New reports suggest Call of Duty could arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 as early as 2026, but nothing has been officially confirmed by Nintendo, Microsoft, or Activision. This speculation ties back to Microsoft's previously announced commitment to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms following the Activision Blizzard acquisition. While no specific title, timeframe, or technical details have been announced, the conversation has picked up again as Switch 2 support discussions continue. For now, this remains unconfirmed and should be treated as industry speculation rather than an official announcement.Content Creation Gear https://n64josh.com/elgato use code N64JoshFor ad-free episodes, subscribe here. https://anchor.fm/nintendo-power-cast/subscribeConnect with meMy Nintendo Switch Recommendations: http://n64josh.com/amazonDiscord: http://n64josh.com/discord Twitch: https://twitch.com/n64josh Tiktok: https://tiktok.com/n64josh Twitter: https://twitter.com/n64josh

Welcome to episode #253 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we dive into some breaking news regarding the future of Call of Duty. As stated by Activision, Call of Duty will no longer do back to back releases for the same developer/series, meaning we will return to the original formula of developers alternating years in the hopes of a more developed game. This begs the question though if they should have COD on a two-year release cycle. What are the benefits of this move, and what are the challenges they would face? Along with this, we discuss a leaked rumor regarding the state of next year's COD title, and things are not looking good so far. We share our thoughts on what has been rumored, and what is the best path for COD going forward so Activision can hold up to their statement of “we will deliver, and overdeliver, on those expectations going forward.” Finally, we close with our CDL review as we go into the winter break, and share our thoughts on where each team stands currently. What do you think of the move back to alternating years for developers for COD? Do you think this will lend itself into more successful development cycles and produce better games, or is there a bigger issue that needs to be resolved? What do you think of the “MW4” rumors? Finally, what are your biggest takeaways from the first two weekends of the CDL? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week.

Triggered by BO7's mixed reviews (Metacritic 67, Steam "Mixed" 40-43% positive), Europe sales down 63% vs Battlefield 6 (7M+ copies in 3 days, Oct 2025) and 50%+ vs BO6, franchise fatigue from "slop" complaints, AI art backlash. Quote: “We will drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental” for annual releases with unique experiences, original titles over sequels/remakes, Nintendo Switch expansion via Microsoft deal. BO7 gets unprecedented Season 1 support, free Multiplayer/Zombies trial next week + Double XP. Amid $35B+ franchise revenue since 2005, competition from Battlefield 6 (best-selling 2025 shooter) and Arc Raiders (4M+ sales), Activision vows to overdeliver, restore trust with polished content, flexible rotations (e.g., 2026 non-BO).
Activision will stop releasing Modern Warfare and Black Ops Call of Duty games in consecutive years, aiming to provide a unique experience with each annual release. The company made this decision following mixed reviews and lower sales for Black Ops 7 and concerns about franchise fatigue. Activision plans to focus on meaningful innovation and respond to increased competition from titles like EA's Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders. The company has not shared specific details about future games but intends to push the first-person shooter genre forward while aligning with player expectations.Learn more on this news by visiting us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. Do tego kontrowersje z „Chef Kawasaki”, ostrzeżenia przed reżyserem Ghost in the Shell i… Banjo, który ożywa w Dreams. Rammer årets Call of Duty-titel skydeskiven?

Infinity Ward has posted new job listings asking for developers with Nintendo Switch experience, and it's the strongest sign yet that Call of Duty is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The listings mention engine work, optimization, and hardware specific development for Nintendo systems. This lines up with Microsoft's commitment to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms and the earlier reports that publishers saw Switch 2 tech demos behind closed doors. In today's live show we break down what these job posts mean, why they matter for Switch 2, and how this fits into the larger strategy for Activision and Microsoft going forward. Happy Thanksgiving week! Just a few major stories to break down this week. FarCry is headed to television on FX with Rob Mac staring, which is the right type of chaos that show needs. Wicked went off to see the wizard with a big box office take, and it might not be, for good. Plus Rush Hour 4 is happening, and the reason why is pretty unusual. That and more on this weeks episode.

