Check out the 1000 Hours Outside Mega Bundle that includes the 2026 Kick-Off Pack here Get your free 2026 tracker sheets here ** In this conversation, Ginny Yurich sits down with natural playscape designer and author Rusty Keeler to talk about what kids are actually built for: climbing, hiding, building, negotiating, tumbling, experimenting, and testing themselves in the real world. Rusty shares how a trip to Europe shifted his whole philosophy from equipment-based playgrounds to wild, nature-rich spaces full of loose parts, nooks and crannies, mud, water, tools, and possibility—plus why his book Adventures in Risky Play is basically a permission slip for parents who feel like childhood has gotten over-managed. Rusty reminds us that kids don't need us to manufacture wonder. They need time, space, and a little more trust. What does real healing look like after betrayal—and who walks with you when the shock wears off and the long road begins? In this episode of The Redeemed Marriage Podcast, Rusty and Heather sit down with Pennye Dees, the woman who stepped into Heather's life just days after her confession of infidelity. Pennye shares her story, her calling, and why she believes deeply in walking with people patiently, faithfully, and over the long haul. The conversation explores the earliest days after betrayal, what mattered most spiritually and emotionally, and why true healing requires more than quick fixes. Pennye offers wisdom for betraying spouses who want to do the right thing but feel overwhelmed, as well as for betrayed spouses who are trying to discern whether real heart change is taking place. Listeners will gain clarity around questions many couples quietly wrestle with: What does true repentance look like beyond words? How can someone tell if a heart is genuinely turning toward Jesus rather than simply seeking relief from consequences? What signs point to lasting transformation instead of temporary behavior change? The episode also casts vision for the often-overlooked gift of mentoring. Pennye explains why mentors are so critical during seasons of crisis and healing, what they provide that even well-meaning friends or pastors may not, and how to begin seeking that kind of support. For couples in crisis, in recovery, or simply longing for deeper discipleship and accountability, this episode offers hope, wisdom, and a clear reminder that healing was never meant to be done alone. Because Christmas falls on a Thursday this year, it really cuts into the work schedule of the last two weeks of the year. But we didn't want to go two full weeks without sharing some content on the podcast. I mean, after all, you can't watch football non-stop, right? So this week and next we'll be re-airing a couple of episodes from years past that you may have missed, especially if you are a new listener to the podcast. On today's program, we're re-airing a podcast from the summer of 2023 with Rusty and Carol Leonard, the founders of MinistryWatch. I recorded this conversation with them on the occasion of MinistryWatch's 25th anniversary. We're now almost two years farther on, but MinistryWatch's origin story, and Rusty and Carol's testimony of faithfulness, not to mention God's faithfulness in sustaining this ministry, are more relevant and – to me – more encouraging than ever. So, with no further introduction, here's the original podcast episode from June 14, 2023, in its entirety.

Season's greetings! In this chillingly festive holiday special, we dive into the shadows behind one of the world's most beloved icons—Santa Claus—and uncover something far more enigmatic and profound. For this unique Christmas episode, we're revisiting two extraordinary interviews from the archives, featuring guests who, entirely independently, encountered a mysterious figure they both identified as “Father Christmas.” This is not the cheerful, gift-giving saint of holiday lore, but an ancient, otherworldly entity that appeared during profound, life-altering paranormal experiences—described with haunting similarity across decades and circumstances. Was this a cunning extraterrestrial disguise, leveraging the familiar image of Santa to mask its true intent? Or are we glimpsing the hidden, primordial essence of the Christmas legend itself?First, we revisit Episode 31: A Lifetime of Alien Abduction with the remarkable Linda Thompson. A lifelong experiencer and dedicated UFO researcher, Linda courageously shares decades of encounters, including a childhood visitation by a towering figure with glowing red eyes—clad in the unmistakable garb of Father Christmas. Then, prepare to be astonished as we present Episode 227: I Saw Santa with investigator Rusty Jones. Rusty recounts his own breathtaking sighting of this same cryptic being, alongside other cryptid and paranormal phenomena, revealing striking parallels that defy coincidence. Two witnesses. Two separate stories. One inexplicable presence bridging the worlds of UFO abduction, high strangeness, and ancient holiday mythology.Dim the lights, pour a steaming mug of cocoa, stoke the fire, and join us as we explore the eerie intersection of Christmas wonder and the unknown. It has been a very long road to get to this place with Rusty. He and I have spent countless days and more miles than I care to think about chasing birds from the artic circle to the mexican border and everywhere in between. But finally we have done it. In this episode we discuss how amazing valley quail are as a game bird. Covey dynamics, mountain lions, chukar and much much more.

