Skywalking Through Neverland: A Star Wars / Disney Fan Podcast
With all the talk about Crimson Jack in Skeleton Crew we felt this was a perfect time to share another Classic Marvel Star Wars Comics episode! Issue #108 “Forever Crimson!” (2019), is a special continuation of Issue #50 “The Crimson Forever” (1981). This was part of Marvel's 80th Anniversary celebration in 2019 where they added this issue 33 years after the classic Star Wars series ended in 1986. Richard and Sarah break down “Forever Crimson!” - it's story, artwork, and the HUGE amount of Star Wars EU Easter eggs! Jaxxon and Amaiza are back! Valance the Hunter and Domina Tagge make an appearance. This comic even references vornskr and the witches of Dathomir. Could there be more references to pop culture in this comic than SKELETON CREW?? Let's find out. We recommend watching the video version (above) of this episode which contains the full comic as we page through it. #108 “FOREVER CRIMSON" Release Date: May 29, 2019 Writer: Matthew Rosenberg Artwork: Giuseppe Camuncoli, Andrea Broccardo, Kerry Gammill, Ze Carlos, Jan Duursema, Stefano Landini, Luke Ross, Cam Smith, Chris Sotomayer, and Leonard Kirk Cover Art: Walt Simonson and Antonio Fabela The cosmic civil war is over! The Empire has fallen. The tyrannical Dark Lords of the Sith who ruled the galaxy, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, are destroyed, and the heroic Rebel Alliance has restored freedom to the star systems with the formation of the New Republic. But a long-forgotten threat, one more terrible than even the Sith, is still out there in the wilds of deep space, and its return could annihilate all life in the galaxy! Once again, only the freedom fighters Princess Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo can hope to stand against the forces of evil. This is their story! Joe and Mike take a look at a fascinating character study of one of Star Wars' most important characters: Grand Admiral Thrawn! In Jody Houser and Luke Ross' adaptation of the novel by Timothy Zahn, there's a unique challenge: condensing a novel into comic book format! Joe practices his best Lars Mikkelson impression, while Mike has a million questions about the Empire and its inner workings, just like Thrawn! Join us for a closer look at this fascinating character!

VADER CONFRONTS PADMÉ'S HANDMAIDENS BUT WILL THEY JOIN HIM OR REBEL? For ep 142, Mike continues with the 2020 run of Darth Vader comics, with another story surrounding Sabé & Dormé caught in the web of Vader, as they try to save innocents while fighting against Jul Tambor. As Vader's web entangles the other handmaidens too causing them to ask themselves what they're willing to sacrifice in order to save lives and if Sabé is truly working for the Dark Lord… Darth Vader 30-32 were all written by Greg Pak, with colour artist Federico Blee. Luke Ross was artist on issue 30 while Ibraim Roberson was artist on issues 31 & 32. Issue 30 was released January 11th 2023, issue 32 was released March 22nd 2023 and the trade paperback collection was released 27th June 2023. For a refresher, go to ep 119 of SWCIC, where Mike delved into issues 24-29 of the Darth Vader comics! Mike recently spoke with Ethan Sacks (author of Bounty Hunters, Galaxy's Edge & more Star Wars comics) on ep 213 of Genuine Chit-Chat and has recorded an episode with Shadow of the Sith author Adam Christopher, so look out for that too! In the last episode, Mike explains BEFORE AHSOKA, HOW DID ANAKIN, OBI-WAN AND PLO-KOON DEAL WITH CLONES? For ep 141, Mike delves into the IDW Publishing mini-series; Clone Wars Battle Tales – stories all set before the Clone Wars movie but after Attack Of The Clones, showing 6 missions the clones have been on with Jedi generals Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Plo-Koon. Amidst these stories, Mike provides additional info on several clones Ovissians, Plo-Koon, flying droids and more – this serves as a brilliant prequel to The Clone Wars movie and you don't need to have seen any of The Clone Wars to enjoy! After months of hype, the Dark Droids crossover event kicks off with a remarkly well-paced and genuinely disturbing (it's a compliment) Dark Droids #1 by Charle Soule, Luke Ross, Alex Sinclair and VC's Travis Lanham. It's a robust start to the five-month event.Hyperspace Stories #7 by Michael Moreci, Andrea Mutti, Gigi Baldassini, Vallerio Alloro and Comicraft's Tyler Smith and Jimmy Betancourt features the series' totem and gives readers a look at a Boba Fett in the process of maturing. Yoda #10 concludes the maxi-series in an exhilarating conclusion that offers up a few cross-media surprises (TV and books!) in a coda by Cavan Scott, Ibraim Roberson, Neeraj Menon and VC's Joe Caramagna for the long-lived Jedi master who's borne a heavy burden since enabling the Galactic Republic's descent into dictatorship and the destruction of the order he was so dedicated to.Comics Discussed This Week:Hyperspace Stories #7 (08:23))Dark Droids #1 (18:08)Yoda #10 (41:17)Star Wars Comics New to Marvel Unlimited This Week:Darth Vader: Black, White & Red #1 (of 4)News: New Printings for Star Wars Legends Epic Collections Rise of the Sith (Vol. 1), The Empire (Vol. 1), The New Republic (Vol. 1) and The Old Republic (Vol. 1) are due in 2024The third and final TPB of Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories from Dark Horse Comics will collect issues 9-12 and is due out, per the publisher, on April 17. Newsmaker Ep. 2126 Luke Ross, Franklin Wellness Center (7/17/23) by Radio on the Go