We also talk through the relationship between Provenance and Figure, the recent IPO, and why the team believes not ALL assets should be tokenized. If you care about the future of stablecoins, onchain capital markets, or building Web3 brands with intention, this one's for you.
In today's Daily Fix:Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's launch likely isn't going the way Activision would have hoped, at least in Europe. Via The Game Business, the European launch of the game saw 63% fewer copies sold compared to competitor Battlefield 6. It's also down more than 50% against last year's Black Ops 6. Game Pass subscriptions have not been taken into account as Microsoft has not provided that data. In other news, Charlie Cox doesn't want any of the credit for his performance as Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, even as he's nominated at this year's The Game Awards. Cox would prefer the accolades go to mo-cap artist Maxence Cazorla. And finally, despite what the internet is saying, Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet very likely won't be out in 2026, and probably won't have presence at The Game Awards next month, either.

As was originally reported, Xbox brought out a Partner Preview in November. It was chockful of everything strange like a co-op alien shop simulator or a thuggish rabbit beating up baddies to more traditional first person horror titles. The catch was that every game we saw throughout was a Play Anywhere title, a program that many of Xbox's players still yearn for the platform to leverage more. All in all, the Dukes enjoyed the show, especially given it dropped ahead of the biggest show of the year in the Game Awards where announcements are typically prioritized. Beyond that, we dive deep into the Valve rumor mill. Half Life 3 is everywhere! Is it finally happening and are the Dukes believers? We get into that plus updated thoughts on the Steam Machine now that we've had some time to digest the triple-whammy Valve hit us with last week. Is Sony Ditching its PC Strategy For Valve's Steam Machine l The Game Awards GOTY Predictions Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/PSTrophyroom Discord: https://discord.gg/wPNp3kC BSYK: https://tinyurl.com/3e24bn7y Store: https://tinyurl.com/ktbsdw3s This week on The Trophy Room: A PlayStation Podcast hosts Teegan, Kyle, and Joe talk about... This week delivers one of the biggest news drops of the year across PlayStation, Xbox, and the wider gaming industry. We break down PlayStation's massive Black Friday 2025 deals, including $100 off PS5 consoles (Standard, Digital, and Pro), major discounts on PSVR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense controllers, Pulse headsets, and more. We also cover the huge PlayStation Plus sale, plus deep cuts on hundreds of digital PS5 and PS4 games—just in time for holiday shopping. But that's only the start. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is stumbling hard out of the gate. UK physical sales are down 61% compared to Black Ops 6, Steam concurrency is far below expectations, and Activision appears to be quietly hiding player-count data. We look at what's causing the drop—AI art controversy, campaign reception, franchise fatigue—and what it means for Call of Duty going forward. We also dive into the Game Awards 2025 nominations, where indies dominate the field. With Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Hades 2, and Hollow Knight: Silksong going head-to-head with Death Stranding 2, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, this year's GOTY race might be the most competitive ever. Meanwhile, an Xbox insider claims PlayStation is pulling back from PC releases, contradicting earlier reports of day-and-date launches. With Steam Machines, cross-buy rumors, and shifting exclusivity strategies across the industry, we break down what's real—and what's noise. Plus rapid-fire FLASH NEWS: – Mafia: The Old Country gets a major free update – PS5 Welcome Hub adds stats, seasonal backgrounds & new widgets – VatiVidya announces an official Elden Ring lore book – Twisted Metal renewed for Season 3 – A massive Ghost of Yōtei update arrives next week with New Game+, new vendors, new cosmetics, replayable content, stat tracking, armor upgrades, Photo Mode enhancements, accessibility options, and more If you love PlayStation, industry analysis, and real-time gaming news breakdowns, this episode is absolutely packed.
You should run to see The Running Man, because after you hear my review you wont be walking. Plus the Game Award Nominees have been revealed, and no Arc Raiders wasn't nominated by GOTY. Also Nick gives his purely honest thoughts about Black Ops 7. Nintendo pulls back the curtain on it's live action The Legend of Zelda, Squid Game US is happening sooner than expected, and Disney+ is bringing generative AI to the platform. That and more on this weeks episode.

