For too long, humanity has seen life's decisions as simply man's ways vs. God's ways, being ignorant of the involvement of a snake. A spiritual war of gaslighting humanity into questioning what God has declared. At the root of it all? Our pride, dependence on self, and greed - which leads to our deception. But God is calling prodigal sons home - for them to realize how much they are dependent upon Him. But that return begins with revelation of our own depravity and need for God to give us true life. It's time to give the snake the cold shoulder, and return to our Father as humble children. Sunday, May 4, 2025 – We are in the second week of our study on the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, focusing today on our 4th Fundamental Tenet: “The Fall of Man.” We spend the entire message discussing something as basic as the fall of mankind because unless we recognize from what we are saved, we cannot truly appreciate what we are saved from. Before man can fall from the grace of God, mankind must first be created. Sometimes we forget how grand our creation was. God had a plan for all of mankind when He formed man from the dust and breathed His eternal breath into that lump of clay. That plan was a plan of perfection and eternal relationship with Himself. God’s pattern for mankind was His own image. Have you ever considered what it means to be created in the image of God? When we fathom what that means, it gives us a whole new perspective on our purpose for living and how we should strive to live. Here’s the amazing part: even after mankind sinned and fell away from God’s grace and relationship, He had a plan to redeem. We will spend our next time discussing the fifth tenet of our faith, “The Salvation of Man,” but first we need to appreciate how much God loves us unconditionally, even after mankind fell. Worship and study along with us and appreciate God’s love.

Text: Genesis 3:1-7 Satan's Deceitful Devices (Genesis 3:1-5) Satan is the crafty serpent in the Garden of Eden (Revelation 12:9). Satan strategy involves attacking and distorting God's Word. Satan's goal is for us to doubt and disobey God's Word Man's Defiant Disobedience (Genesis 3:6-7) Adam and Eve disobeyed God's Word in unbelief, seeking their own moral autonomy. Adam and Eve's sinful pattern in Genesis 3 is paralleled for us in James 1:13-16 and 1 John 2:15-17. God's Promised Savior (Romans 5:12-17) Through one man's (Adam) sin, death has passed to all of us and reigns over us. Through the Gospel of Christ, we can be justified by grace and live eternally with Him.
Pastor Patrick Hines of Bridwell Heights Presbyterian Church in Kingsport, TNPastor Jim Thornton of Reformed Faith Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, TNPastor Henry Johnson of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tazwell, VACHAP. VI.—Of the Fall of Man, of Sin, and of the Punishment thereof.I. OUR first parents, being seduced by the subtilty and temptation of Satan, sinned, in eating the forbidden fruit (Gen. 3:13; 2 Cor. 11:3). This their sin, God was pleased, according to His wise and holy counsel, to permit, having purposed to order it to His own glory (Rom. 11:32).II. By this sin they fell from their original righteousness and communion (Gen. 3:6-8; Eccl. 7:29; Rom. 3:23), with God, and so became dead in sin (Gen. 2:17; Eph. 2:1), and wholly defiled in all the faculties and parts of soul and body (Titus 1:15; Gen. 6:5; Jer. 17:9; Rom. 3:10-18).III. They being the root of all mankind, the guilt of this sin was imputed (Gen. 1:27-28; 2:16-17; Acts 17:26; Rom. 5:12, 15-19; 1 Cor. 15:21-22, 45, 49); and the same death in sin, and corrupted nature, conveyed to all their posterity descending from them by ordinary generation (Ps. 51:5; Gen. 5:3; Job 14:4; 15:14).IV. From this original corruption, whereby we are utterly indisposed, disabled, and made opposite to all good (Rom. 5:6; 8:7; 7:18; Col. 1:21), and wholly inclined to all evil (Gen. 6:5; 8:21; Rom. 3:10-12), do proceed all actual transgressions (James 1:14-15; Eph. 2:2-3; Matt. 15:19).V. This corruption of nature, during this life, doth remain in those that are regenerated (1 John 1:8, 10; Rom. 7:14, 17-18, 23; James 3:2; Prov. 20:9; Eccl. 7:20); and although it be, through Christ, pardoned and mortified;

The Catechism introduces us to the Fall, beginning with the reality of sin and the mystery of evil. Fr. Mike highlights the fact that sin is not “a developmental flaw, a psychological weakness, a mistake, or the necessary consequence of an inadequate social structure,” but it is man saying, “not your will, but mine be done” to God. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 385-390. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. In today's sermon, Pastor Gene continues his look at the conflict in the garden of Eden between Adam and Eve and the serpent.
Why is the world broken? It all goes back to Genesis 3:1-19, where sin first entered the world. In this episode of Way to Go Podcast, we take a deep dive into the fall of man, the deception in the garden, and the lasting consequences we still face today.
One of the pivots on which the history of mankind turns, we turn today to the record of the temptation and fall of mankind in the garden of Eden.

