When I first saw Rusty Rabbit and the cute but grizzled main character named Stamp, I didn't know what to think. At first I thought it was going to be some Animal Crossing wannabe title, but was completely wrong once I saw him leaping into a mecha-like suit and drilling and dashing his way through levels.

Are you questioning the sustainability of leadership practices in your organization? How might centering the experiences and perspectives of women of color transform leadership in the social sector? What would it look like if funders truly listened to what nonprofit organizations need and responded accordingly? In this powerful episode, Rusty speaks with Safi Jiroh, Executive Director of LeaderSpring Center, to answer some of these questions. This episode delves into LeaderSpring's evolution from supporting only executive directors to creating a fellowship for women of color leaders at all levels in nonprofits. Safi discusses how the organization redesigned its curriculum to address systemic barriers and promote liberatory leadership practices while challenging unsustainable expectations in the nonprofit sector.Safi offers profound insights on what women of color bring to leadership roles, including community, empathy, lived experience, love, resilience, intuition, and truth-telling as primary contributions. The discussion tackles the current political climate where diversity, equity, and inclusion work is under attack, with Safi emphasizing the need to "fight to dream" and "fight to innovate" despite opposition. She challenges philanthropy to examine practices that create "bondage for nonprofit organizations" and to demonstrate the will to change by releasing control and embracing vulnerability. You can find all the episodes of this podcast plus our blog, toolkit and other resources at fundthepeople.org. And we invite you to learn from all the amazing past guests of Fund the People - A Podcast with Rusty Stahl at fundthepeople.org/ftp_podcast.BioSafi's deep family and cultural history of social and racial justice rooted in an ethic of love, service, and liberation in Oakland, California, formed her fierce dedication to servant leadership and development of a strong racial justice lens in life and work. Retired trial judge, Rusty Duke, came to the Hoffman Process on the advice of his wise, eleven-year-old granddaughter. Her father, Rusty's son, had returned home happier after his time in California. While swinging on a porch swing together, Rusty and his granddaughter were talking. She said she thought that Rusty, her grandfather, was happy, but Rusty would return from California even happier, just like her dad had. Rusty listened to her wise counsel. Just two days later, he registered for the Process. The prominent theme running through Rusty's story is happiness. He was a happy child. He has a good life. And, Rusty did, indeed, return home even happier. One of the most important realizations students have during the Process is that we are not our patterns. Before coming to the Process, Rusty didn't know he had patterns. Realizing that we have patterns and that we aren't those patterns can open the door to a deeper discovery of life and who we are. In Rusty's words, Hoffman "brings a reality to life. It helps you to stop and listen and consider where you are, who you are, and what you are." During his week at the Process, Rusty crossed the 'bridge' into a newfound sense of self-love, shepherded by the love he felt from his Process-mates. He'd never really heard anyone talk about self-love before. Rusty left California and returned home, leaving behind the negative voices in his head that can keep self-love at bay. We hope you enjoy this heartwarming conversation with Judge Rusty Duke and Drew. More about Rusty Duke: Rusty Duke is a retired trial judge, married 52 years, with three children and nine grandchildren. He lives in Greenville, North Carolina, and is 'Of Counsel' at a local law firm. Duke enjoys visiting with his children and grandchildren and traveling with his family and friends. He enjoys being involved in community activities and service. Rusty enjoys speaking to various local civic groups and caring for a local camp. He recently published his first book, “Call Your Next Case: My Stories.” As mentioned in this episode: Blackbeard the Pirate Edward Teach (or Thatch), better known as Blackbeard (c. 1680 – 22 November 1718) Blackbird's buried treasure chest Blackbeard House in Beaufort, NC, circa 1700 The Algonquian Peoples Hoffman tools mentioned: The Quadrinity Spiritual Self, the body, the intellect, and the emotional self. Patterns: Patterns are typically negative, compulsive, automatic, and emotionally charged. They can be direct copies of parental behaviors, rebellions against them, or reactions to them. Read more about patterns here. Recylcing Transforming negative patterns into positive alternatives requires following the Cycle of Transformation. The tool used to transform patterns is recycling. The Hoffman App Your journey to discover your authentic self does not end after completing a Hoffman course. Rather, it is just the beginning. The Hoffman App is here to support you as you continue this journey, today and far into the future. The app is full of guidance, practices, and visualizations to inspire and help you achieve your personal goals. We like to think of this app as “Hoffman in your pocket.” It's available at the App Store.

VIDEO VERSION HERE https://youtube.com/live/nZxg1P8JU7E?feature=share Opie and the crew at Get Farts unleash a chaotic, laugh-filled episode packed with rock 'n' roll debates, bizarre NYC tales, and unfiltered banter. They riff on the best Led Zeppelin album, a turkey named Astoria roaming Midtown, and Katy Perry’s questionable "penis rocket" space trip. The hilarity escalates with a Central Park bathroom emergency busted by a cop, a shady church tax scam, and a Thai New Year water fight. Things get wilder with claims of Jim Morrison living as a maintenance worker in Syracuse, Bob Ross’s drill instructor past, and Katy Perry as a shape-shifting reptilian. JQ’s divorce bombshell sparks talk of dating apps and mama’s boys, while parallel parking play-by-plays and a nod to Jackie Robinson keep it real. This is Opie Radio at its most unhinged and hilarious!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
