Send us Fan MailIn this episode of the Echoes of Eden series, Tim and Steve continue their journey through Genesis 3—moving beyond the fall itself into its deeper consequences, surprising grace, and the first glimpse of the Gospel. What actually happens after humanity's disobedience? Is this story about punishment… or something else entirely? As the narrative unfolds, we encounter the protoevangelium—the first announcement of Good News—pointing forward to Christ's ultimate victory over sin and death. Along the way, we wrestle with some big theological questions: Did God punish Adam and Eve—or reveal the consequences of their choices? What really changed in humanity after the fall? How has the doctrine of original sin shaped the Gospel we preach today? Drawing from the writings of Ephrem the Syrian, this episode also explores a breathtaking vision of Paradise—not just as a lost place, but as a present reality and a future hope fulfilled in Christ. This conversation invites you to rethink the story: From fear to love. From punishment to restoration. From exile… to the promise of returning home.
This sermon explores the creation account in Genesis 2-3, focusing on God's original design for mankind and how sin corrupted that design. Pastor Jason examines how God gave Adam three gifts under the banner of worship: work to enjoy, a will to obey, and a woman to love. The message emphasizes that Adam was created for face-to-face relationship with God, but sin entered through passivity and disobedience. The sermon contrasts the first tree (bringing sin and death) with the second tree (the cross, bringing forgiveness and life).

Send us Fan MailIn Episode 6 of Echoes of Eden, Tim and Steve Stewart step into Genesis 3—the pivotal and often misunderstood story of “The Fall.”Rather than treating it as a simple explanation for sin, this conversation explores the deeper human experience behind the text: temptation, mistrust, sorrow, and the fracture of what is meant to be whole. They unpack how temptation operates on multiple levels—physical desire, aesthetic appeal, and intellectual distortion—and how subtle shifts in how we perceive God's words lead us away from trust. At the same time, this episode challenges listeners to reconsider how much weight we give to Genesis 3 compared to Genesis 1 and 2—where the repeated declaration is that creation is good. And yet, even here—in the origin of brokenness— God's mercy is already present. This is not just a story of loss. It is also the beginning of redemption.
In the world of the Bible, names were never just labels—they carried identity, authority, and even power. In this episode of The Two Trees Podcast, we explore how the ancient cultures surrounding Genesis understood naming as an act of ordering the world, and how that context reshapes our reading of Adam in the garden. When God brings the creatures to Adam, this is more than observation—it is a divine invitation into stewardship, priesthood, and participation in God's rule. But what happens when that gift is distorted? From the blessing and cursing of the tongue to the deeper meaning behind renamed figures in Scripture, this episode invites you to rediscover the weight of words and the calling to speak life in a world shaped by exile.Authors note:. I MADE A MISTAKE. Around 53.26 I said Adam called his wife Ezer that is incorrect he calls her Isah which means woman Ezer is the word translated helper in verse 8. It's the word what describes what the Isah is suppose to be. I apologize.

This week on the Rocky Mountain UFO Podcast, we venture beyond the skies and into the cosmos of classic literature. Join us as we explore John Milton's timeless masterpiece, Paradise Lost, in a deep-dive discussion centered on a rare 1877 edition. We dissect the epic's opening—set in the fiery depths of Hell, where Satan and his fallen legions plot revenge after their failed celestial rebellion. From the Arch-Fiend's rallying cry to sabotage God's newest creation to the halls of Heaven, where divine justice and the promise of human redemption unfold, we examine the profound themes that make this work a cornerstone of Western thought. Is the story of cosmic rebellion and the origin of evil simply theology, or does it echo the broader narratives of non-human intelligence and celestial conflict found in modern UFO lore? Tune in as we discuss free will, the nature of good and evil, and what Milton's vision of the cosmos says about humanity's place in a universe far more complex than we imagine.
God's answer to a universal problem.Could there be a more basic problem in our lives than our battle with pride? The good news: for this universal problem, a universal spiritual solution is available through Jesus Christ.Support the show

The Catechism introduces us to the Fall, beginning with the reality of sin and the mystery of evil. Fr. Mankind falls in the Garden. Though God gave an order, a mandate, and a prohibition to Adam and Eve, their disobedience leads to awful consequences. A serpent deceived the woman into eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the man does nothing to lead the woman (or himself) away from the temptation. After their sin, the couple attempts to hide from God, yet God graciously provides for them. While they are cast out of the Garden, they yet have new coverings provided by God, and a promise to hold onto. Someday, a Seed of the woman will come to defeat the serpent.Bible ReadingsGenesis 3Support the showRead along with us in the Bible Brief App! As soon as man fell, Christ entered on his mediatorial work. Then it was that he began to execute the work and office of a mediator. He had undertaken it before the world was made. He stood engaged with the Father to appear as man's mediator, and to take on that office when there should be occasion, from all eternity. But now the time was come. Christ the eternal Son of God clothed himself with the mediatorial character, and therein presented himself before the Father.

First Truths - The Fall of Man - Pastor Troy Jackson - October 29 by Pastor Larry Huch
The sermon presents a foundational biblical understanding of humanity's origin and fallen state, emphasizing that humans were uniquely created in God's image—endowed with rationality, morality, volition, self-awareness, verbal communication, spirituality, and creativity—making them the crown of creation and entrusted with dominion over the earth. This divine design was shattered by Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden, which introduced guilt, shame, fear, and spiritual death, resulting in a fallen human nature marked by rebellion, enslavement to sin, spiritual blindness, and separation from God, a condition inherited by all humanity. The consequences of this fall extend beyond individuals to the entire created order, which now groans under the weight of futility and awaits redemption. The only remedy is the incarnate Son of God, Jesus Christ, who perfectly embodies God's uncorrupted image and offers restoration to the divine likeness through salvation, enabling believers to be renewed in true holiness and righteousness.

The Fall of Man (Genesis 2:25–3:7)Genesis 3 is a pivotal moment in Scripture when Adam and Eve chose to believe the lies of Satan rather than trust the will of God. Satan's work has always been to draw us away from God—through doubt, half-truths, and deception. Adam and Eve's choice in the garden was not just their story; it's ours too. As Romans 3:23 reminds us, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."To understand our own sin, we must first understand the first sin. What does their rebellion teach us about the danger of Satan's lies? At the heart of every temptation is an invitation to reject God and trust the deceiver instead of the Creator. This text teaches three vital lessons: the need to trust God's wisdom, trust His word, and trust His design. This sermon explains from Genesis 2:25–3:7, the pivotal scripture detailing the Fall of Man and the origin of sin. It explores the theological foundations of this passage, how Satan's lies led Adam and Eve to rebellion, and the profound consequences that changed the human condition forever. Understanding this first sin is crucial for understanding one's own sin and God's work of redemption.Sermon Outline: Three Ways We Must Trust GodI. Trust God's Wisdom (Genesis 3:1-3)II.
