The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe George O'Barski's Stonehenge sighting. No, not that Stonehenge. The other one. The apartment complex in New Jersey. Before we get in to that we cover whether it would be wise to have a Predator as a pet. This one starts out like any typical sighting but rather than run and hide, George decided to get in closer to probe. George was greeted by the sight of… Lifeforms. Were the lifeforms seen in todays episode Alakazam's? Or Tonberry's? On that note, what do Tonberry's eat? Another question asked today is whether a glass window can shatter on its own? How does this relate to Moonwalker being probed? Yes, today we cover the fact that Moonwalker has definitely been probed. The case we cover today has had MUFON and CUFOS all over it. But why didn't it make national headlines? All that and more on this week's file. Additional music via: https://freepd.com - thank you most kindly good people. Nintendo's Pokemon theme was also snuck in today - thank you to Nintendo, Game Freak and the original composer Junichi Masuda from whom's work the Pokemon series music grew - another franchise that enlightened our childhood and which we reference regularly on the show. We couldn't resist sticking in a snippet from the Final Fantasy 7 original soundtrack, Let The Battles Begin, composed by Nobuo Uematsu and produced by Uematsu and Minoru Akao. Because we'd utilised that, later on we snuck a second clip from the soundtrack entitled Lurking In The Darkness. Finally, because we got all nostalgic after the other two themes, the sad Aerith's Theme was also included at the end. To this day this one still hits us right in the feels. The Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack was released on 10/02/1997 and later rereleased directly by Square Enix on 10/05/2004. This Playstation game is in almost everybody's top 5 video games of all time list so thank you, Square Enix, on behalf of the world. Just before Aerith's Theme, whilst Mulder'ing up, the famous X-Files tune from the television series played. The famous instrumental, usually known as ‘The X-Files' was composed by Mark Snow. Thank you to Mark Snow and also show creator Chris Carter - whilst we parody at times, the show was a huge inspiration for this podcast as well as much of the modern paranormal field in general.

It's a new year and it promises to be a busy one for the Final Fantasy franchise! Alongside discussing the various games that should either be released this year, or will have more information revealed (e.g. Final Fantasy XVI), Lauren and Darryl talk about the current state of Final Fantasy and Square Enix in general as they look forward to the year ahead. There's also a bittersweet announcement at the end of the show.
New year, new Axe of the Blood God! Our new Stars of Destiny tier has kicked off in earnest, and we had our first live taping of the podcast, followed by a special post-show discussion. That's right, for 25 smackeroos you can listen to us flub our lines and then get into a fight about Super Mario World vs Super Mario Bros. 3. Very rated R stuff. See, the R stands for "rad." This week's main show covers a bunch of stuff, including: - The great indie RPG 2022 preview! Some gorgeous retro-style fare is coming up, like Sea of Stars, SacriFire, and Eiyuden Chronicles Rising. - We're revisiting the Top 25 RPGs of All Time, and we want you to help us update our selection! - Square Enix is having NFT FOMO, and the world must suffer for it. - Eric is now a Final Fantasy XIV sicko. Ha ha…yes! Yessss! If you weren't able to pop to the post-show, we've got that for you, too. We talk about Sony's drive to produce only "prestige" games, and how that new philosophy will affect RPGs. Then everything breaks down into Super Mario chaos. Mama mia.
This week's episode of Sacred Symbols is full of acronym soup. Let's start with the biggest news: PSVR2. While Sony revealed PlayStation VR's successor last year, we finally have new information, though -- frustratingly -- we still lack a release date or price. Along with fresh PSVR2 details comes a new game, too, something from the first party. It's called Horizon: Call of the Mountain, and we're eager to talk about it. Then: NFTs. Japanese publishers Square Enix and Konami are the latest to signal their intentions to enter the goofy world of the non-fungible token. What does it all mean for we gamers? We discuss. And how about TLoU? That stands for The Last of Us, of course, and compelling new rumors indicate a ground-up PS5 remake of the classic PS3 game is near. Plus: New details surrounding God of War: Ragnarok's release date, sales data for both Ghost of Tsushima and Days Gone, a delayed reveal for Final Fantasy XVI, Tencent's further expansion, and more, all capping off with listener inquiries. Are we underestimating Tom Holland's value to Sony? What's the deal with silent protagonists? Which 2022 release has the potential to be most disappointing? Tonight on GeekNights, we review Lost Ruins of Arnak (2020). It's an elegant worker placement deckbuilder. We like it. In the news, COVID-19 is again an extreme crisis (please don't go to MAGFest this coming weekend), Square Enix made a repugnant New Year's statement, Kickstarter is dead, and the fake high school was indeed fake.