The battle for Warner Bros. Discovery is seeing a new champion enter the ring, with Netflix making some moves to put their own bid in for the studio's properties. According to Reuters, the streaming pioneer engaged with investment bank Moelis & Co. in order to prepare an offer. Ironically, this is the same bank that worked with David Ellison at Skydance to take over Paramount whose first bid to buy Warner Bros. Discovery was rejected. It was the worst weekend at the box office this year, with ticket sales coming in at just $52.4 million. This also makes it the lowest-grossing Halloween weekend in 31 years, excluding theater closures due to COVID in 2020. While new film Regretting You took in a respectable $50 million, Black Phone 2 really has the crown from the weekend having now brought in $104 million globally - another huge win for horror this year. Yorgos Lanthimos' new film Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, is sitting at a small $11.1 million globally after breaking into more theaters. Both Scream 7 and Stranger Things Season 5 released trailers recently. Stranger Things' official trailer showed us a bit more of what to expect from that property and Scream 7, which releases on February 27, 2026, gave us a glance at the returning original cast members of Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, and David Arquette. As we discussed last week, Stranger Things will release in three parts on holiday weekends, four episodes on November 26, three episodes on Christmas Day, and the finale on New Year's Eve.A 'Conjuring' prequel film is in development at Warner Bros. and New Line, with short film director Rodrigue Huart in talks to direct. Franchise veterans Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg, who co-wrote the two prior “Conjuring” films, 2023's “The Nun II” and this September's “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” are on board to pen the screenplay. After landing the rights to turn one of the world's biggest video games into an epic movie, Paramount has now landed two A-list filmmakers to develop it. Sources tell Deadline that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg have joined Paramount and Activision to develop and produce a Call of Duty movie, with Paramount distributing a live-action feature film.Hulu has ordered two more seasons of the revived King of the Hill animated series, the 16th and 17th overall and third and fourth seasons as a streaming original. Season 14 premiered in August and is the first half of Hulu's initial two-season, 20-episode order; season 15 is set to debut in 2026.Sam Mendes' four Beatles films have filled out the cast by adding the spouses of the four band members. Saoirse Ronan will play Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai will play Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood will play Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce will play Maureen Starkey.Ariana Grande has joined the cast of season 13 of American Horror Story, which is currently on track to debut around Halloween 2026.Toho has officially revealed the title of its next “Godzilla” feature that will serve as a sequel to Godzilla: Minus One as “Godzilla -0.0” (Godzilla Minus Zero). The film will once again be written, directed and produced by the same team behind 2023's “Godzilla Minus One.” Currently, there are no plot details, but the studio is currently targeting a release date in late 2026.Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are going back to the desert for The Mummy 4. The film will be directed by the duo known as Radio Silence, composed of Martin Bettinelli-Opin and Tyler Gillett, who directed 2019's Ready or Not.

In today's Daily Fix:Battlefield 6's battle royale mode, REDSEC, has officially dropped. REDSEC doesn't just include battle royale—there's also Gauntlet, which is a separate mode meant for smaller matches of 32 players. And there's also Portal, which allowed players to customize their matches. In related news, Activision is opening another free trial of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies. The trial is live now through November 3rd. This could just be coincidence that Battlefield's biggest competitor is dropping a free trial the same day EA launches REDSEC, or it could be the first in many head-to-head battles between two of the biggest military shooters in the games industry. And finally, Time Extension has details on a Matrix video game that the Wachowskis pitched to Hideo Kojima.
