Two terrific interviews this week! The legendary Joe Moreira checks in to talk about his time training with Rubao Carioca, John Schell's black belt and the key to a great stack pass. Then, a featured interview with multiple-time black belt world champion Leo Nogueira from Alliance. He tells us about the one win he's most proud of; how he got his blue belt in just three months, and his advice for current today's blue belts; the most important thing he's learned from Romero Jacare; what training with Fabio Gurgel is like (hint: TOUGH -- the easiest rounds at Fabio's were with current brown belt world champions); who his best training partners have been (including one who you've never heard of, but is 'better than a lot of black belt world champions'); the greatness of Bruno Malfacine; the two guys he thinks are the best sport competitors; his best single piece of advice for guard passing; how to have a long, healthy jiujitsu career; favorite competitors to watch; and more. UFC 209 Review UFC 209 review – It came and went and we were thrilled as well as diappointed. MMA Fancast has immediate reaction to this card, as we are joined by special guest John Schell. In a main event that will long be remembered as a rematch that does NOT need a trilogy, Tyron Woodley was able to defend his welterweight strap in what can only be considered one of the most disappointing fights in UFC and welterweight championship history. UFC 209 Review Lando Vannata and David Teymur went toe to toe in a fight that stole the show. This pairing has all the makings of a longtime rivalry and these are two young men who show great promise to reach the top of the lightweight division and possibly be stables there for years to come. UFC 209 Review Rashad Evans and Daniel Kelly had a battle that showed both the age of these combatants as well as the growth of these two. Rashad looked to be in amazing shape visually, but ring rust was also apparent. Was this an indication that he simply can no longer compete with the top tier or will things improve once he can shake off the ring rust? UFC 209 Review Amanda Cooper and Cynthia Calvillo was a true story of being presented opportunities and capitalizing on them. Cynthia Calvillo was making her octagon debut against Cooper and was originally slated to fight on the Fight Pass Prelim portion of the card. That all changed when the Khabib / Furguson fight got scrapped. Calvillo’s UFC debut was not going to occur on the PPV portion of the card and boy did she take full advantage of the opportunity. UFC 209 Review Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt was bound to end with devastation, and it certainly did not disappoint. Overeem landed some huge knees in the 3rd round of this contest and Hunt was left motionless. UFC 209 Review On the undercard, we were truly treated to one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the UFC. Prior to that fight, we saw another amazing comeback! We talk about all this and much more on this episode of MMA Fancast!
