Looking for natural ways to support your lymphatic system and improve drainage pathways?    In this episode of the Healthy Hustle Podcast, host Rachel Feldman sits down with Alain Carriere, a Candida survivor and gut health specialist, to discuss the topic of Candida and gut wellness.    They dive into what Candida is, how it can get out of balance in the body, and the symptoms associated with an overgrowth. Alain shares his personal journey of struggling with chronic fatigue, intense sugar cravings, and recurrent yeast infections before finding relief through proper diagnosis and treatment.    Join Rachel and Alain as they discuss the various factors that can contribute to Candida overgrowth such as diet, hormonal imbalances, poor digestion, heavy metal toxicity, and liver stagnation. Alain emphasizes the importance of addressing the root causes rather than just focusing on symptom management and provides details on specific strategies to overcome your own struggles with Candida overgrowth.   Alain's Links: Facebook Instagram   In my Clean Eating Hacks list-builder & marketing kit, you have everything you need to build an email list of raving fans and potential clients. 5 Clean Eating Hacks Guide: Build your list with a lead magnet that everyone will want! Originally, I produced this post for Forbes in 2018. During my recovery, I'm sharing it again to refocus a bit of attention on strategies for impact in Haiti.Resenting the prevailing narrative about poverty in Haiti, Marc Alain Boucicault, 30, a Fulbright Scholar, and a former economist for the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, is putting his experience to work as a social entrepreneur, hoping to change the story and the economy.Boucicault recently launched Haiti's first coworking space for technology entrepreneurs in Haiti. He kicked off Banj, as he calls the new venture, with a tech conference that included representatives from Facebook and Google. He hopes to see technology infuse the traditional economy, giving more farmers and business owners access to international markets, eventually narrowing the country's overwhelming trade deficit.Banj already has 100 members with four of 13 available offices rented—and it's profitable, according to Boucicault. He's built the business with sponsorships rather than loans or equity. The members and tenants cover the infrastructure costs, and the partners fund program costs. The business sprang directly from Boucicault's experience as an economist. “As a young economist, I was frustrated by writing about the macroeconomics of Haiti, marked by a negative real growth over the past 30 years. I saw hope in the young entrepreneurs I was meeting every day but knew there was a long way to go before they can bring a change to the economy. I knew that, if one day, I could find a working model to help, I would want to go and do that full time,” he says. Now he has.Christine Souffrant Ntim, a Forbes 30 Under 30 winner and founder of the Haiti Tech Summit, hosted her Haiti Tech Summit at Banj on April 26, bringing Facebook and Google to Haiti. She is excited about the impact it will have on the country. “It serves as a true example of entrepreneurial leadership,” she says. She notes that basics like internet access and electricity remain challenges for many entrepreneurs, and Banj solves that problem for entrepreneurs, allowing them to focus on their projects. In addition, Banj provides entrepreneurs with access to experts and mentors. She also notes that Banj has made so much progress so quickly that it is changing the perception of what is possible in Haiti. “Within a year, Banj has been a partner or space for Google, Facebook, Startup Grind Port Au Prince, Hult Prize Haiti and more.”Haiti's history is difficult. The CIA's World Fact Book describes Haiti as the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The indigenous Taino people were nearly wiped out by Spanish settlers within 25 years of Columbus landing on the island. More recently, exports have not yet recovered to pre-earthquake levels, and the country continues to run a large trade deficit.“But that's the narrative we're trying to change. We want people to see Haiti differently,” says Boucicault. From his perspective, technology has the potential to enable even the most basic industries in Haiti to grow. For instance, the agricultural sector can increase output and exports by getting help from technology. His strategy is to pair the “traditional rich Haitian bourgeoisie who have access to assets, have access to capital and combine them with the lower, middle-class Haitian who doesn't have access to capital, doesn't have access to money but have access to ideas.”There is no question that Haiti needs a new narrative. Here's hoping that the story Boucicault wants to write in its place proves to be nonfiction. Get full access to Superpowers for Good at www.superpowers4good.com/subscribe

Michaela is the creator of The Non-Linear Movement Method, and her book The Wild Woman's Way  was published in 2018.Listen as we discuss:What is intimacy? The meaning of embodiment, the ability to hear and feel the messages of the bodyHow intimacy with yourself is the fundamental step before intimacy with othersIs it normal to lose the spark in your relationship? Continuing our love and relationships series, we revisit my chat with the incredible Alain de Botton.  One of the most listened episodes on Slo Mo, I and the British-Swiss philosopher, Alain de Botton, dive deep into one of my favorite topics: Love. Alain de Botton is a philosopher and writer of essayistic books that have been described as a "philosophy of everyday life." He's written on love, travel, architecture and literature. His books have been bestsellers in 30 countries and have sold millions of copies. Alain also started and helps to run a school in London called The School of Life, dedicated to a new vision of education. His latest book, published in September 2019, is a collection of essays written for The School of Life, titled The School of Life: An Emotional Education.I love talking about love, just as much as I'm happy to discuss happiness. Alain's body and scope of work is so vast, I decided to focus this conversation entirely on love, sex, and relationships. I'm so glad I did.We will revisit:What is love? Alain's definition of love: 'when two people meet in their raw condition.'How the opposite extreme of love is Loneliness, not Hatred. How Life is a desperate emergency, and if we can just admit that, things open up.Why Christianity gives a privileged role to those who sufferOne of the most honest takes on sex you'll ever hearHow we're always trying to get our life as close as possible to our true realityIf we're all imperfect, doesn't that make imperfection perfect? How we've replaced happiness with "fun" just as we've replaced love with "romance"The contradictions in love and how they're only glaring because they violate a script or story we expect from our relationshipHow we shouldn't be held accountable for what we feel, but rather the actions we take based on those feelings.Reinterpreting the typical disaster scenario in a relationship when one partner cheats on another.Humanity's transition from demonizing sex to trying to understand itThe differences (or lack thereof) between male and female in love and sexSexual fetishes and their unique place in couple connectionsUndertakers and nurses as beacons of acceptanceThe game of life is trying to find connectionsThe ironic outcome of jealousy's intentionsHow to keep your partner faithfulAlain's love advice to my daughterCoping with the feeling of being rushed into marriage as a womanWhat "God is love" really meansSeeing your partner as an Adorable Idiot rather than just a regular idiotConnect with Alain de Botton on Twitter @alaindebotton and alaindebotton.comYouTube: @mogawdatofficialInstagram: @mo_gawdatLinkedIn: /in/mogawdatWebsite: mogawdat.comDon't forget to subscribe to Slo Mo for new episodes every Saturday.

Does the stigma around mental health impact your view of life? Joining Sarah Grynberg is prolific author, philosopher and creator of the School Of Life Alain de Botton, who is not only the brain behind 15 internationally bestselling books, but a man who strives to understand the meaning of life. In this eye-opening conversation, Alain and Sarah discuss the force and impact that love can have throughout life, how a person's mental breakdown is not the end of their life but often the beginning, and how childhood experiences, no matter how traumatic, don't have to define a person if they work to nurture their wellbeing. If you struggle to embrace all the things that are messy in life, and that you can't control, let this episode prove that there is joy in that messiness, and always a purpose.    Alain De Botton's book A Therapeutic Journey: 'Lessons from the School of Life' HERE.  Purchase Sarah's Manifest Your Greatness Course here.  Purchase Sarah's Kid's Meditation here.  Instagram: @sarahgrynberg   Website: https://sarahgrynberg.com/ Facebook: facebook.com/sarahgrynberg Twitter: twitter.com/sarahgrynberg YouTube: youtube.com/sarahgrynbergSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

-----------------------------
