When a terrible workplace accident kills a guy on a terraforming station, it's easy to blame the coworker that looks like Joe Exotic. But after the investigation reveals the true culprit, their defense is a little offensive. Is there such thing as a friendly-looking laser? What's the worst insult you can call a human being? Can a hummer be a sign of life? It's a very prison-based episode today, as John reveals he might be going there for petty crime, and Elis draws parallels between Albert Camus's prison-residing outsider Meursault and Johnny JR. Was Camus foreshadowing the life of our favourite Bristol-born broadcaster? But don't worry, it's not all highbrow existentialism. John discovers another self-penned story on his hard drive that involves farts (but crucially, is not ABOUT farts). Also expect answers to the questions: Can you Cymru Connect over a horse? Can you take your odd socks to a raffle? And is the sky really a neighbourhood?Transmit your thoughts to email and send them pronto to hello@elisandjohn.com.For lots of exclusive EJJR #content, join our Patreon at patreon.com/elisandjohn. This week, in Brunswick, Georgia, the discovery of two bodies, stacked in a storage shed unravels the wild story of a strange family, and a town that goes into lockdown mode. The man accused of these awful killings has an explanation, but it's as crazy as the actual murders, and pretty hard to believe. In the end, we have no idea if this killer's sister put him up to it, or even if she tried to have another husband killed. What we do know is that doesn't seem to be a family that you'd want to marry into!! Along the way, we find out that Elvis impersonators have a very odd niche in the entertainment industry, that you shouldn't let your bail jumping brother come live with you, and that no one has ever actually tried to play tug of war, using their teenage daughter as the rope!! Hey UN•THERAPIST,We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…Picture this: a family wants to sit together and asks if you'd be willing to switch seats. What determines your answer:Is it an automatic yes because it's the kind thing to do? Or does it depend on the seat they're offering in return? Does it have to be the same value? The same legroom? The same location? Or is kindness supposed to outweigh convenience? Then we took the conversation one step further...What about those exit-row seats? You agree to sit there, but once the flight takes off, you realize the responsibility is greater than you expected.Do you quietly hope nothing happens... or do you let the flight attendant know you're no longer comfortable with the responsibility? Because sometimes we say "yes" before we fully understand what we're agreeing to.So now we're asking...
What does it actually take to make a marriage last for over 20 years? This week on Tea At Four, hosts Billy and Christie sit down with UK power couple Matt and Emma Willis for an incredibly honest conversation about the realities of long-term love, communication, and modern relationships.Emma opens up about why she initially resisted couples therapy - admitting she thought she "didn't have trauma" - and how a single neutral session transformed the way they communicate. They also share why you should stop trying to change your partner and the truth behind those wild internet headlines (including a fake hot tub row and a proposal interrupted by Busted fans).Plus, we ask them to play Agony Aunt and Uncle to answer your relationship dilemmas: Should you care if your partner won't post you on social media? And how do you handle a partner who is reluctant to go to therapy? Finally, Matt and Emma give us the inside scoop on hosting the highly anticipated series of Love Is Blind UK on Netflix, what to expect from the couples, and the release schedule details you need to know.If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe, leave a comment with your thoughts on the "three-day rule," and share this with someone who needs to hear Matt and Emma's relationship wisdom.00:34 - Matt and Emma Willis are back: What's changed?01:00 - Love Is Blind UK: Why this series is the best yet01:51 - Do Matt & Emma have favorite couples? Mike spends the cold open dodging one simple question: why, exactly, are he and Chris watching a 1979 Romanian comedy called Nea Mărin miliardar? He won't say. The answer arrives thirty minutes and seventeen seconds in, when a stranger billed as Detective Columbo shuffles into frame and asks for one more thing.Director Sergiu Nicolaescu's mistaken-identity farce casts Amza Pellea in a double role as a bumpkin uncle and the American billionaire he's confused with, with Puiu Călinescu doing his best Peter Falk impression as the country's most inexplicable cameo cop. Two sets of gangsters, a kidnapped heiress, a doubled briefcase, and a laundry chute all get involved. Mike and Chris trace the Columbo Connected Universe to Ceaușescu's Romania, debate whether Falk owns the character even secondhand, and confirm that Columbo was universal.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-shabby-detective-yet-another-columbo-podcast--5084441/support.

