Ramesses goes back to school. Luxor Temple is a magnificent monument, in a city full of them. The sanctuary you visit today is, in large part, the work of Ramesses' early reign. New pylons, colossal statues, obelisks, and dedicatory texts provide the testament to the young pharaoh's work. Exploring these, we also get a surprising insight into temple archives and educational facilities, embodied in the Per-Ankh / House of Life... We are playing a game by creating mini-marathons of movies featuring Star Wars actors in their non-Star Wars roles. With a lack of Star Wars news as of the time of the recording, we decide to try something new. Many Star Wars actors are known for roles outside of their performances in Star Wars. Other actors famous for their roles in Star Wars don't have as extensive a career. In this game, we are challenging ourselves to create mini-movie marathons by pulling three actors' names out of the proverbial hat and then picking one other movie each of those actors have appeared in. Some of the picks (we're looking at you Harrison Ford) resulted in easy choices. Other picks (hello, Joel Edgerton) are a bit more challenging. So, what do you think of our picks? Would you have picked different movies? Download or stream this episode and then let us know what you would have done by reaching out at one of our social media contacts listed below. PERRIN FERTHA and VEL SARTHA, two characters with tragic relationships. One built on the cultural tradition of an arranged marriage, the other built on rebellion and love. Perrin and Mon. Vel and Cinta. Two relationships broken, by the Rebellion in completely different ways.Perrin is a hedonist, whose characterization in Season 1 made him seem antagonistic and loveless towards Mon. During Season 2 that perception has shifted to something more nuanced, and thanks to revelations of a deleted scene, our impression of Perrin might be more complicated.Vel is a warrior, like Cinta. Both are committed to the cause and torn apart by it. A relationship strongly implied in Season 1 was finally sealed with a kiss in Season 2 with Lucasfilm finally deciding to "say gay". As soon as we had this lovers return, Cinta was taken from us by a stray blaster bolt from a foolish boy.Today we take a deep dive into these two characters and their arcs during Andor S2. Zo takes a vacation in the Big Apple fully intending on visiting the Statue of Liberty. Even though the statue was being renovated it was still open to visitors and Zo noticed some crazy shenanigans outside the statue. It seems that one of the tourists is on the outside and jumping around the massive and complex scaffolding that had been erected around the statue. It seems as though this crazy fellow is being pursued by the construction crews. The strength and balance that the man has to jump around the scaffolding is amazing, not even the construction workers seem as skilled. This whole situation is incredibly peculiar, but it's just another day in New York one might guess. This classic comic strip was a staple of the 80's and spotlighted important political and social issues while selling stuffed penguins. Jay joined in the fun of so many Star Wars fans when he experienced Andor season 2. The storytelling is award-worthy, the performances were sensational, and it will go down as one of the best Star Wars tales of all time. And of course you should follow it up with Andor season three, also known as Rogue One. Sci-Fi Saturdays This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay is filled with Dredd. Judge Dredd that is. Andor S2 is over, but not for us! We continue to celebrate this monumental series as we delve into topics or characters we didn't have enough time to discuss during our regular coverage. Today we discuss everyone's favorite anarcho-rebel, SAW GERRERA, and the unsung hero: the ISB double-agent, LONNI JUNG.In a field full of heroes, these two stand out for their unconventional approaches to rebellion. While Saw's bombastic and "chaotic" approach to his fight of the Empire drew enemies within allies, Lonni's quiet and ultimately quiet contributions to the Alliance cannot be overstated. Along with Nemik's call to rebellion through his manifesto, these two characters' sacrifice will always be remembered!• • •Triad of the Force is a channel which was featured on the Podcast Stage at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and 2023, featuring Nani and Gus, lifelong Puerto Rican friends who after years of discussing the media they love, came together and created their show. Zo wants to go on an adventure in the Australian Outback, but in order to do it he'll need a guide. As a man of the urban spaces and city living he would consider it unwise in the least and ultimately a death wish to go about trooping into the wilds of Australia without a proper guide. Indeed, he's found one. A man whom the locals call "Mick". A man that Zo found to be charismatic, fun-loving, thrill seeking, and boisterous. This is a man who's more comfortable in the open wilderness then he ever would be within the four walls of civilized living. A charming fellow who introduces himself as Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee.
