Welcome to the audio podcast for Dogwood Church in Athens, TX.
Who were the people who walked with Jesus, talked with Jesus, learned from Jesus, and even touched Jesus? What impact do their stories have on our lives today? This week we look at answering these questions and more on the Second Sunday of Easter.
We live in a world full of brokenness, but it's not just "out there," it's in us. How could we live differently, how could we mend it? Pastor Chris Kipp teaches about "What Grace Does" from Acts 2:42-47 and Acts 4:32-35 which reveals a unique, beautiful community emerging from the gospel that was spreading like wildfire.
This week, Pastor Jerry continued in his series about the faith of Abraham and the faithfulness of God. Last week we learned about when God first called Abraham (then called Abram) and about his faith, fear and failure. This week, we read about Abraham and his nephew Lot, their turmoil and separation, and about God’s renewed promise to Abraham in Genesis chapter 13.
With the launch of house churches, Pastor Darren led us into the start of a new sermon series, Garden Church: Essentials for Kingdom Life. This series' intention is to go over our values as a church, and how these values are what we believe every Christian should embody at Garden Church. The first value is, a life shared with loving family. The church is a family founded on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that thrives together. Followers of Jesus are not meant to live in isolation, for life, reprove, and growth cannot happen in solidarity.