On this episode of The Bourbon Life Podcast, Mark travels to Louisville to sit down with Steve Smith, Founder of Uncle Boojie's Distilling Co., for a captivating conversation about family history, Kentucky heritage, and the role bourbon plays in connecting us to the stories that came before us. Steve shares his own background as an entrepreneur, preservationist, and storyteller before diving into the remarkable history of his Howard family ancestors, whose distilling roots in Howardstown, Kentucky, date back to the late 1700s. He discusses the research that uncovered generations of family involvement in whiskey production and how that discovery ultimately inspired the creation of Uncle Boojie's Distilling Co. The conversation also explores the origins of Uncle Boojie's, the story behind the company's namesake, and Steve's vision for creating something far greater than a bourbon brand. Through the concept of "Porchlight Hospitality," Steve explains how Uncle Boojie's seeks to create meaningful experiences that bring people together through bourbon, storytelling, and genuine Kentucky hospitality. Mark and Steve also discuss the importance of preserving family history, the fascinating ways our individual stories intersect with one another, and how bourbon serves as a thread that weaves throughout Kentucky's shared history and culture. Steve shares his passion for helping visitors discover not only his family's story, but also connections to their own histories and the larger story of Kentucky itself. The conversation concludes with a look at Uncle Boojie's Homeplace, one of the newest destinations on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, and what guests can expect when they visit the unique Louisville experience. Along the way, they enjoy three exceptional pours: • Lana – 9-Year-Old Double Oaked Single Barrel Bourbon • Ivy – 7-Year-Old Single Barrel Rye • Prohibition-Style Bourbon – Yet to be released Whether you're fascinated by bourbon history, passionate about genealogy and family heritage, or simply enjoy hearing the stories behind the people and brands shaping Kentucky whiskey today, this episode offers a thoughtful and entertaining look at how bourbon, history, and human connection continue to intertwine across generations. Be sure to pour yourself a great glass, sit back, and join us for another great episode of The Bourbon Life Podcast. The Episode of The Bourbon Life Podcast is presented by Pappy & Co., District 7 Social, and The Kitchen Table at the James B. Beam Distilling Co.
Made outside of traditional funding structures, 'Uncle' is a true number 8 wire story. The debut feature from Ryan Alexander-Lloyd was realised with the support of friends, whanau and community. The film follows a man who unexpectedly becomes the caregiver for his best friend's young son after an accident. It aims to platform a side to Maori men that isn't often portrayed on screen. At the heart of the film is the screen debut from three-year-old RJ Lloyd (the director's son), who had no idea a film was being made, let alone that he was in one. Uncle is currently screening as part of the NZIFF. Writer and director Ryan Alexander-Lloyd and lead actor Rihari Te Are speak with Kate and Mihi.

Hey UN•THERAPIST,We need your help UN•THERAPIZING something…This conversation started after watching an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, where Pinky Cole shared that she had filed for bankruptcy... but hadn't told her husband. That sparked a bigger question...Where does privacy end... and pride begin? If you're willing to share something with the world, should your spouse have heard it first?Marriage is a partnership... so why do some people operate like sole proprietors? Are there decisions that belong to just you? Or once you say "I do," do certain conversations automatically become "we" conversations? Then we went even deeper...Where does transparency end and secrecy begin? How far back does transparency go? Is your partner entitled to know everything about your past, or are there some chapters that don't need to be reopened? When someone says, "That's private," are they protecting their peace... or protecting themselves from accountability?Maybe the bigger question isn't whether you have a right to privacy.Maybe it's this: Can a partnership truly thrive if one person is carrying information the other never gets the chance to hold?Join us for another session of UN•THERAPY as we UN•THERAPIZE privacy versus pride, transparency versus secrecy, and what true partnership really looks like.

