With all the talk about Crimson Jack in Skeleton Crew we felt this was a perfect time to share another Classic Marvel Star Wars Comics episode! Issue #108 “Forever Crimson!” (2019), is a special continuation of Issue #50 “The Crimson Forever” (1981). This was part of Marvel's 80th Anniversary celebration in 2019 where they added this issue 33 years after the classic Star Wars series ended in 1986.    Richard and Sarah break down “Forever Crimson!” - it's story, artwork, and the HUGE amount of Star Wars EU Easter eggs! Jaxxon and Amaiza are back! Valance the Hunter and Domina Tagge make an appearance. This comic even references vornskr and the witches of Dathomir. Could there be more references to pop culture in this comic than SKELETON CREW?? Let's find out.   We recommend watching the video version (above) of this episode which contains the full comic as we page through it.   #108 “FOREVER CRIMSON"   Release Date: May 29, 2019 Writer: Matthew Rosenberg Artwork: Giuseppe Camuncoli, Andrea Broccardo, Kerry Gammill, Ze Carlos, Jan Duursema, Stefano Landini, Luke Ross, Cam Smith, Chris Sotomayer, and Leonard Kirk Cover Art:  Walt Simonson and Antonio Fabela   The cosmic civil war is over! The Empire has fallen. The tyrannical Dark Lords of the Sith who ruled the galaxy, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, are destroyed, and the heroic Rebel Alliance has restored freedom to the star systems with the formation of the New Republic.   But a long-forgotten threat, one more terrible than even the Sith, is still out there in the wilds of deep space, and its return could annihilate all life in the galaxy! Once again, only the freedom fighters Princess Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo can hope to stand against the forces of evil. This is their story!   We take our Facebook Group Comments on the cover into account as we analyze this issue. We're building the bridges when it comes to Star Wars movies, comics and books, too, speaking with writer Cavan Scott and delving deep into a new story arc in Marvel's superb Poe Dameron series. From The Force Awakens to The Last Jedi in Poe Dameron #26 to news that Star Wars will begin to cross from A New Hope to The Empire Strikes Back starting with issue #50, there's no chasm deep enough to preclude our -- and your -- crossing.Speaking of crossing vast gulfs, writer Cavan Scott joins us for a chat about why he strived, successfully, to bring Jaxxon and Amaiza back into canon, too.Like you, he's a fan of the Star Wars Saga and is among those now contributing to it through his novels (Choose Your Destiny: Han and Chewie Adventure and four volumes of Adventures in Wild Space, including The Escape, The Snare, The Steal and The Cold) as well as comics (Star Wars Adventures) and, we hope, much more to come in the next few months.Looking ahead? We're excited about what Poe Dameron and Darth Vader scribe Charles Soule told Dan Zehr for a dispatch at StarWars.com and we're beyond stoked about that July's Star Wars comics from Marvel and IDW Publishing hold for the future (Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, y'all!).The new Star Wars comics out this week include:Darth Vader #15Doctor Aphra #19Star Wars Adventures 2018 AnnualStay in touch and up to date by following us on Twitter and Facebook.Like what you hear? #BlowItOutYerRetros! Quite possibly our favorite line from our favorite green bunny, Jaxxon, in this Classic Marvel Star Wars comic! Richard, Sarah and Star Wars artist Randy Martinez tackle this Classic comic, as well as share some thoughts on The Last Jedi. There are some surprising similarities between this comic and the latest film.   Show Notes: Title: "THE HUNTER" Release Date: June 27, 1978 Writer: Archie Goodwin Artwork: Walt Simonson, Bob Wiacek Coloring: Bob Sharen Cover Art: Walt Simonson Synopsis: This issue begins a brand new arc as Valance, the Hunter, destroys the medical station on Telos-4. When he and his crew of mercenaries hear a patient talking about Han Solo, the boy, and the droids, Valance jumps to conclusions thinking this must be Luke Skywalker! Since there is a big reward for the capture of Luke and Han, Valance follows old favorites Jaxxon and Amaiza to Aduba-3. How hard will it be to take down a couple of second rate bounty hunters and a few farmers in order to apprehend his prey? Valance is in for a big surprise!
