Happy Wednesday! This week on Finding Something Real, we are sharing one of our co-host's story, Katelyn! She doesn't come from a faith background and is still wrestling with the idea of Christianity. She opens up about her experience, questions about faith and some of her hesitations about religion in general. We are so grateful for Katelyn's honesty and vulnerability. She is such a delight. We hope you love her as much as we do! - -- -- -- -- LINKS Release What God Has Already Given Us with Jesse Childress Making the Case for Christ with J. Love God. Love People.
The Thought Leader Revolution Podcast | 10X Your Impact, Your Income & Your Influence
"The whole point of life is people, is other people, is the love that you have for other people. That love is what makes you strong. It's what makes your life worth living." Real wealth in business and entrepreneurship doesn't come from possessions or revenue; it comes from people. When you build a company around love, gratitude, and relationships, everything else becomes a tool rather than the goal. "Love people, use things" becomes a strategy: clients are human beings, your team is family, and money is simply fuel to serve more lives. Sitting in a house full of laughter, food, and hugs on Thanksgiving, I'm reminded that every real win in my life has people at the center of it. I feel deep gratitude for my partner, my kids, my clients, my team, and every entrepreneur who's trusted me to help grow their business and impact. Relationships are the real ROI. If this lands for you, turn it into action. Stop stressing over stuff that breaks and start protecting the love in the room. Call someone you haven't spoken to and tell them what they mean to you. Build your business around serving people, not worshiping things. Visit https://www.eCircleAcademy.com and book a success call with Nicky to take your practice to the next level.

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you're enjoying this time with loved ones. This week on Finding Something Real, we are joined with Jesse Childress and one of our co-host, Sarah. Jesse and Sarah talk about the tension of not having the all the answers while also being called to release what we do know and let others know how God has worked in our lives. Jesse Childress has an MA in Cultural Apologetics from Houston Christian University and is currently a student at Denver Seminary studying counseling, focusing particularly on the relationship between trauma and faith. He spent a term studying at Francis Schaeffer's L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland and has a deep appreciation for good food, philosophy, theology, and literature. He has written for Summit Ministries, the Anselm Society, Conciliar Post, and An Unexpected Journal. We hope you enjoy this week's episode! - -- -- -- -- LINKS Making the Case for Christ with J. In this episode, I sit down with Jenny Marrs, author, adoptive mom, and co-host of HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous, for a tender and deeply human conversation about grief, waiting, restoration, and the steady presence of God in the middle of it all. Jenny shares openly about a season of profound loss, the long and miraculous journey to bring her daughter home from the Congo, and the everyday choice to trust God when life feels overwhelming or out of control. We talk about compassion in a divided world, what it means to “go with the strength you have,” and how the smallest moments, from heart-shaped stones to a stranger's kindness to a child's simple confession of faith, can become markers of God's faithfulness. This is an honest and hopeful look at what it means to live out Trust God, Love People in real time, and I believe her story will be both grounding and deeply encouraging for you.Jenny Marrs is a designer, author, and passionate advocate for community transformation, family preservation, and orphan care around the globe. She is the author of House + Home = Love, and co-hosts Fixer to Fabulous with her husband, Dave. She and Dave live on a small farm in Bentonville, Arkansas, with their five kids and too many animals to count.Jenny's Book:Trust God, Love PeopleJenny's Recommendation:HeartlandConnect with Joshua: jjohnson@shiftingculturepodcast.comGo to www.shiftingculturepodcast.com to interact and donate. On this episode of Finding Something Real, we are joined with homicide detective, J. Warner Wallace. He has become a dear friend to the podcast and has great insight on making the case for Christ. We are also joined with our co-host, Sarah. Sarah shares her genuine questions about faith. Even though she is Christian, she still deals with doubt. Questions that she feel we will never fully know the answers to. J. Warner Wallace asks compelling questions to reframe our perspective on addressing doubt and hard theological questions. J. Warner Wallace is a Dateline featured cold-case homicide detective, popular national speaker and best-selling author. He continues to consult on cold-case investigations while serving as a Senior Fellow at the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He is also an adjunct professor of apologetics at Talbot School of Theology (Biola University), Gateway Seminary, and Southern Evangelical Seminary, and a faculty member at Summit Ministries. J. Warner became a Christ-follower at the age of thirty-five after investigating the claims of the New Testament gospels using his skill set as a detective. He eventually earned a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary. Catching up with Annie Bosko after 20 years felt like picking up the same honest, fiery conversations we’ve always had—about life, faith, resilience, and finding your way. She’s still the California cowgirl with a backbone of steel and a heart wide open. Her debut album California Cowgirl shows that spirit in full force, with standout tracks like the Haggard-inspired “Bright and Blue Sky,” the tough-love jolt of “Cowboy Up,” and powerhouse collabs with Dwight Yoakam, Joe Nichols, and Darius Rucker. At the center of it? Love God. Love People. And Cowboy Up when life gets real.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this episode of Finding Something Real, we are joined with a returning guest, Jason Schmidt. Jason's parents were Janell's Youth Pastor's. They had a tremendous impact on her life and now has the privilege of sharing that with their son, Jason. We are also joined with one of our co-host, Ana. Jason is a High School and Young Adult Pastor in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is currently in seminary, coaches boys soccer, and loves investing in this next generation. In this conversation we unravel grief. Both and Ana and Jason lost their dad at an early age. Ana asks questions about how Jason handle his grief, if he felt any pressure to step into ministry because of his dad, and some disappointments they experience in the church. We are joining with other Churches in our region to be in unity and awaken the sleeping giant, the local Church, and impact our community with the tangible compassion and love of Jesus. We want to love like Jesus because Jesus is the demonstration of God's love for us. We can't even contain God's supernatural love. We must let Him infuse us with His love and look for opportunities to give in a way that is costly and precious. I must remember how God loves me and praise Him, and be ready with my testimony of what He has saved me from. I must pray every day for an opportunity to express love in a way that is costly. I can take action and be ready, so that when the Holy Spirit quickens me it will be easy to give and express His supernatural love

