Message - Pastor Nic Burleson“Poured Out”2 Timothy 4:6-8
Preacher: Oscar Emetuei Sermon: Burnt By Fire, Poured In To Community Date: 07/06/2026
Itching ears chase flattering voices; faithful lives are poured out. In 2 Timothy 4:1–7, Paul charges Timothy to preach the word in season and out, even when people gather teachers to suit their own passions and wander into myths. This message contrasts self-flattering religion with Paul's poured-out life: sober-minded, enduring, and ready for the righteous Judge who will award the crown of righteousness to all who love Christ's appearing.
When firefighters responded to a car burning off the side of Interstate 10 in Arizona, it looked like a routine highway fire. But hidden inside the vehicle was the body of 22-year-old Mercedes Vega, and investigators quickly realized this was one of the most horrifying cases they had ever encountered. As detectives dug into Mercedes' final hours, they uncovered a trail of disturbing clues: blood in her apartment parking garage, surveillance footage capturing her last known moments alive, abandoned vehicles, and evidence suggesting she may have been targeted long before the night she disappeared….If you're new here, don't forget to follow the show for weekly deep dives into the darkest true crime cases! Today we're continuing in Philippians 2, looking at verse 17,where the Apostle Paul says: "Yes, and if I am being poured out as adrink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad andrejoice with you all." Paul is using an Old Testament picture ofsacrifice. In those days, wine would often be poured out upon a sacrifice as anoffering to God. Paul says that his own life is being poured out like thatdrink offering. What a picture of surrender! Paulwas in prison as he wrote these words. He faced uncertainty, suffering, andpossible execution. Yet he did not speak with bitterness. He spoke with joy. Whywas that? Because he had totally and absolutely surrendered his life to JesusChrist. He saw his suffering as an act of worship. Romans 12:1 tells us that weare to “present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable untoGod, which is only our reasonable service” after all that God has done forus. Christianity is not merely believing certain truths. It is the offering ofourselves fully to God. Paul'sjoy did not depend upon comfortable circumstances. His joy came from knowingthat his life was being used for the glory of God. Oh, my friend, what adifference it makes when we begin to understand that! This is the secret oflasting joy. The world says today that joy or happiness comes from getting. Butthe Bible, and Jesus Himself, teach us that joy and true blessedness come fromgiving. In Acts 20:35, we read these words that Jesus said: "It is moreblessed to give than to receive." Somany of us today struggle with joy because we are focused mainly onourselves—what we want, what we feel, and what we are going through—instead offocusing on God and His glory. Joy grows when we pour out our lives in servingChrist and others. Have you ever poured out your life? The Scriptures tell usthat Jesus Christ poured out His blood on the cross, and He became brokenbread. That is what the Lord's Supper is about: broken bread and poured-outwine. Today that is what we can become in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ bythe grace of God. Aswe do, we begin to nourish others until they can learn to nourish themselves. Wemight even become a doormat. Yes, people may wipe their feet on us. Yet werejoice when that happens, just as Paul did in prison. What joy we have insidebecause we know that the feet of those who wipe their feet on us are cleanernow. Perhaps, as a result of our response rather than our reaction, they toowill glorify Christ and come to know Him. Paulrejoiced even while suffering because sacrifice for Christ is never wasted. Missionariesunderstand this great truth. Faithful pastors understand this truth. Godlyparents understand this truth. Godly Christians—believers who give their livesin service through the ministry of their local church—understand this truth. Sometimesserving Christ is costly. It may cost comfort, convenience, popularity, andeven relationships. But nothing given to Christ is ever lost. Jim Elliot, thegreat missionary martyr, once said: "He is no fool who gives what hecannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." Noless than six times, Jesus said in the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, andJohn—that when you try to save your life, you will lose it. But if you loseyour life for His sake and the gospel's, you will find it. So today, askyourself: Am I living sacrificially for Christ? Am I holding back areas of mylife from God? Am I willing to be poured out for His glory? The greatest lifeis not the comfortable life. It is the surrendered life. I pray that this isyour heart today. Let'spray together. Father, thank You for the example of Paul, and above all, theexample of Jesus Christ. Teach us to live sacrificially and joyfully for Yourglory. Help us to absolutely surrender all of our lives completely into Yourhands. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen. Godbless and may you have a wonderful, wonderful day!
Rev. Patrick Hamrick will be preaching on the Trinity.
Acts 2:1-4 When the wind and fire came, it got everyone's attention. God had appeared in fire before (Exod 3:2-5; 14:24; 19:18; 40:33-38; Lev 9:22-24; Deut 4:24; 2 Chron 7:1-3). Speaking in tongues is a miracle wherein God's spirit enables someone to speak a foreign language without learning it (1 Cor 14:2, 14). Acts 2:5-11 Pentecost was a major Jewish festival that brought pilgrims in from all over the surrounding regions. Although God always cared about the nations (Gen 10), he confused their languages at the Tower of Babel (Gen 11) and began working with Abraham and his descendants (Gen 12). Now that Jesus had brought salvation, God was taking the nations back—all who call upon the name of the Lord. Acts 2:12-21 Peter pointed to Joel's prophecy to answer the question, “What does this mean?” The spirit of God had gone public—and it happened prior to the end of the age! Acts 2:22-24 Finally, Peter gets to talking about Jesus. He tells them two accepted claims followed by two startling claims. Acts 2:25-33 Looking to David's prophecy in Psalm 16, we see that this event was predicted centuries before. That the spirit has been poured out is now proof that Jesus indeed is the messiah exalted to God's right hand in heaven. Acts 2:34-42 When he boldly confronted the people for crucifying their own messiah, they asked, “What should we do?” Peter told them to repent and be baptized. If they did, they would receive forgiveness for their sins and the gift of the holy spirit too!The post God's Spirit Poured Out first appeared on Living Hope.

