The waiting is over. In the upper room, the disciples had been praying and preparing, but now God moves. The Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus, is poured out in power, equipping the disciples to proclaim the Gospel in a way they never could on their own. The miracle of Pentecost isn’t just about the signs and wonders—it’s about God launching His Church into its mission. The same Spirit that fell on Pentecost is the Spirit that empowers us today, calling us to take the Gospel to every nation, tribe, and tongue.

Human nature often is attracted to big, flashy objects. As a child did you ignore the obvious socks/underwear gift boxes, but instead grabbed first the big wrapped present that resembled the latest gaming console? Sadly many Christians similarly ignore the Holy Spirit, even worse resist his influence for other worldly things. To be God's witnesses in the world requires the Holy Spirit to be active in believers; otherwise efforts are futile. In Acts 2, the retelling of Pentecost reminds us of the precious gift of the Holy Spirit, often neglected, but always present. "Resistance is futile!"

Love God. Love People.
The Giving of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus declared that his disciples would be his witnesses “to the ends of the earth.” Early Christians lived out this proclamation in powerful and palpable ways. Today we struggle to witness to those close to us, let alone to those at the ends of the earth. This series offers a glimpse into ways early Christians witnessed. Impacted? What did Pentecost mean to the early church? How was it celebrated? Ps Julian looks at how Pentecost reminds us of God's provision, salvation, the gift of tongues and the incredible message of God's redemption through Christ in this Pentecost Message.
