Larrick Ebanks, es un británico residente en Mallorca que contrajo el covid en una de las etapas más duras de la pandemia y estuvo a punto de morir. 50 años después de la invasión marroquí del Sáhara Occidental, conocida como la Marcha Verde,  el 80% de ese territorio está ya bajo dominio del país magrebí. La que fuera la provincia 53 española, con sus habitantes reconocidos como ciudadanos españoles de pleno derecho, ve cómo los gobiernos del mundo, y en especial el español los han olvidado. Hablamos con Lucía Muñoz directora del documental "Aminetu" que recuerda cómo la activista prosaharaui tensó las cuerdas de los gobiernos español y marroquí manteniendo una huelga de hambre de 32 días. Fati Jaddad, activista saharaui y el periodista Luis de Vega, excorresponsal en Marruecos y que sigue informando para El País desde Kiev, se han unido a esta denuncia pública del abandono institucional español en este asunto, pese a seguir constando como potencia administradora de ese territorio.

Por lo general, diciendo "no quiero"  Hacer la voluntad de Dios es dejarlo reinar sobre nuestra vida. Aceptar su voluntad es pedir que venga su reino, ya ahora, gobernando nuestra existencia, a la espera de que un día pueda hacerlo de forma universal, gobernando por fin el universo renovado. Pero hasta la venida definitiva de su reino en gloria, nos queda un largo ejercicio de obediencia a la voluntad divina, en el que necesitamos hacer progresos continuos.Esta parte de la oración que nos enseñó Jesús nos pone como ideal para nosotros en la tierra la manera en que la voluntad de Dios es respetada en el cielo (Sal. 103: 20-22). El cielo sigue siendo para nosotros el modelo de lo que deberíamos hacer aquí.Hacer la voluntad de Dios es, en cierto sentido, renunciar a ejercer nuestra voluntad deformada por nuestra naturaleza rebelde, acostumbrada a querer salirse siempre con la suya. Por eso, la oración más sensata que podemos elevar a Dios, sin duda también la más difícil es la oración de Jesús: «No se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya» (Luc. 22: 42). Ese fue también el secreto de su éxito.Cuando Jesús ora en Getsemaní «No se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya», no ignora, sino que presiente con toda lucidez, los horrores que se le avecinan. Entregarse a la voluntad divina para Jesús era confiar en que de todo lo malo que estaba por pasarle, Dios podía sacar algo bueno.Esa confianza en su Padre celestial, que no iba a evitarle los efectos secundarios de dolor que lleva consigo la condición humana en este mundo injusto, iba acompañada de la convicción profunda de que Dios es capaz de sublimar ese sufrimiento y darle un sentido.Entregarnos a la voluntad de Dios no es mera resignación, sino casi lo contrario. Es la decisión de luchar a brazo partido contra la adversidad, pero sabiendo que no estamos solos, que con él nunca lo estaremos. Es la confianza en que lo que nos ocurra, aunque sea malo de momento, jamás podrá separarnos del amor de Dios (Rom. 8: 38-39).Muchos de nuestros semejantes que pasan por situaciones dolorosas necesitan saber que, cuando nos entregamos plenamente a la voluntad divina, podemos confiar en que nada de lo que nos ocurra será en vano. Si estamos en las manos de Dios, podemos estar seguros de que en ningún otro sitio estaremos mejor.Enséñame, Señor, a compartir esta esperanza.

Lo que implicaba, ante todo, buenas noticias para los pobres.En cabeza de su programa estaba, pues, poner en práctica la exigencia divina expresada en Proverbios 31: 8: «¡Levanta la voz por los que no tienen voz! ¡Defiende los derechos de los desposeídos!» (NVI). Es decir: «Habla por los que no pueden hablar y defiende los derechos de los desamparados» (PDT). O como dice todavía otra versión: «¡Alza la voz por aquellos que no pueden alzarla j por sí mismos, defiende a los indefensos!» (NBV).Para todos los que deseamos ser seguidores de Cristo, esto significa que el aportar «buenas noticias a los pobres» tiene que formar parte de nuestro programa. Al asumir la obra de predicar el evangelio de salvación necesitamos asumir también sus implicaciones sociales. No podemos cruzarnos de brazos ante las injusticias como si eso no tuviera nada que ver con nuestro compromiso cristiano. No podemos permanecer indiferentes ante los que sufren y mirar hacia otro lado, limitando nuestro compromiso a un mensaje espiritual.Como decía Martin Luther King Jr., «lo que más me duele no son los actos de la gente mala, sino la indiferencia de la gente buena».Hay un conocido texto atribuido al pastor Martín Niemöller, y del que circulan varias versiones, que dice: «Primero vinieron los nazis a llevarse a los comunistas y yo guardé silencio porque yo no era comunista. Después vinieron a por los sindicalistas, y yo guardé silencio porque yo no era sindicalista. Luego vinieron a por los judíos, y yo me callé porque yo no era judío. Y cuando vinieron a por mí, no había nadie para protestar».Sin embargo, no se trata necesariamente de manifestarse públicamente protestando con pancartas. Se trata mucho más de incluir la solidaridad en nuestro programa de vida. Desde la distribución de nuestro presupuesto, colaboración con algunas ONG, ofrendas o donaciones, hasta actos de voluntariado o de compromiso comunitario. Porque hay maneras de vivir, de consumir, de gastar o de actuar que en lugar de reducir las desigualdades y las injusticias sociales, siempre terminan por dar más poder a los más poderosos, y más dinero a los más ricos.Señor, abre mis ojos para que vea qué puedo hacer para contribuir a «dar buenas noticias a los pobres».

Segundo, que confesara lo que había hecho y no lo encubriera. Acán debía tributar alabanza a Dios admitiendo lo que había hecho. El término hebreo traducido como “confiesa” o “declara” (todah) puede referirse tanto a la acción de gracias (Sal. 26:7; Isa. 51:3; Jer. 17:26) como a la confesión del pecado (Esd. 10:11). Lamentablemente, no hay en el texto bíblico indicación alguna de que Acán diera muestras de verdadero arrepentimiento. Su desafiante actitud indicaba que era un transgresor prepotente para el que no había expiación según la ley de Moisés (comparar con Núm. 15:27-31). Las palabras de Acán en Josué 7:21 recuerdan la caída de Adán y Eva. Ella vio (ra'ah) que el árbol era deseable (jamad) y finalmente tomó (laqaj) de su fruto (Gén. 3:6). En su confesión, Acán admitió que vio (ra'ah) en el botín un hermoso manto babilónico, 200 siclos (2,3 kg) de plata y un lingote de oro. Entonces, los codició (jamad) y los tomó (laqaj). Ella llevó a los espías a la azotea y los escondió de los soldados; el otro tomó cosas prohibidas y las escondió de Josué. Ella actuó bondadosamente con los espías israelitas y los ayudó a lograr la victoria; él trajo problemas a Israel con su avaricia y fue responsable de la derrota de su pueblo. Ella hizo un pacto con los israelitas; él rompió el pacto con Dios. La papelería Ferrer se fundó en 1856 y casi 170 años después, va por su quita generación.
