In the final part of Instinct, we take another look at Genesis 3 and what happened in the garden to see what God's first instinct to our sin was and what that means to us now.
In the second part of Instinct, we take a look at the instinct of our enemy in Genesis 3 and how our enemy uses temptation, suggestion, and our own imagination against us so we can better fight against it.

It’s a game of hide and seek that has been going on for thousands of years. Although, the first human beings Adam and Eve lived and walked next to God side by side, and face to face, something drastic changed when they disobeyed their God and fell into sin. Adam and Eve knew they were no longer worthy to stand in the presence of God. From then on the game of hide and seek was afoot. We as a fallen people continue to hide from God. We hide our sin, our failure, sometimes even our faces from Him. But God loves us and seeks us out continually where we are–where we need Him most

Shame made it's first appearance in the garden of Eden after Adam and Eve first disobeyed God, and ever since then has been a common reality touching all of humanity. Adam and Eve's initial shame had to do with what God thought of them and what they thought of each other, but ever since leaving the garden, humanity lost sight of God-oriented shame and is stuck in the courtroom of other people's opinion - or in other words 'fear of man.' Unfortunately, it is here that our culture excels.

As we enter into Lent, we enter into it considering our own mortality that comes through our fall into sin, and how that fall has made us utterly afraid of death - but needlessly because we have a Savior who took death for us.