WHAT DID YODA DO BEFORE THE HIGH REPUBLIC AND HOW WAS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH DOOKU BEFORE THE PHANTOM MENACE? For ep 131, Mike delves the first 6 issues, which contain 2 story arcs; the first set during the High Republic era where he goes to the planet Turrak to help Scalvi natives, while the second is set before The Phantom Menace, where Yoda asks Dooku to help train some initiates, but when a Wookiee has a vision about a Trandoshian initiate, tensions rise, especially with Yoda & Dooku's conflicting views on such matters. Mike gives information on Dooku, Dagobah, Coruscant and more! Yoda 1 was released Nov 23rd 2022, issue 6 was released April 19th 2023 and the trade paperback collection is due for release late 2023. Yoda issues 1-3 were written by Cavan Scott, with Nico Leon as artist and Dono Sanchéz-Almara as colour artist. Issues 4-6 were written by Jody Houser with artist Luke Ross and Nolan Woodard as colour artist. For more Yoda content, check out ep 33 of SWCIC for the Yoda's Secret War arc, or check ep 47 for a short story of Yoda on Dagobah. You can also check ep 86 to hear why Yoda isn't present for most of phase 1 of The High Republic. For the Age Of Resistance story where Kylo Ren goes to the dark side cave on Dagobah, check ep 52 and to hear more about Dooku's backstory, check episode 26. Previously was another High Republic book review, with Lydia Kang's Cataclysm from Phase 2, Wave 2 where tensions raise even higher with E'ronoh & Eiram, while Axel Greylark is in prison! In this sequel to Convergence, the tensions between E'ronoh & Eiram worsen as The Path Of The Open Hand become more aggressive, all while Axel Greylark is imprisoned, leading to the devastating Night Of Sorrow – Mike provides his spoiler-free thoughts, before providing plot and character information! More Content: 2 episodes of Mike, Maff & Dave's show; Rebels Reviewed is out now, so listen to their thoughts on seasons 1 & 2 (as we get nearer to the Ahsoka series) on any podcast app or watch on YouTube: https://pod.fo/e/186b55 - https://youtu.be/Kk99oyK06ho Mike was the judge on a recent Comics On Trial where Tony Farina & Scott Weatherly each give their stance on whether or not Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull deserves to be held in the same regard as the original trilogy, listen or watch here: https://pod.fo/e/187e09 - https://youtu.be/8bPSFoOJ4yc To support Mike, you can rate/review the show, you can share the show or support financially. After a long wait, Dark Horse Comics's The High Republic Adventures: The Nameless Terror #2 (of 4) returns, and what transpires is a wonderful melange of Alien, Star Wars and cosmic horror as our High Republic-era Jedi deal with nasties that go knock in the night (and day). It's a long issues, at 34 pages, and captures a perfect balance between suspense, cosmic horror and space fantasy.Marvel's Sana Starros #3 (of 5) is a splendid bridging issue that pitches the Starros family's quest into high gear, while at the same time paying homage to the sights and sounds and events of the first phase of The High Republic era, too. Come for Sana's outrage, stay for Deva Lompop's machinations and revel in the reveal of Phel's less-than-honorable intentions. Finally, Jody Houser's three-issue arc, accompanied by artist Luke Ross, comes to a well-paced conclusion in the pages of Yoda #6 (of 10), and readers are afforded a side of Yoda who is well aware of the dark side and its insidiousness, while acknowledging that the light side cannot exist without it. At last, The High Republic -- The Nameless Terror #1 (of 4) is in comic shops. Was it worth the wait?Yes, very much so.Will it be difficult to wait almost two months until issue #2 is released?Yes, if #1 is anything to go by, since George Mann, Eduardo Mello, Ornella Savarese, Studio RAM, Matt Dryer, Sanjay Dharawat, Stephen Reichert and Samantha Hummer have delivered a crackling debut issue that ties into The High Republic mythology with ease while creating an aura of suspense. In Yoda #4 (of 10), writer Jody Houser returns to the galaxy a long time ago, reteaming with artist Luke Ross for a three-issue arc that features Yoda in a story set before the Prequel Trilogy and featuring Jedi Master Dooku. THey're joined by color artist Nolan Woodard and letter Joe Caramagna of Virtual Caligraphy. It's a well-paced start that gives us more elements of the Count before his faith in the Jedi was lost and features a trio of young Padawans -- a togorian, wookiee and trandoshan -- that echoes Dooku's own relationship with SIfo-Dyas. Astute readers will recognize a key event in this issue from the pages of Age of Republic: Count Dooku #1. That issue has more emotional heft now. Finally, in Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2) #29, Aphra finds herself in an unusual spot: Completely oblvious to the Spark's dire plans. The story by Alyssa Wong, artist Natacha Bustos, color artist Rachelle Rosenberg and letter Joe Caramagna, blends long-ago history with the effort by Chelli's friends to come to her rescue in a brisk story.

