's usually anxiety, overfunctioning, a desperate need for harmony, or an old story we picked up somewhere along the way that says if everyone else is okay, then I'm okay.We get into the three types of fixers and I swear I saw myself in every one. Leah explains why giving advice too quickly, anticipating needs, and being “the glue” in every system slowly erodes our sense of self and keeps us out of true connection. We also talk about resentment, internal critics, and those sneaky moments when we center ourselves in someone else's problem without meaning to.My favorite part is how simple the solution can be. Validating before solving. Pausing before taking the bait. Letting people feel the consequences of their choices. And actually checking in with yourself instead of running around on emotional autopilot.
