All the anime watched by Em and Jackson that isn't part of The Great Gundam Project, usually an entire season in an episode, with most episodes chosen by our listeners! Because sometimes you're so tired of mechs.

It's time for the final Beach House of 2023, and we read Delicious in Dungeon! The whole thing! It's a great manga and we had a good time discussing it even if our job is pretty difficult because the main thing is just: look at it. I mean look at it bro. We'll be back next year with a slightly reduced Beach House schedule but we'll update you ahead of time on what the next episode is going to be!

Also, as a thank you to everyone for supporting us, the newest voip recorded days before the strike began is now up free for everyone at patreon.com/abnormalmapping! We jump off from a show we didn't like much at all to talk about the limits of anime storytelling generally, the things we're looking for from these stories, and the way we approach stories in the problematised genre of shonen anime without just turning into joyless communists yelling at cartoons. I mean like more so. Okay don't be rude.

We're joined by Red today to watch the recent cult classic to a tragically small cult made up of about fifteen of people I am friends with on twitter. It's Granbelm, the Mecha/Magical Girl show from a couple years ago, which turns out to be a delightful surprise!
Blog SettingsAdd PostClearAllDraftsReviewScheduledAudioToday we're joined again by Rick for a slightly different kind of Beach House. This year we've been trying to transition away from splitting up our series so much, hoping to eventually be covering most anime in one episode. So of course we immediately have two experiments diverging from that simple goal. Last time was half a Toku show and I think it worked well. Today is Volume 1 of Akira! We'll be doing shorter Akira episodes every four to six weeks, nothing rigidly planned just when we can fit them in, but we'd like to be regular about them. We thought if anything deserved the more episodic approach it was Otomo's famously dense manga. And if this episode is anything to go by, we're in for a great time.Join us!TextTagsClick to add tags.CategoriesClick to add categories.Comments OffNo comments allowed.DraftThis post will not be visible.
We're joined once again by Nick to talk about the first 28 episodes of Kamen Rider OOO, Beach House's inaugral Toku episode.