He fills what He reclaims. The Christian life is not just a life we are commanded to live. It is a life we are empowered to live by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. In this message, we see Joel's promise of devastation, return, mercy, restoration, and then the outpouring of God's Spirit. This is not a promise for a spiritual elite. It is not for only the gifted, the visible, or the already mature. Acts 1 and Acts 2 show that Pentecost was not the beginning of the story, but the outpouring that came after obedience, waiting, surrender, and preparation. The disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem, the same city where Jesus had been crucified. They had to “wait in danger,” “wait without clarity,” and “wait without a timeline.” Before they were filled with the Spirit, they had to pour themselves out before God. God often gives something new after we release what no longer belongs in our hands. The closet illustration made the spiritual point clear: “You don't buy anything new until you get rid of something old.” Many believers want the promise of God while still holding tightly to old security, old control, old plans, old reputation, and old certainty. Faith sees the promise as more valuable than present security. The disciples were prepared vessels before they became Spirit-filled witnesses. Waiting was not wasted because they spent it in prayer and preparation. “Waiting time is not wasted time if you spend it in preparation.” God poured His Spirit into people who had stayed surrendered long enough to receive what He promised. Fortitude is the Spirit-enabled strength to stay faithful when obedience feels costly. It is not denial, aggression, or pretending fear does not exist. Fortitude means remaining faithful in difficulty, fear, suffering, and uncertainty. Disciplined faith obeys before it sees the payout. The invitation is to clear out whatever blocks surrender and make room for the fullness of the Holy Spirit. God pours into prepared vessels. The question is simple: what old thing needs to leave your hands so God can fill you with what He promised? The post The Poured-Out Church appeared first on Revival Life Church Boca Raton, FL.

Pentecost Sunday Morning Sermon
Pastor Aaron Wallace
The waiting is over. In the upper room, the disciples had been praying and preparing, but now God moves. The Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus, is poured out in power, equipping the disciples to proclaim the Gospel in a way they never could on their own. The miracle of Pentecost isn’t just about the signs and wonders—it’s about God launching His Church into its mission. The same Spirit that fell on Pentecost is the Spirit that empowers us today, calling us to take the Gospel to every nation, tribe, and tongue.

"Wrath Poured Out" (Revelation 16:1-21)
A meditation preached by Fr. Eric Nicolai at the new Ellerton Centre in Toronto, on Avenue Road on May 2, 2026.In this very moving passage in St. Paul's letter to the Romans, God helps us see the divine interlacing of the three theological virtues which form the backing upon which the true life of every Christian man or woman has to be woven.Romans 5, 1-5: Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.These virtues are alive in us. They are not dead or dormant, or like dead batteries. Lots of power to them, it drives us to energy. This is the battery that makes us grow in the life of grace.