The Morning Shift crew and Rusty also discuss college football needing to find some sort of limit on transfers, Kirby Smart and his staff game planning for Ole Miss, but also getting the players to focus on just getting better, Ole Miss interim Head Coach Pete Golding not only having to be the interim Head Coach for Ole Miss, but also the final decision maker when it comes to logistics and things of that nature, and if Rusty thinks this Sugar Bowl win against Ole Miss would be extra sweet because he would be ripping away a bonus check from former Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin. Then Dylan, Beau, and Ali, talk about Christmas desserts and snacks and debate if Red Velvet and Vanilla are the same flavor or not. The Morning Shift crew also lets you hear Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris talk about how they were able to slow down Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride in their 26-19 win over the Cardinals on Sunday, react to what Coach Morris had to say, talk about how a case can be made to fire Raheem Morris or bring Raheem back next season, and then close out hour three by diving into the life of Beau “Squidbilly” Morgan in The Life of Squid!

"Rusty" Rush during a press event at last week's 20th Anniversary Tech Skills Rodeo in Nashville and covers the following stories: a pop-up survey, which was actually more of a push poll, from what appeared to be a Liberal Organization regarding whether you support lawmakers' plans to ban gas cars; Wreaths Across America reported the results of the wreath laying ceremony this past December 13th; the National Association of Realtors released their Existing-Home Sales Report; Kevin has the details, sifts through the data, puts the information into historical perspective, offers his opinions and insights.
In this lighthearted and completely unscripted Christmas episode, Rusty and Heather shake things up with a game that was not planned and definitely not rehearsed. Heather presses play on a Christmas song and without warning, Rusty races to guess the title, and then—on the spot—has to turn that song into real, practical marriage advice. No notes. No preparation. Just quick thinking, honest insight, and a lot of laughter. What unfolds is a mix of singing, playful pressure, and surprisingly meaningful moments as familiar Christmas songs spark unexpected conversations about love, connection, and what really matters in marriage. The advice isn't polished or prepackaged—it's raw, spontaneous, and rooted in real life. This episode is a reminder that marriage growth doesn't always have to be heavy to be helpful. Sometimes the best wisdom shows up when guards are down, expectations are low, and joy leads the way. If you're looking for encouragement, laughs, and a fresh way to think about your marriage during the Christmas season, this one delivers. The Redeemed Marriage Website

After 35 years behind the scenes of some of television's most iconic reality shows, Rusty Austin has traded cameras for crayons—and the result is pure magic for young readers. Drawing on decades of storytelling experience from top-rated series like Hell's Kitchen, Survivor, Big Brother, COPS, and Nanny 911, Austin now creates illustrated children's books that blend playful poetry, fascinating animal facts, and hands-on creativity. Since retiring from Hollywood in 2018, Austin has published six books, including four children's titles that encourage curiosity, learning, and artistic expression. His latest release, An Awesome Bird, The Pelican, features illustrations created entirely by local middle school students, giving kids the rare chance to see their own artwork inside a published book. Each poem introduces young readers to animals from around the world—what they eat, where they live, and even fun scientific concepts like echolocation and nictitating membranes—without ever feeling like a lesson. Beloved by parents, grandparents, and educators alike, Austin's books include interactive DIY sections that invite children to draw, color, write, and sign their own pages—turning reading into a shared creative experience. His mission is simple but powerful: help kids laugh, learn, and feel confident following their curiosity. Rusty Austin is available for interviews to discuss his Hollywood journey, his transition to children's literature, and how poetry, education, and community collaboration can inspire the next generation of artists, thinkers, and storytellers.http://rustyaustin.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/i-am-refocused-radio--2671113/support.Subscribe now at YouTube.com/@RefocusedNetworkThank you for your time.

