He is the co-founder of Free Press, a national media reform organization. From 2002–2012 Dr. McChesney hosted the “Media Matters” weekly radio program every Sunday afternoon on WILL-AM Dr. McChesney is among the most widely read and honored communication scholars in the world today. Dr. Stephen Long is the Gutgsell Endowed Professor of Crop Sciences and Plant Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He received his BS (1st Agriculture) at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom and his PhD in Plant Sciences from Leeds University in the United Kingdom. Steve served on the faculty in Environmental Physiology at the University of Essex before joining the faculty at the University of Illinois. Steve has received a number of awards and honors during his career, including being named a Fellow of the Royal Society. Steve is here with us today to tell us about his journey through life and science.