Snyder hosts as Dave and Bohmbach take on Gabe Pulver and Jamie Hirsh from the Menschwarmers podcast in a game featuring Jewish Sports Quarterly All-Stars. Gabe names Bohmbach a “Mike Jacobs All-Star” (sounds Jewish but isn't), along with hammer toss champ Ethan Katzberg. In the first quarter, Luks reveals Bob Geldof's unknown child, Zach, and Gabe recalls Charles Barkley racing Dick Bavetta. During a second-quarter Missing Link, Gabe remembers Remember the Titans, and guesses that the Jewish link might somehow be related to papal names. In halftime, we learn that Nemo's dad came up with the theory of relativity, and that the star of a Fish Called Wanda could have been Jamie Lee …Schwartz??? The third quarter sees both teams go deep in the very shallow pool of Jewish Quarterbacks, as the Menschwarmers unwrap the kimono on Scott Zolak, and query (quite un-Jewishly, I might add) that if Charlie Whitehurst was clipboard Jesus, was his dad David “clipboard God”? In a very Luks moment, David makes a pop culture reference to Allan Sherman, who did “Harvey and Sheila.” The Menschwarmers answer at least two questions correctly because of Jewish Geography, and while kibbitzing in the fourth quarter, David shares that, contrary to popular belief, he was not at the 1946 All-Star Game, because it was his Bar Mitzvah. No one gets Snyder's clue on the last question, and we end by exchanging misdelivered mail. #philiproth #riseball #demardiedforthis #Jewishgeography #MichaelJordon #LuksisBostonPops *For a glossary of Jewish terms and phrases used in this episode, go to https://tinyurl.com/Menschwarmers https://dobosdelights.com/ Promo Code: CheckYourTaint https://www.patreon.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.facebook.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.twitter.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.instagram.com/benchwarmerstp/ https://www.teepublic.com/stores/benchwarmers-trivia-podcast

When it comes to mountain bike races, nothing captures the essence of the sport better than the Downieville Classic. Since 1995, the Classic has evolved with mountain biking's growth, challenging riders with soul crushing climbs and rocky, rugged descents pushing both rider and bike to their absolute limits. As one of the only point-to-point races left in America, the Downieville Classic is the ultimate test of what it takes to be a well-rounded mountain biker. Add in a historic Gold Rush-era town perfectly preserved in time, the Classic is as unforgettable to spectate as it is to participate. Season 3, Episode 12. This episode is about "the band beyond description" or at least a band that plays their music. AJ sits down with Vic DeRobertis, founder and guitarist of Playing Dead, New England's premier Grateful Dead tribute band. For more than 30 years, Vic has dedicated himself to honoring the music, spirit, and community of the Grateful Dead. Playing Dead has earned a reputation becoming the first call for many of the Commonwealth's most notable Grateful Dead celebrations. From performing at Jerry Day at Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox to commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead's legendary performance at Boston's Music Hall (now the Wang Theatre), Playing Dead has become an institution for Deadheads throughout New England. The band is also celebrating an incredible milestone—its five-year Wednesday night residency at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, where fans continue to gather week after week to experience the music and the community that surrounds it. Join AJ and Vic as they talk about the music, the history, the enduring culture of the Grateful Dead, and what it means to keep the legacy alive for generations of fans. Not to mention an amazing acoustic performance of "Ripple".
Hour 2 of Jake & Ben on July 27, 2026 Sam Farnsworth from KSL TV talks Utah Jazz, NBA parity, Big 12 CFB predictions. Is Christian a Bad Uncle? Why did the Miami Heat leak a LeBron press conference that was never going to happen?
Brian welcomes Kim Trobee from Focus on the Family for a conversation timed to National Aunt and Uncle Day (July 26). Kim explains why aunts and uncles occupy a unique space in a child's life: one step removed from the parent-child conflict, able to ask questions, share humanizing stories, and reinforce a family's rules without becoming "the bad guy." She also warns against the real danger of aunts and uncles undermining parents, especially in blended or divorced families, and offers practical ways to stay close across long distances — social media, birthday cards, and simply showing up as a steady, loving presence. Brian and Kim close with an encouragement for any aunt or uncle listening to reach out this week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Opie's running on 4 hours of sleep after a 3AM dog-poop emergency (and a $200 anal sac explosion at the vet). Ron calls him out, Tony piles on with iced-coffee hacks and soccer hate, and internet beast Be A Man rolls in for savage FUs on sandals, tipping culture, and his wildest story yet — knocking up a married Vietnamese nursing home worker and secretly being dad to a kid who thinks he's “Uncle.” Non-stop chaos, Boston mob tales, and Be A Man prepping to face Joey Chestnut in wings.