What happened on the Day of Pentecost wasn't just a moment to remember, it was a moment that changed everything. In this message, we dive into Acts of the Apostles chapter 2 and uncover how God didn't just give His people a date on a calendar, He gave them POWER they were never meant to live without. From the sound of a rushing wind… to tongues of fire… to ordinary people speaking in supernatural language, this was the birth of the Church as we know it. And it all started with a promise fulfilled. We explore the powerful contrast between the Old Testament Pentecost, when the Law was given on Mount Sinai, and the New Testament Pentecost, where the Spirit was poured out. One brought death. The other brought life.
Poured Out in Devotion
2026-04-19 - Poured Out Life 2 - Bjorn Anderson
In Mark 14, we are given the testimony of the woman with the alabaster jar of oil coming to Jesus. She falls at His feet, breaking the jar open and pouring the oil upon His head and feet. Jesus says that this woman's actions will be proclaimed in every Gospel throughout the whole world. How important is this to us, then? The Church has handed down to us that the infinitely valuable jar of oil is indeed the human soul. This sinful woman poured out her worship and repentance before Christ. Her soul was broken and poured out upon Him. And there, she received and experienced the Divine mercy of her Savior. May our souls be broken and poured out upon Christ that we may experience the same.
The Holy Spirit is poured out at Pentecost, filling everyone in the early church. Jesus fulfilled His promise to send the Helper, and now Christians who trust in Him are empowered by the Holy Spirit to go and witness the Lord we love who saved us.

Send us Fan MailHave you ever noticed how a fragrance can fill an entire room before you even see where it came from?In this episode, I'm sharing a powerful Holy Week reflection on what it means to carry the fragrance of Jesus in our everyday lives. We'll walk through the story in Mark 14, where a woman breaks open her alabaster jar and pours out costly perfume at the feet of Jesus. In her surrender, the fragrance filled the room—and revealed something deeper about worship, sacrifice, and love.Together, we'll explore: • Why the fragrance is released through breaking • How Jesus was broken and poured out for us • How our lives become a pleasing aroma when we surrender • The powerful role creativity plays in carrying His presenceI truly believe this: We don't carry His fragrance by striving… we carry it by surrender.Whether it's through painting, cooking, creating, or simply loving others well, your life can release something eternal. So I want to ask you… What is your alabaster jar?If this message stirs something in you, come go deeper with me on the Small Beginnings with Sara podcast, and if you're ready to step into healing through creativity, explore The Creative Healing Bundle—it's one of the most powerful ways I've seen God meet people right where they are.
The world often tells us we can’t help anyone else until we’ve fully taken care of ourselves first. And while rest and care matter, Scripture calls believers to a different kind of mindset—one rooted in humility, sacrifice, and dependence on God’s strength rather than our own. In today’s devotional, we’re reminded that Jesus didn’t wait until everything felt comfortable or easy before serving others. Instead, He poured Himself out completely in obedience to the Father. His life was marked by humility, selflessness, and a willingness to put others first. Paul challenges us in Philippians 2 to live with that same attitude—choosing to consider others more important than ourselves and looking beyond our own interests. That kind of love isn’t possible through sheer willpower. It requires God’s grace. When we feel depleted, we’re tempted to retreat inward, distract ourselves, or try to fill our emptiness with things that don’t truly satisfy. But God invites us to come to Him first. He supplies strength when we have none, and He teaches us how to love others even in our weakness. Being “poured out” doesn’t mean living burned out—it means living surrendered. It means trusting God to fill what we cannot, and letting Him use our lives to reflect Christ’s humility and love. Main Takeaways God calls believers to live with humility and selflessness, not self-focus. Jesus modeled what it looks like to pour out your life for others. True strength to serve comes from God’s grace, not personal endurance. Feeling empty can become an invitation to rely more fully on Christ. God uses weakness to shape us and reflect His power through us. Today's Bible Reading:“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others” (Philippians 2:3-4, NASB).
