Since being introduced to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in 2000, Laura has received CGS certification in Levels I, II, III and Infant-Toddler, an A.M.I. Assistants to Infancy Orientation certificate, and is additionally recognized as a CGS National Formation Leader for Levels I and II. A Montessori child herself, Laura is co-founder of John XXIII Montessori Center where she currently prays with children in the Level II, Level III and the Toddler Atrium. Laura and her husband have nine grown children and 20 grandchildren and continue to work on their farm in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. Besides a Masters in Educational Administration, she has a Masters in Elementary Education with Montessori Primary and a Masters in Theology. She is a CGS Level 1 and 2 formation Leader and pending Level 3. The Kingdom of God is diametrically different to the kingdoms of this world. The Kingdom runs on a completely different operating system, it is governed by different rules, laws and principles. Only through learning of those principles can one TRULY experience the kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven!

Ann tells us about this unique theologian, helps us explore the similarities in his work and those of Maria Montessori and Sofia Cavalletti as well as where we can see his influence in the work of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Ann Garrido has been a catechist of the Good Shepherd since 1996. She has served as a catechist and formation leader at all three levels. This life begins with the essential step of repentance, which isn't just a feeling of guilt, but a complete transformation of your heart and purpose. Ultimately, we are called to move beyond outward rituals and embrace the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit, choosing the path of the Kingdom to avoid the emptiness of a life lived apart from Him.

For the past two weeks, we've mentioned an upcoming study with Jeremy Walker. This week, we're pleased to announce that our new study with Dr. Stephen Yuille is now available. Dr. Yuille's study focuses on the longest recorded sermon of Jesus Christ—the Sermon on the Mount. In this episode, Dr. John Snyder asks Dr. Yuille about the personal impact this portion of Scripture has had on his life and why he chose to teach it. SUCCEEDING AT KINGDOM LIFE ABUNDANCE
What if the reason that you are not making progress is not a lack of effort? What if trying harder is reinforcing the very outcomes that you are trying to escape?It is not always a question of doing more. It may be a question of doing the same things from the same patterns and expecting to get different results.The issue is not about effort alone. Something within your own psychology is already shaping your outcomes.Scripture reminds us that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.Over time, the way you think begins to shape the way your life responds. What is repeated becomes familiar, and what becomes familiar begins to run automatically, even worse so, when it is no longer serving your best interests.For many, success is not random and failure is not accidental. Failure is actually the outworking of patterns that have gone unchallenged.But i want to announce to you that there is a higher way to function, in which your mindset, your gifts, your skills, your tools begin to work together in a multiplier effect, producing value and bountiful opportunities.It begins with understanding that you have two minds - yes, you do have two minds - and you must learn how to engage one to help you reset the other. One is called the manual mind, and the other is called the automated mind. You can actually automate success in every area of your life, if you understand your two minds.

It is the acknowledgement and homage given to God and a worship of thanksgiving. It is cooperation with the plan God pursues in history." Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 2062 “To teach morality, the catechist must be convinced that at its roots is love, and then proceed from that principle. Morality emerges from love. We must never wander far from this source, not even when we teach explicitly the Law, which shows us the way we must follow to reach God. The entire Law has been summarized by Jesus in the two commandments of love, and He has made love the badge of allegiance. ‘One cannot obey more than one loves,' wrote the prior of the Little Brothers of Jesus.” (Teaching Doctrine and Liturgy) “We can never stress too much the necessity of anchoring every moral teaching in a solid, kerygmatic orientation. Before providing specific instructions of what I am to do, moral formation must tell me with whom I do it, for whom I do it, with whom I am in relationship. Often we rush to action without having given enough thought to these primary questions.” (RPCII, 83) “The primary and fundamental attitude of the person educated in the moral life is the awareness of belonging: to belong to God, to belong to God's world, to belong to humanity.”- Father Mongillo Carolyn joins the conversation today to walk us through how morality evolves and progresses in a child's life and how we can meet those needs in all levels of the atria. Carolyn Kohlhaas is a nationally recognized Formation Leader for CGS at all three levels of formation. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology and in Religious Education from Franciscan University of Steubenville and her AMI Primary (3-6) and Elementary (6-12) Level Certifications from the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota. Carolyn has a Master of Education degree (Loyola College, Maryland) as well as a Master of Arts in Theology (St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity).
