This week we present two stories from people who found an intersection between numbers and their sex life. Part 1: When online dating isn't working out for him, Tristan Attwood decides to analyze the data himself. Part 2: In search of a deal, Gastor Almonte ends up with an unmanageable number of condoms. Tristan Attwood works as a business analyst for the airline industry. Originally from the Portland, Oregon, area, Tristan relocated to DC more than a decade ago after serving as a field organizer for a Senate campaign. Having been "unschooled" as a child, Tristan attended Linfield College in Oregon in the early 2000s but did not technically receive a high school diploma until getting his GED from the District of Columbia in 2015. He spends his free time renovating his DC townhouse, playing dungeons and dragons, and apologizing for the airline industry. He resides in DC with his wife, Jessica, and newborn baby Roland Tiberius. Gastor Almonte is a stand-up comedian and storyteller from Brooklyn, NY. He's appeared on Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening, Risk! podcast and the Story Collider Podcast. Timeout magazine named him one of your "New Comedy Obsessions." He's been featured on the New York Comedy Festival, The People's Impov Theater's SoloCom and Cinderblock Comedy Festival. His new album, Immigrant Made, was released in March 2019. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Wassup radiant world! I'm super stoked to share this episode of Barbarian Noetics with y'all, featuring comedian, podcaster and reluctant mystic Jessa Reed. Jessa burst on the comedy scene with her hilarious and harrowing story "Meth Pee" on Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening. She has a fantastic solo podcast called Soberish, as well as one she co-stars with Aaron Woodall called The Mormon and the Meth Head. Both shows are funny, insightful and inspiring, and manage to strike that elusive balance between lightheartedness and profundity. You can find both these podcasts as well as Jessa's tour dates on www.jessareed.com. You can also find Jessa on Instagram @ jessareedcomedy. We chat about Jessa's near-death experience, her communication with helpful aliens, dealing decisively with personal and societal parasites, quantum entanglement, deciphering the energetic lattice-work that serves as template for our reality, and much more. So: jump in and enjoy! If you dig this podcast, please rate, review and subscribe wherever you listen to pods. And while you're at it, give Jessa's pods those happy little 5 stars too. Meet Eric Abrams. Eric is an experienced writer, producer and showrunner, including executive producing Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening. His calm and laid back California attitude gives off an energy of trust and grounding. In this episode, we talked about finding a work/life balance, expressing emotional honesty and leaning into my fears. About The Show: LA is a city of 4 million spread over 503 miles, 114 neighborhoods and can take over an hour to get from one side to the other. With that many people bumping up against each other, how is it possible to feel alone and isolated. It's a city of paradox: dreams and heartbreak. Lifelong locals and those just coming in for a shot. Each week, I sit down with a Los Angeles resident to connect. Talk about our live and what got us to where we are today. Talking. What does it mean for two people to get to know each other? It's also a show about connection in the larger sense, because each guest introduces me to the following week's guest. And as the weeks progress, it'll filter up a chain of people who can all be linked back to each other through who they know. That person we pass in the street, get behind at the grocery store, sit next to at the bar. They are all more connected to us than we may realize at first glance. A couple handshakes away...or, for the bold, maybe just one. I'm Ana Fernatt and I don't know anyone in LA. But...now I know you. After Rob fills us in on his Record Store Day adventures and John let's us know about this year's Hell's Heroes Festival, the boys just go with the flow. Said flow leads to TV updates, dressing up (or down), Comedy Central's "This Is Not Happening" and they wonder, what part(s) of a song do you focus on. All that, and as usual, more...... Enjoy!!

GUEST: JESSA REED. For some reason, elevator etiquette becomes a hot button issue on this show, as we explore the phobias that we didn't even know we all shared. Also, Greg is sweaty and awkward in them. Then we are joined by Jessa Reed! Jessa is incredibly funny, has two shows in the Portland area and then will be appearing on Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening!

The latest episode of the Talkhouse Film podcast is a conversation between Ari Shaffir, stand-up comedian and host of Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening, and one of the most recent guests on that show, Artie Lange, best known for The Howard Stern Show and MADtv. In a funny, provocative talk, the two share war stories about their lives as comics, such as Shaffir eating "tarnished" baked goods and receiving death threats for his videos, and Artie doing time in L.A. County Jail, working as a Santa in a strip club, and having a very memorable encounter with Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra.