Therefore, it is crucial that we keep informed of what occurs. 12:01 – Kipp notes that while there are numerous distinct evolutionary programs, the owner's program's flagship is actually centered upon four planes. It is your strategy, as well as your life plan, and it is your personal and business legacy plan. Therefore, your life plan is "What are your one-year goals? What do you want, exactly, since it's only a one-year team goal?” 14:57 – Brian claims that Derek's clip is a fantastic episode since it will be the clip we share with you after you have listened to a journey. 15:40 – Derek shares his journey. He started looking for work but was turned down because of his lack of qualifications. He had applied to work as an installer, was using a headhunter, and had once been interviewed at Sprint for a position that sounded absolutely awful: database administrator for reporting, and creating reports for executives. But in the end, wanting a job with the least amount of responsibility. 19:24 – Robb claims that Vince's clip is his favorite episode because it was about how he felt about an anchor and how to deal with anchor network problems, and since Vince is a peer group facilitator and had so many smart things to say. 24:15 – Tim thinks that too many individuals do things well and likes the idea of not placing a lot of emphasis on the income standpoint. They place a lot of emphasis on the revenue generated by each client. You should be evaluated to determine if these are the proper people for you and if they are real. 24:36 – Brian said there are a lot of other variables you can consider besides just pure income and when you start growing to the level where you are at. He always looks at those plans to make sure they aren't overlooking those clients in the middle of the stack. That is also prepared for ascent. 27:27 – According to Rob Rae, it is simple to predict that, at some point, any organization, regardless of location or size, will find that having in-house IT personnel is no longer necessary. This may be the case in order to protect internal infrastructure, but as far as anything that is coming from the outside, things are moving too quickly. 34:50 – Robb's query is answered by John. It's always preferable to attempt and change a connection or get it moving in the proper manner when you're in that position. This is why we always give 110% effort to say when we're in that position. 40:30 – Abe states that there is so much competition that he has a merger of equal platforms that will be completed soon and he increasingly sees a competitive advantage to call potential clients and informing them that he has sixty-five nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) from all of these buyers for this assignment, which will encourage serious bids from prospective buyers. 45:56 – Brian thanks all of the listeners for their support as he wraps up the podcast.

The UFC is taking one last week off before getting into the swing of their 2022 schedule, so the MMA Depressed us is taking the opportunity to dive back into one of their favorite holiday traditions. That's right, we're watching yet another Randy Couture film. Promising the badass thrills of Michael Jai White as 'Payne', alongside the wall-n-maul prowess of one of the UFC's most legendary champs, Randy Couture as 'Toro', who could say no to the March 5, 2019 action blockbuster ‘The Hard Way'— co-starring former Brit pop-rocker, from the band Bros (pronounced ‘bross'), Luke Ross? playing 'Mason'. Along with the lovely Madalina Anea playing 'Lacy Love'... We certainly couldn't. For all interested in watching along with us, ‘The Hard Way' is available on a number of platforms, including Netflix. But more importantly, there's also a copy hanging out free on YouTube. As always, we're starting at the beginning of the video. So, anyone following along just needs to hit play when Zane says “go”. A brief synopsis of the film states: "After learning his brother died on a mission in Romania, a former soldier teams up with two allies to hunt down a mysterious enemy and exact revenge." Directed by: Keoni Waxman, Written by: Thomas J. Churchill & Keoni Waxman. Filmed in: Bucharest, Romania. Produced by: Actionhouse Pictures - Hollywood Media Bridge. The film had an estimated $3.5 Million budget. Run time: 1 hour, 34 minutes. Not to be confused with the other 'The Hard Way' film starring Michael J. Fox & James Woods released during that same year. Throughout the 2021-2022 holiday UFC break we will continue to bring you podcast content every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday minimum, more days if we can. Watch for shows like ‘Crooklyn's Corner', ‘Show Money', more from ‘The MMA Depressed-us', ‘6th Round Retro', maybe even a guest podcast episode or two of ‘The Eugene S. Robinson Show Stomper!' — among others! On behalf of all of our crew on the entire Bloody Elbow Presents Podcast Network Team, have a safe and happy Holiday Season & be sure to stay tuned!
