Sometimes one-liners stick with you. I still remember a simple, almost off-hand comment a speaker made over 40 years ago: "It's hard not to get along with a humble person."I've had my share of conflicts through the years, and when I do, I try to step back and ask if the point of conflict is legitimate or if I'm just being proud.Join me for today's Daily Word & Prayer to learn more.Scripture Used in Today's MessageProverb 13:10Matthew 5:91 Peter 3:10-11If you've not read my book, Takin' it to Their Turf. request a copy on my website, www.CampusAmerica.com.You'll be inspired, encouraged, and learn plenty about evangelism and spiritual warfare through the 70+ stories I share of my campus evangelism experiences. We send a copy to anyone who donates to our ministry, but if you can't do so, simply request a copy by sending us an email. In this episode of The Adam Carolla Show, comedian Nate Jackson joins Adam in studio! They kick things off talking about Nate's stand up shows at the iconic Wiltern Theater and dive into how different comics attract different kinds of crowds. Adam reflects on his own upbringing on food stamps and responds to an NPR piece about a mother relying on SNAP benefits as the program faces cuts. Vibing Well with Dr. Stacy (A Functional Medicine Approach to Healing)
In today's episode, I discuss how added sugar and refined/processed foods (yes, even organic, dairy-free, and gluten-free processed foods are STILL processed and refined), still unrecognizable to the mitochondria, still void of nutrients that our gut microbime needs (like fiber!), and also causing MORE inflammation and mitochondria dysfucntion which contirbutes to all METABOLIC diseases including:StokeCVD/Heart Disease/AtherosclerosisKidney DiseaseLiver Disease and Failure, NAFLD, CirrhosisDiabetesDementiaExcess Growth/CancerHyperlipedimia/ObesityWhat they all have in common is that they are METABOLIC in nature, meaning you have to begin to look at what is happening in the LIVER and in the CELLS in order to prevent them. There is NO way we can move forward along our healing journey if we are poisoning our cells with sugar, and in the episode, I delve into the HOW and the WHY sugar does things like wreck our metabolism and mitochondria, how it causes the liver to become fat, which sets the scene for chroinc inflammation, insulin resistance, a lack of ATP (energy), and with that, mitochondira dysfunction.I also talk about how our children are targeted in this mess, how we need to understand the limits in which their bodies can metbaolize (as far as sugar goes), how metablic issues manifest in children, and then of course - how we start supporting these thgins in our own homes (starting with what we bring into the house and what we accept as our normal when it comes to fueling our bodies.) The Author Events Series presents Elie Mystal | Bad Law: Ten Popular Laws That Are Ruining America REGISTER In Conversation with Cherri Gregg In Bad Law, the New York Times bestselling author of Allow Me To Retort: A Black Guy's Guide to the Constitution brings his trademark legal acumen and passionate snark to a brilliant takedown of ten of what he considers the most egregiously awful laws on the books today. These are pieces of legislation that are making life worse rather than better for Americans, and that, he argues with trenchant wit and biting humor, should be repealed completely. On topics ranging from abortion and immigration to voting rights and religious freedom, we have chosen rules to live by that do not reflect the will of most of the people. With respect to our decision to make a law that effectively grants immunity to gun manufacturers, for example, Mystal writes, ''We live in the most violent, wealthy country on earth not in spite of the law; we live in a first-person-shooter video game because of the law.'' But, as the man Samantha Bee calls ''irrepressible and righteously indignant'' and Matt Levine of Bloomberg Opinion calls ''the funniest lawyer in America,'' points out, these laws do not come to us from on high; we write them, and we can and should unwrite them. In a marvelous and original takedown spanning all the hot-button topics in the country today, one of our most brilliant legal thinkers points the way to a saner tomorrow most brilliant legal thinkers points the way to a saner tomorrow. Gary Vaynerchuk (CEO, VaynerMedia) joins Chris Cuomo for a raw conversation about why young Americans are struggling despite having more opportunities than ever. Gary V argues that overprotective parenting, participation trophies, and a lack of accountability have created a generation that expects success without work—while parents use their children's achievements for their own self-esteem. The discussion tackles the hard truths about why 22-year-olds are moving back home, why kids are protesting causes they don't understand, and how America has become addicted to blame instead of personal responsibility. Vaynerchuk shares his immigrant perspective on merit, consequences, and why he believes the real pandemic isn't COVID—it's the death of accountability. From parents wanting to attend job interviews to the weaponization of fear in politics, this conversation exposes uncomfortable realities about modern American culture. In this episode of the Sex with Emily podcast, Dr. Emily debunks five pervasive sex myths that may be holding you back from experiencing your best intimate life. From the "body count" obsession to orgasm pressure, we explore why these common beliefs are not only wrong but potentially harmful to your sexual confidence and relationships. We dive deep into why the number of sexual partners doesn't determine your skill as a lover, the truth about natural lubrication and arousal, and how focusing solely on orgasms can actually prevent you from having them. Dr. Emily also addresses vibrator myths, explaining why sex toys enhance rather than replace intimacy, and breaks down outdated beliefs about anal play that keep people from exploring new dimensions of pleasure.
