Whether we purchase for fun or function, it can safely be said that the things we buy serve a purpose. While some items provide entertainment or utility, others hold space, both literally and figuratively, for much deeper sentiments. Tristan Sacrey, who you may know from his "Scooby Hunting" series on TikTok, began collecting Scooby Doo merchandise in 2018 as a way to connect to the cherished memories of his late father. What started as a coping mechanism for a tremendous loss eventually grew into a healing hobby which he now shares with his partner, Brad (also an avid collector), along with his following on social media. Join the conversation as we discuss the everlasting appeal of Scooby Doo and the personal challenges this pastime has helped to alleviate, as well as the hopes and plans for the future of his collection, and much more!Follow Tristan on TikTok, Instagram and YoutubeSend us a Text Message.Follow Buychiatry on Patreon, Youtube, Instagram & TikTok Click Here to see a list of Buychiatry prescribed medication!

Screw It, We're Just Gonna Talk About Comics is the only podcast in human history where two brothers talk about a thing that they like, in this case, comic books. Will and Kevin Hines are those two brothers, who are also kind of comedians and so much more. Who Is The Man Behind These Familiar Voices?#voiceover #voiceactor #animation #anime David Kaye's voice over career began with ‘The Great American Hero', General Hawk in the DIC animation series, GI Joe in 1989. Working as an on air talent for radio station CKLG (LG73) quickly became less interesting as both on camera and behind the mic roles started taking up more time. Over the next decade and a half David's on camera burgeoned along with his voice career.David's biggest moment was when he was cast as ‘Megatron' in 1994 in the wonderfully popular series ‘Transformers.' As a new animation art form was taking off bolstered by Mainframe Entertainment. ‘Beast Wars' was born (‘Beasties' in Canada) and would run for four seasons of “…the most fun you could ever have!”, says Kaye. Thus began an almost a twenty year relationship with the ‘Transformers' franchise. In 2007, David “crossed over” to become the only actor in the history of the franchise to play the lead villain AND the lead hero when he was cast as ‘Optimus Prime' for Cartoon Network's ‘Transformers: Animated.”For Anime fans, David Kaye has been the voice behind ‘Sesshomaru' in the English dubbed ‘Inuyasha' series, ‘Treize Khushrenada' in ‘Mobile Suit Gundam Wing,' ‘Recoome' in ‘Dragon Ball Z' ('96-'98) and as the high strung father, ‘Soun Tendo' in ‘Ranma 1/2′. His anime work still brings fans to conventions to meet him.David landed a role in Disney/Pixar's Oscar winning movie, ‘Up.'As the work keeps coming in, David's voice can be heard in Insomniac's ‘Ratchet & Clank' video game series as the loveable robot ‘Clank and “Hale' on'. He's also been featured in ‘Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions' as ‘Mysterio', ‘Nick Fury' and ‘Captain America' in ‘Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2', ‘Missing Link' in ‘Monsters vs Aliens', the game and many more.David is now working on another highly popular series ‘Ben 10' as the lead villain and is a Regular cast member of the follow up to ‘Xaolin Showdown,' ‘Xiaolin Chronicles'. As well as working with the great JG Quintel on ‘Flap Jack' and ‘The Regular Show' Kaye is re-curing on Scooby Doo! Every episode, we invoke his name. Now it's time to really talk about Scooby-Doo by covering Mystery Incorporated, the Cartoon Network animated series that ran from 2010-2013. This story places the gang in the seaside town Crystal Cove, where they discover a history of supernatural problems, and a history of other mystery-solving teams that met dreadful ends trying to uncover the town's secrets. We talk about how the story stands on its own but is also a metacommentary on the entire Scooby franchise, how it gives these characters a wider emotional range and new team dynamics, the homages to all kinds of horror and mystery media, and The Hex Girls. Gregory Zarian recently joined host Elias in the cave! He co-stars in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy “That's Amor” which streams worldwide on August 25th. The film is about a young lady finding love at a local cooking class. Gregory plays ‘David', and his husband ‘Todd' is played by Paul Witten; they are hilarious members of the couple's cooking class. It is a feel-good film about finding love, and how love is love. Gregory was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the category “Outstanding Performance by a supporting Actor in a Digital Drama” for his role on the Emmy-winning web series, "Venice the Series.” He has also reoccurred on “Days of Our Lives” and “General Hospital,” and guest starred on “Entourage,” “Criminal Minds,” “Bones,” "Castle,” “Revenge”, and “The Mentalist” among others. Gregory can currently be seen in the new “Mystery Incorporated” pilot episode, which is a live-action series based on the characters from "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?", but with a modern filter for a new generation. You probably forgot that there was a Space Jam 2 in 1999, thanks to the memory-erasing feature at the end. Thanks to the internet, people now know to blink during that part. Joining me again Zach Arnold from the Intergalactic Peace Coalition Podcast. What did we think of the wacky crossover elements? How well does this work as a baseball/basketball/golf movie? What about Michael Jordan's acting in this one? And what's the deal with Berserk-O? Listen to our thoughts! Show Notes: 5:00 - Here's that Trust Your Doctor episode. Space Jam 2 talk is toward the end. 13:00 - June Bugs info on the Cartoon Network Wiki. 13:45 - Loonatics Unleashed follows the descendants of the Looney Tunes characters. Check out the wild premise on Wikipedia. 17:30 - When it comes to Scooby-Doo, lots of people love how Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998) subverted the expectations of the monsters being fake. I also remember enjoying Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue (2006-2008) because it was a change from the repetitive mystery-solving and more of a comedic spy show. But my favorite thing in the franchise is Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated (2010-2013), which was more of a serialized ongoing mystery. 28:30 - I realized after the fact that I could've mentioned High School Musical, which I know Zach hates. 41:00 - Stan's product placement line in this Honest Trailer. 46:30 - Captain Impressive on the Superhero Wiki. 1:20:55 - #BeeBeeQWatch Here's that IPC announcement. Speaking of Duck Dodgers and The Iron Giant, check out this clip from the former parodying the end of the latter, featuring Robot-O. The original Space Jam website is still up somehow.