Morning Mantra: "Use things, not people. Love people, not things."When we get attached to temporary items like material "things" we can often wonder why our happiness doesn't last. As soon as that item looses it's sparkle or breaks, there goes your contentment.Loving people is harder. They have opinions, moods, their own views and reality. But they also offer a lifetime of love. A place for your love to go and grow. A place where your feelings can get deeper.Things cannot make you feel loved, respected or cared for. Only people can do that. But you have to be willing to open yourself up. Be vulnerable. That's why so many people seek happiness in things. But for lasting joy, contentment and happiness you cannot attach your love to temporary things.#BeAPeopleLover #BeHappy #BeHorsey #BeHippie #HorseHippie #HorseHippieBoutique #InspirationalQuotes #Inspire #QuotesToMakeYouFeelGood #QuotesFromTheHeart #MorningMantrasQuote: Spencer Kimbell

Agape love instead of hate is the way of Jesus in a world that feels increasingly hostile and polarized. In this episode, we explore how to practice agape love. Jesus' command to love our enemies and those who persecute us. Agape love is to love someone regardless of how you feel about them. It is acting for another's good without compromising biblical truth. You'll learn four practical steps rooted in Scripture: pray for them (Matt. 5:44–45), find common ground in the image of God (Gen. 1:27), bless those who curse you (Luke 6:28), and set healthy Christian boundaries (Rom. 12:18). You'll learn how agape love was exhibited by Jesus on the cross when he died for us while we were still his enemies (Rom. 5:8), and how Christ commands his disciples to show agape love (John 13:34–35).If you're wrestling with anger, outrage, or online conflict, this “third way” shows how to respond with Christlike love, neither venting rage nor ignoring sin.Clickable chapters below. So many of us are trying to love from depletion, not overflow. Jesus didn't say “love your neighbor more” — He said “as yourself.” In this episode, Rion unpacks how distorted self-perception fractures our relationships — and how aligning your identity with God's truth can restore authentic love, leadership, and peace. This is where healing begins — when you finally see yourself the way He does.
I'm so excited for you to meet my friend Jenny Marrs in this episode, she is the real deal: generous, grounded, and hilariously honest about what it's like to parent a big, beautiful, complicated family. Jenny's new book, Trust God, Love People (out October 7 — grab it wherever you buy books), is a collection of short, bite-sized stories of God's faithfulness written especially for busy parents who don't have time to read a memoir cover-to-cover. We talk adoption, spiritual warfare, and the he middle of the mess, yes, including Jenny's delightful obsession with “heart rocks” (you'll want to start collecting them on your next walk). If you're in a waiting season — adoption, infertility, loss, or any long “not yet” — Jenny's honesty about how waiting reshaped her faith will land like a warm hand on your shoulder. She shares the ways her family marks God's faithfulness (photos, rocks, kitchen bowls full of memory) and how those markers bring perspective when grief or chaos arrives. We also get real about life in the public eye: filming a family show, the hard comments online, and protecting kids while being authentic. Jenny's practical tiny tweaks are gold for busy moms: bring meals, send a quick “thinking of you” text, call people by name, and keep a giant handwritten calendar where everyone can see it — simple, doable, meaningful. Before we go, Jenny answers rapid-fire (including what she's clinging to in hard times — a New Year's trip countdown on her airline app — and one filming secret: outfit changes for days). Tiny tweak reminder from us both this week: if someone comes to mind, bring them a meal or send a quick note, loving people well is usually small, and it matters more than we know.
