Today I'm starting a new series on 1 Corinthians 13 (the love chapter) and it starts with patience. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 13:4, "Love is patient and kind…" Paul pairs these two attributes of love together because the complement one another. Patience isn't "just sticking it out" or begrudgingly tolerating someone or a situation. That's stubbornness. It's an intentional action paired with kindness. It's not enough to grit your teeth and get through a bad situation. That's not love. Being kind and not getting angry are just as important in a trying situation as accepting the situation you're in. How Can We Apply This to Pickleball? Patience is key when playing pickleball. Kindness is equally as important. Pickleball News If you haven't heard already, Andre Agassi is making his pickleball pro debut at the Minto US Open Pickleball Championships and will will partner up with Anna Leigh Waters. When asked about partnering with ALW he said, "[T]he idea of challenging myself to not screw things up for her is daunting.” Pickleball Tip Jordan Briones from Briones pickleball provides this week's tip. In this video where he talks about coaching Augie Ge, Jordan says being aware that something needs to change is important for improving at pickleball. Closing Remarks Next week we'll cover the how love and kindness go together so make sure you're following the podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify so you don't miss the episode. Love is Patient and so are you guys for waiting forever for these episodes to drop. Also this is in two parts because my laptop is on its last legs. I don't know if you know this but Christine is Getting Married. I start the episode dumping all my medical trauma. Mykelti tries to steal the spotlight multiple times. Kody has FOMO and Robyn "wishes them well". Tony tries to produce. Honestly the most exciting part of this episode was watching some of the relationship dynamics watching Kody go full on squirrel and cut down a tree. Stay tuned for part 2 for a very personal wedding story and being happy for Christine's happy ending. Follow on all the socials @fluentinbravo and join our private Facebook group "fluent in bravo"
Pastor Ray Bentley says real friendship loves even when it's inconvenient. Human nature is when people are going through really rough times. Then we'll call them for a while. We'll visit them for a while. Let them get through this rough patch, and then we'll hook up and have great times later. Someone as well said that the definition of a friend is that the one who walks in the door at the very same day that everyone else walked out the door
The gospel can change lives. But today, pastor Ray Bentley says we need to let the gospel remain unedited. There is a version of Christianity that's very popular. It brings people together. It's very uniting. But the cross part of it is often, in one way or another, either diluted or sought to be removed. Paul said then, and I believe it's still true today.

The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. This week, Ps Dan and Ashari McGaw kick off our new series as they speak on the importance of relationships to our lives. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
Relationships are hard. In today's me-first world of instant gratification, cancel culture and no-fault divorce, it seems almost impossible to find a true love. Friendships fracture, families fight and romances fizzle. Is finding a love that lasts simply a figment of the imagination that is found is fairytales? Could it be that love is being looked for in the wrong places? Rather than looking outward to others for a love that endures, we need to learn to live out a love that lasts. In 1 Corinthians 13:4, one simple yet profound verse, the Apostle Paul gives four clear personal actions that create a lastong love.

What Matters Most | Week 1: Love is Patient and Kind // Ryland Walter // Life is all about love. Through this series, our church will be shaped by a developed picture of what love is and is not through scripture (1 Corinthians 13). Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. That's why we're given a lifetime to learn what matters most.
Love is... patient Love is... Pastor Danny Unterkofler
Were the Beatles right when they sang, ‘All You Need Is Love'? ‘It's easy', they crooned. We would all likely agree that love is not as easy as the song claims. Yet they were getting at the truth that the bible reached a long time before Lennon and McCartney wrote that song. It all boils down to love. Love God and love each other. Jesus promised, “By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35. Yet in our increasingly divided world, what is most important often seems to be the most lacking. How well will we love as a nation-wide election is upon us? How distinct will our love be as our culture tries to force us to redefine it? Will people know we belong to Jesus by the way we love each other in our church? Come along with us as we sit at the feet of 1 Corinthians 13 and look closely at a diamond called Love with all its brilliant, flawless facets. What we will see is the character of Jesus reflecting back to us. Our aim is to discover what Love Is and how we can have the power to live it out.
When Americans think of a long nose, we typically think of Pinocchio and his lying. But the Bible speaks of a different kind of long nose. The Bible tells us that God is "slow to anger"--literally, "long of nose." In other words, God is very patient because God is love. We see that loving patience of God most supremely in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of impatient sinners. Through the grace of the Holy Spirit we, too, can grow in love by becoming a more patient people to those around us.Support the show

I've heard you mention that when a christian prays, he's seeking nuptial union with Christ. How can we position our hearts to lean more into this? What would be the fruit of this union? Love is patient, love is kind
In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul describes LOVE with 15 verbs. Some are positive and others are negative. Today we will look at his first descriptor; Love is patient. In a culture where we are conditioned to be hurried, frantic, and anxious about life, love beckons us to a new dimension that is outside of the space time continuum. A place of peace and presence. Love is never rushed. Love is never late. Love is present with us always.

Love is not just a word. It must become a way. It's not just a feeling, rather, it needs to be a habitual behavior. In a world bent on outrage and reactivity, practice love by being patient with others when they fall short. After all, it's how God loves you.

6th meditation from the women's retreat at Maryville.
Before the love of God is anything; the love of God love is patient. We've all received radical patience from the God who is love. When we experience and acknowledge God's loving patience with us and extend it to others we are changed and we become change agents. But when we receive God's loving patience and refuse to extend it to others, we become hardened, isolated and imprisoned by our judgements.
