Marcus hat auf dem Filmfestival Cologne einen Preis überreicht - an den legendären Regisseur Abel Ferrara ("The Driller Killer", "King of New York", "Bad Lieutenant").

Jack Finney's 1955 science-fiction novel 'The Body Snatchers' is maybe the only underlying intellectual property (aside from, like, the Bible or Shakespeare) to inspire FOUR feature film versions across 6 decades.  So we start at the beginning with the fantastic Don Siegel (Escape From Alcatraz, Dirty Harry, Charlie Varrick) directed 1956 version, morph into uncanny likenesses of ourselves as we go deep 70's with Sutherland, Leonard Nimoy, Brooke Adams, and Jeff Goldblum, with appreciative asides for Abel Ferarra's 1990's version starring Gabrielle Anwar and less appreciative asides for a 2000's debacle starring Nicole Kidman and Jeremy Northam.  ALSO: the least-believable nosebleed in movie history, the great Meg Tilly, and we're joined by Friend Of The Pod Paul Kaup to hear his amazing story of a diffident childhood cat and to dive into Tati v. James Charles, speaking of pod people. And In Defense Of Keanu might have to become a thing, b/c Paul and Jason are suitably moved by Keanu's excellent answer on Colbert while Chris remains stone-hearted.

Kenny and Brandon struggle to muster some amount of life and energy after gritting their teeth through an obscure Abel Ferarra film 'New Rose Hotel,' in which Walken is again let loose from his leash in his unhinged, wacky performance as an eccentric blah blah businessman blah blah. After discussing how obnoxious Abel Ferarra is in interviews, Afterwards, they read the plot of their next film 'Eternal' and fantasize about it being a fun, fish-out-of-water comedy, when it, in fact, seems like the complete opposite. In the "Walken in Our Shoes" segment, Kenny describes a documentary series he's working on about gay athletes, and Brandon talks about a No Small Parts video he'll be working on with Kenny about an Indian actor.

In their first podcast recorded from opposite sides of the country, Kenny starts the podcast by recounting an experience earlier in the morning when he found an injured crow on the side of the road and took it to an animal sancutary. Brandon and Kenny then discuss Christopher Walken's performance as a conflicted gangster in the thought-provoking, yet ultimately depressing Abel Ferarra drama "The Funeral."

Kenny and Brandon discuss Christopher Walken's enjoyable, extended cameo as a centuries-old vampire who refuses to give in to his desire to feed on human blood the "The Addiction," directed by Abel Ferarra, who also worked with Walken on "King of New York." They didn't much enjoy the movie, unfortunately.
