It's been a rather interesting year for Final Fantasy with some definite highs and lows, so to round-out the year, we thought it would be rather appropriate to pick-out some key moments! Yes, that means we'll be talking about Final Fantasy XV's DLC, the launch of Dissidia NT and the interesting announcements that were thrown our way during TGS 2018! On top of that, there's also a little recap about our lives outside of Final Fantasy! Thank you all so much for your support throughout another year and here's to 2019!
Just when things seemed to be going swimmingly for Square Enix, bad news strikes: Not only has most of Final Fantasy XV's DLC been cancelled, but the game's director -- one of their most vital employees -- has left the company. Combined with a $33 million loss over the past six months, the famous Japanese publisher may not be in fighting shape. We discuss. Plus: Red Dead Redemption 2 keeps selling huge, Activision is disappointed with Destiny 2's performance, Supermassive Games is still in the PlayStation exclusive fold, and Colin wonders aloud if he's going senile. Oh, and should Twisted Metal go Battle Royale? That's just one of the many listener questions we answer, too. So come one, come all! Let's get nerdy. Learn more about your ad choices. The usual Emmett Watkins Jr and Allan Muir are returning with fellow Los Harrow contributors Lou Gonzalez and Graydon Webb. In this extra long episode, we're talking about our impressions with a bunch of games this week. After over two hours of our impressions, we finally get to the news of the last week. The cancelation of Final Fantasy XV's DLC, the disappointment of Destiny 2 by shareholders, and all of the biggest news from Microsoft's XO2018 event. If there's anything we repeatedly reference on Derailed Trains of Thought (and there's plenty), Star Wars and Final Fantasy are certainly in the Top 10. So, in today's Side Track we bring you lost recordings on both unearthed for the public--first, Tim and Nick's annual discussion of a new Star Wars movie (The Last Jedi, now available on Blu Ray...so, better late than never?), and then Tim's thoughts on Final Fantasy XV's DLC content. Whether you are as into droids and Chocobos as much as we are or just miss hearing our lovely voices, join us for some indepth geeky discussions about two of pop culture's long-lived franchises!
There's going to be even more DLC created for Final Fantasy XV, but how do we feel about this - has it ruined the overall experience? That's one of the questions tackled by Lauren and Darryl in this episode, amongst many, many others! We're also talking about classic Square/Square Enix franchises that could potentially be revived, what kind of remake we'd like to see for future Final Fantasy titles and flat out, whether or not we think they should just stop producing more content for Final Fantasy XV! It makes for a rather interesting episode, with plenty of different points of view on display and it's all rounded out with a sweet guitar arrangement! We hope you guys enjoy!

The Switch is facing some problems. Turns out if yours breaks, you're likely to lose any save data for games. Lesson: try not to break your Switch. Final Fantasy XV's DLC is getting interesting by taking some of the key characters in a different direction. In other news that is not really news. Destiny 2 has been announced. Blizzard is also launching a high-end collectible store. Tetris can help with PTSD and finally there's going to be a My Little Pony tabletop role-playing game. No, seriously.