Mankind falls in the Garden. Though God gave an order, a mandate, and a prohibition to Adam and Eve, their disobedience leads to awful consequences. A serpent deceived the woman into eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the man does nothing to lead the woman (or himself) away from the temptation. After their sin, the couple attempts to hide from God, yet God graciously provides for them. While they are cast out of the Garden, they yet have new coverings provided by God, and a promise to hold onto. Someday, a Seed of the woman will come to defeat the serpent.Bible ReadingsGenesis 3Support the showRead along with us in the Bible Brief App! Join us as we promise to unravel the complexity behind the Fall of Man through the contemplations of Bishop Jacques Bossuet. By examining the cunning nature of the serpent and its interactions with Eve, we explore the subtle yet powerful way doubt was introduced into the world. With insights from St. Paul's wisdom, discover how "the foolishness of God is wiser than man," offering a profound perspective on the divine narrative of salvation and obedience.Our journey doesn't stop there; we shift our focus to the hope of redemption found in Genesis 3:15. Delve into this pivotal promise, where the serpent is unveiled as a symbol of the devil, and the role of the woman's seed, Jesus Christ, is highlighted as humanity's ultimate hope. Here, we explore the rich allegorical layers that portray Eve as a precursor to Mary, the new Eve, emphasizing the virgin birth and Christ's redemptive victory. Through the meditations of Bishop Bossuet, this episode offers a compelling reflection on the promise that has shaped Christian theology and offers hope to us all.Support the show********************************************************https://www.avoidingbabylon.comMerchandise: https://shop.avoidingbabylon.comLocals Community: https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comRSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssSpiritusTV: https://spiritustv.com/@avoidingbabylonOdysee: https://odysee.com/@AvoidingBabylon

The Fall Of Man, The Flesh And The Life Of Christ by David Antwi
The podcastr discusses the creation of man in God's image, the purpose of humanity, the introduction of sin through the Fall, and the hope found in a singular seed, Christ. ### Highlights– God created man in His image, male and female, to multiply and fill the Earth.– The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge represent choices leading to life or death.– Free will allowed man to choose obedience or disobedience, resulting in the Fall.– The serpent's subtle influence led to Eve's deception and later Adam's sin.– The curse on creation led to pain, sorrow, and death, altering man's relationship with God and each other.– Hope is provided through a singular seed, Christ, who will ultimately defeat sin and death.– The New Testament connects the Fall to human nature's struggle and the need for redemption through Christ. ### Key Insights– **Creation in God's Image:** Humanity was created to reflect God's character, emphasizing the importance of our roles as stewards of creation. This foundational aspect of identity holds significant implications for how we live and relate to others.– **Choice and Consequence:** The presence of the Tree of Knowledge illustrates the importance of choice in human existence, with disobedience leading to dire consequences. This highlights the necessity of understanding and adhering to divine commandments to avoid spiritual death.– **Subtle Deception:** The serpent symbolizes the dangers of manipulation and deception, showing how easily one can stray from God's truth. This teaches the need for vigilance and discernment in our beliefs and decisions.– **Relationship Dynamics:** The changes in relationships post-Fall demonstrate how sin distorts human interactions, particularly between men and women. Understanding these dynamics can foster healthier relationships based on respect and love rather than conflict.– **Cursed Creation:** The curse signifies a shift in the natural order, emphasizing the reality of suffering and mortality. This serves as a reminder of the fallen state of the world and the necessity for redemption and restoration.– **Hope in Redemption:** The promise of a singular seed, Christ, offers hope for overcoming sin and death. This insight points to the transformative power of faith and the significance of Christ's sacrifice in restoring humanity's relationship with God.– **Struggle with Human Nature:** The text outlines the internal battle faced by believers due to their sinful nature. Acknowledging this struggle is crucial for spiritual growth and the pursuit of a life aligned with God's will.