Episode 350 is a Christmas-season milestone for The Kibbe & Friends Show, and the guys deliver exactly what the week before Christmas calls for: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with all the extra flavor only K&F can add. Rob, Corndog, and Bernie celebrate the “small block Chevy” episode number, clink moose mugs, share the good news that Holley is back for 2026, and recap a successful Toys for Tots push—setting the table for a holiday episode that feels equal parts tradition, gratitude, and pure fun. From there, the crew dives into why Christmas Vacation still works no matter how many times you've seen it. They talk about aging from Rusty into Clark Griswold, revisit the scenes that still make them laugh every single time, and swap favorite moments that prove it's not about the plot—it's about delivery, timing, and how real the chaos feels. Along the way, they sprinkle in car-guy details, Vacation lore, and a killer behind-the-scenes nugget about a scripted ending that never made the final cut. If this movie is part of your yearly ritual, this episode will make you want to queue it up again as soon as the show ends. HR3 - Kyle Pitts' inconsistency makes it hard for Falcons to justify re-signing him In hour three Mike Johnson, Ali Mac, and Beau Morgan spend some time with the Co-Owner and Publisher of Dawgs HQ and Co-Host of The Steakhouse, Rusty Mansell! Ali, Mike, Beau, and Rusty discuss what's been Rusty's favorite part about calling and covering some of the Georgia High School football State Championship games this week, Aaron Philo declaring that he's entering the transfer portal, if a big part of hiring head football coaches in college football these days is what coordinators and players they can bring with them, Oregon Ducks Dante Moore quarterback being ranked ahead of Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton in ESPN's current Top 50 college football players rankings list, Diego Pavia's comments after not winning the Heisman Trophy, how Georgia has done a good job of not having players in the headlines about going into the transfer portal, how Rusty feels about the Texas A&M vs. Miami first round College Football Playoff game, and some ACC teams having to play eight conference games next year and some ACC teams having to play nine conference games next year. Then, Mike, Beau, and Ali let you hear some of Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris' conversation with Dukes & Bell yesterday where he's talking about facing the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and the challenges they will bring offensively. In this episode, you'll learn about a powerful alternative to restricted, project-based funding: enterprise capital for nonprofits. Guest Andrea Levere, founder and CEO of Capitalize Good, explains why nonprofits—like any enterprise—need multi-year, flexible capital that strengthens their balance sheets, builds reserves, and supports the people and systems that drive impact. Andrea breaks down the basic financial principles that determine nonprofit sustainability, and how enterprise capital enables organizations to innovate, hire essential staff, invest in technology, and create high-quality jobs. She also shares compelling examples—from affordable housing developers to workforce builders—showing how this kind of capital supports everything from salaries and benefits to new program development and strategic growth.Andrea and Rusty also dig into the relationship between talent-investing and enterprise capital, the pitfalls of scarcity-based philanthropy, and how funders can more effectively match their “sources of funds” to the actual needs of organizations. Andrea shares stories from Capitalize Good's partnerships with funders like the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation and the Citi Foundation's Community Progress Makers, as well as the emerging work in Arkansas to pilot enterprise capital approaches statewide. Listeners will come away with a clear understanding of how enterprise capital works, why it matters, and how both nonprofits and funders can adopt this transformative approach.Download an edited transcript of the episode in .PDF formatLinks to Resources:Gift to Listeners: 6 Months Free Subscription to FTP Podcast Premium on Patreon (up to 50 people). On this week's Political Breakfast, we're doing a recap of some local runoff election results. The cities of East Point, Roswell, Sandy Springs and South Fulton were all electing mayors last Tuesday. Voters chose new ones in all except Sandy Springs. The City of Roswell surprised many as a completely blue flip, as former Democratic State Representative Mary Robichaux nabbed 53 percent of the vote, and defeated incumbent Republican Mayor Kurt Wilson. But it was a different story in nearby Sandy Springs, as Mayor Rusty Paul cruised to a fourth term, getting 69 percent of the vote and a nearly 7-thousand margin victory, over Democratic challenger Dontaye Carter. Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson and Republican strategist Brian Robinson focus on those races in north Atlanta with host Lisa Rayam.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this deeply vulnerable Christmas episode, Rusty and Heather revisit their first holiday season after the affair—only four months into the most painful chapter of their marriage. While Christmas is often portrayed as magical, peaceful, and sentimental, their reality was filled with fear, shame, awkward family gatherings, and the heavy tension of trying to celebrate while still grieving what had been lost. They share what it felt like to navigate meaningful holiday moments while carrying heartbreak, and how the pressure to “hold it together for the kids” made everything even more complicated. Yet woven through the pain is a powerful story of Emmanuel—God with us—showing up in the middle of their brokenness. Rusty and Heather describe how God began the earliest stages of healing during a season that should have felt unbearable, proving that the miracle of Jesus entering a messy world still heals marriages today. They offer encouragement for couples who are simply trying to survive the holidays, reminding listeners that they don't have to pretend, they don't have to hide, and they don't have to wait for the new year to see God move. Hope, healing, and restoration can begin right in the middle of the Christmas season.