Reactive Consciousness Podcast 04-06-2021 w/ LotusPrince and Vysethebold! This week the guys react to SquareEnix loving NFT's, Limited Run Games delays, HG101 getting two new books, and more!
A Square Enix NFT announcement has been met with fan outrage and controversy. It seems as though every developer wants to find a way to make an NFT game to cash in on the trend and rising popularity. NFTs themselves are somewhat of an enigma for most people, and even to those who understand them, they seem fraught with problems and risks. Many seem to think it's as simple as turning it into an "NFT games play to earn" situation which would only benefit the players and those investing. Others are worried that any sort of gaming NFT push is simply developers and publishers looking for more ways to monetize games beyond microtransactions. Final Fantasy 16 release date news arrived in the form of a delay as well as a promised announcement for spring of 2022. Players seeing the news of Final Fantasy 16 delayed were certainly disappointed, but it came with transparency and good news. The Final Fantasy XVI trailer debuted over a year ago and many are still waiting to see actual gameplay. Another to consider in all of this is the FFXVI PS5 launch exclusivity and what that means for the PC community. Final Fantasy XVI is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 5. It is the sixteenth game in the mainline Final Fantasy series and is being produced by Naoki Yoshida aka yoshi p and directed by Hiroshi Takai. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, BuzzFeed data scientist Max Woolf forced a bot to look at every Pokémon ever created – then told it to generate its own. The results are both adorably cute and absolutely terrifying. Could these potentially become actual Pokémon or a creepypasta? Square Enix has confirmed that, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Final Fantasy 16's development has been delayed by "almost a half year" and the next big reveal will not take place until Spring 2022. Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida shared the news on Twitter and took the time to apologize that he and the team would not be able to keep their promise to show more of the much-anticipated next entry in the Final Fantasy series in 2021. PUBG: Battlegrounds, the game that kicked off the rise of the battle royale genre, is officially going free-to-play on January 12, 2022. This means that anyone who has ever wanted to shout out, “Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner,” can now do so without so much as pulling out their wallet. This is obviously a big change for PUBG, and we're here to break down what exactly this means for new and existing players. Narz has all that in your Daily Fix!
To celebrate the end of 2021, we're making a Pantheon of the Blood God available to all of our listeners as a special thank you for all of your support! In this edition of Pantheon of the Blood God, Kat and Nadia are joined by special guest Alex Donaldson to dive deep into Final Fantasy VIII! Once considered the series' black sheep, Final Fantasy VIII is now held in higher regard, but is it worthy of the Pantheon? Kat and Nadia have very different opinions on that front. Regardless, there's much to unpack about Square Enix's flawed masterpiece, and that's exactly what Kat, Nadia, and Alex do as they discuss its rapid development, its curious Junction System, its marvelous soundtrack, and wonderful elements like Triple Triad. Truly, it's far from perfect, but it's one of the most memorable RPGs ever made. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, While many were very excited when Final Fantasy 7 Remake finally arrived on PC after a year and a half from its original release date, it was quickly discovered that this port has some major problems that will hopefully be addressed in a future patch. As reported by PC Gamer, Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Graphics Settings list on PC is surprisingly bare and offers "no variable framerate option, no way to tweak anti-aliasing, toggle VSync, or control effects like motion blur." There is also no way to control resolution scaling to help balance image quality and performance. Speaking of performance, there have also been reports of framerate drops and instability when simply moving the camera. Those who redeemed Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation Plus back in March 2021 will finally be able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game at no extra cost on Wednesday, December 22. Square Enix revealed the news on Twitter while also sharing that Final Fantasy VII Remake's Episode Intermission starring Yuffie Kisaragi will also be 25% off on the same day for a limited time. Supergiant Games' Hades has made history as it has officially become the first video game to win a Hugo Award. The Hugo Awards were first presented in 1953 and honor the best works in science fiction and fantasy. Up until 2021, video games and their stories have not been under consideration, but that has now changed. A new Doom mod by Ultra.Boi on ModDB allows you to play Doom with hellish creatures swapped for NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. Narz has all that in your Daily Fix!

While many of the year's biggest heavy-hitters debuted last month, December is no slouch when it comes to blockbusters either. On today's IGN The Fix: Games, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has reportedly reached a settlement with a number of unhappy investors who had issued complaints after the game's disastrous launch last year. Earlier this year, it was reported that the developer was facing four lawsuits from investors following the turbulent launch of Cyberpunk 2077. As reported by The Verge, CD Projekt Red has now moved to settle the lawsuits, which have rolled into one larger suit, and in doing so appears set to pay out around $1.85 million dollars to resolve the issue. Square Enix has had to temporarily suspend sales of Final Fantasy XIV because of the tremendous success of its latest expansion, Endwalker. Writing on the Final Fantasy XIV website, producer and director Naoki Yoshida explained that the sheer amount of people playing Endwalker has far exceeded Square's server capacity. In order to try and alleviate the long wait times for players logging in, the company has decided to stop selling Final Fantasy XIV to new players to temporarily stem the tide of incoming server traffic. Warner Bros. Pictures has partnered with NVidia to give away three officially licensed-Matrix-themed-modded PCs in celebration of the launch of The Matrix Resurrections! Enter to win one of three custom officially licensed Matrix-themed PCs. These are one of a kind builds with the latest GeForce RTX GPUs and are all fully water-cooled. Narz has all that in your Daily Fix!
Final Fantasy XIV Online has dropped its latest expansion, Endwalker, and it is popular. So popular in fact that wait times have proven a topic of controversy for players and Square Enix alike, going so far as to see the game published actually suspend sales of the game going into the holiday season.
